Laila A.DO NOT GET SCAMMED!!!!!
DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES
I called them to check for my bathroom showerhead- they came
the next morning and get it fixed, and sent me the invoice for
$5434.00- I asked for detailed invoice and receipts which they
were unable to provide it to me. I sent them the check for the
total amount of $5434.00- & followed up on why they haven't
deposit my check to which they kept telling me they never
received my check. Finally I give them my credit card info & they charged 2400$ and very next morning they deposited
my check I have been calling them since to refund my money of
2400$ back and they refused to do so and keep telling me it will
take time to refund it. it's been over 19 days and I am still waiting for them to transfer- I will advise whomever is planning to use their services think twice before making a mistake such a shame I have to take a next step to take my money back.
BEWARE! This company are total rip-offs. They will overcharge what they tell you something costs, if they tell you at all. Then they won't even do the work they said they ""did"". Will try to get more business out of you by saying you need more work. My regular plumber wasnt available and I had a serious emergency so I called these guys. Said they would be there in an hour, it took them over 2. They charged me over $4000 worth of work for services that if they had actually done and completed would've cost less than $1000. When I gave them my card to charge he handed it back to me, I asked is that it and he replied ""yea I just signed it"". Didn't see a price and had to reach out for a receipt. I was in an impossible situation, home alone with my kids and just needed help. Had to call another plumber because the issue persisted, and nothing they said was the problem or additional work that needed to be done was true at all. Called, texted and emailed to get a receipt. Finally received one and when I did I was floored. When I showed my regular guy and the restoration company, and the new plumber I called, they all said I got ripped off. Horrible, untrustworthy, scam artists are what they are. DO NOT CALL THEM!
Betsy M.Took close to two days (and a bunch of phone calls) to get here, charged a an obscene amount of money ($9000) to replace the water heater and sump pump and a little bit of plumbing--were here for a day and a half--installations should not have taken that much time. Said they fixed the shutoff valve on the toilet --did some work on the pipes for that (but did not replace shutoff valve) and when it was still leaking said I needed a new toilet. Left two holes in the downstairs bathroom ceiling. Receipt for work was a joke. Will never use them again under an circumstances. Considering filings complaints against them --felt like I was ripped off because I was an older woman alone.
The crew doing the work seemed competent and were nice to work with. But make sure you get a WRITTEN estimate before they do any work (or even come to the house). I called up for an estimate to replace a hot water tank.. They said they would send someone out in an hour.. He showed up on time was nice and gave me a quote for doing it that afternoon. I asked if that was the installed cost and he said it was. It was about 10% higher that another local plumber but since they could do it the same day I agreed. They did come back and did a nice job... when they wrote the invoice up there was an additional ""Service Fee"" of $150.00. I paid the whole bill because I didn't want to argue with the workers. I called the office and questioned the additional change and was told they always charge a service fee. I countered with if that is the case they should have told me that over the phone when I called (I already knew I needed a replacement). He said he would check with the crew and call me back... 2 days later I ended up calling him again and now the story changed to they had to put on new shut offs and do the hookup (already had one shut off and water was run to the old hot water heater). It seemed a bit excessive to say that 2 shut offs and some plastic pipe should be that expensive (especially since they had already looked at it before they gave me the ""Installed price""). So I guess bottom line is they did a good job and were fast to fix the hot water heater BUT beware of the total cost before you agree to have them do the work.
Terrible service. Did not show up. I had to find somebody else to fix my plumbing problem. I definitely would not recommend Central Plumbing and Drains.
They had to come back to my house 3 times because they couldn't figure out the problem was still going. Plus he ripped me off plumbing doesn't cost 2700 I didn't have 2700 and I gave them 1800. I highly don't recommend them at all. Plumbing doesn't cost 2700 if I knew that I would of done it myself. Plus I didn't recieved a receipt for what they did now wrong on there part so pretty much you stoled my money. They are not finishing anything else up in my house nope I will find someone else and Plus they are rip offs. You always have to wait around for them to come and when you call them to tell them the problem still not right they ignore your call. Also they have no clue what they are doing I recommend I would not let them back into my house. They really suck and also first time I asked them how much it would cost he didn't tell me the price and he kept telling me insurance covers plumbing no they do not lier: I strongly recommend do not go to these guys:
Unfortunately... I called them! they showed up 4 hours late To do a simple shut off valve replacement . An replace with a new $8.00 part. Which wasn't repaired correctly . They charged me $225 for 1 hour
Total rip off had to get someone to fix it the right way. Luckily HE didn't charge. My contractor, told me hes heard nothing but bad news. about Central Plumbing. And how they exaggerate bill repairs . Due to the leak some mold had formed , Central Plumbing and Drains put in a fraudulent claim . That my insurance denied .. My insurance adjuster had already been to my house to see the damages. Before CENTRAL PLUMBING FILED A CLAIM . Luckily the insurance company,.. saw through central plumbing's shady dealings. Big Good luck to anybody that will use this company. You will be overcharged. they will not complete the job or do it right . They will try to rip off your insurance company, for work they do not do. Good luck trying to get a Itemize Detail bill. in conclusion. I did make a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. For A FRAUDULENT HOME OWNERS INSURANCE CLAIM. No answer back from CENTRAL . this company prays on senior citizens, and rips them off.
I called Central Plumbing because we had a radiator pipe burst, and my trusted plumber was not available at the time.
I called on a Tuesday morning, and was told they'd be at my home by 1:00 they showed up at 2:00, took a look and told me they had to go get a part to bypass the broken radiator. They left at about 2:30, came back at 5:00 and spent maybe 1/2 hour putting in a part to bypass the radiator.
He told me it would cost just under $500. I was feeling very sick and was the only one home, and didn't think to ask for a receipt. I signed his phone.
Over $700 was charged to my credit card, and no receipt was sent. When I asked for an itemized bill, I was told I'd get it later that day. 2 days later, after more phone calls and texts, we finally got a bill.
$150 emergency charge (on a weekday)
$450 to ""drain the entire system"" and put in part that I'd guess costs no more than $50. So he got over $150 per hour if you count travel time to get a part. (Which should not have taken 2 1/2 hours).
We had some trouble a week later and our regular plumber came, looked at the work central had done, and told us that all that needed to be done to fix that radiator was to close 2 valves, and the part central put in was unsafe. My plumber stayed at my home for an hour (dinner hour, not regular business hours) to be sure our other problem was resolved. He did not charge us anything! He did tell us that many people and businesses have been ripped off by this guy. Do NOT use this plumber!
Called them to fix a leak in my kitchen ceiling. They charged over $1500 for a $300 job. I couldn't refuse since the work was done, but they didn't give me a receipt because they said they didn't have internet service. A month later and several calls still no receipt and I'm waiting for it to get reimbursed from the insurance company. Not sure why they can't tell you the cost ahead of time or get a receipt for the break down in handwriting. A scam artist is what I call them.
I appreciated the fact that they sent someone in the early evening to fix a broken pipe but the plumber spent about an hour, used about $30 worth of plastic pipes and fittings and charged me $543. When I questionEd them about their labor rates they said it was what they charge. Taking away the service fee and the parts it works out to about $375 per hour. I'll never call them again and they won't last in Mohawk ripping people off like this.
