The plumber arrived within the designated time slot and troubleshot my water heater. He was not able to determine the cause of the leak. While he was here, he also replaced a shower cartridge for a leaking shower head. Total cost over $450! This is not what they told me on the phone. I was originally told $89 for the tech to come out and I would be quoted a price prior to any repairs being made. Contacted customer support and was told that after reviewing the initial call, they can see how I would not have known about the $178.00 additional fee that they charge for any diagnosis performed after 30 minutes, but they could not do anything for me. So for anyone who is thinking about using this company, just know that the $89 only covers 30 minutes of them being at your house, anything over they will charge you at a rate of $200 per hour, at least that is what the plumber told me after he was done.

I am a long time Sunn corporation customer since 2009( was bought by Tristate). As Avery satisfied customer I called a week ago to set up appointment to service my AC on May 28, which was confirmed, only 3 hours before scheduled time got a call to reschedule for July 7th which is 40 days from today, not a day or two and doesn't make a sense, told them my 90 year old father lives with me, has medical issues and blind but didn't help. I will not suggest this business to anybody, pls use small mom and pop businesses to whom you are not a number, I found one and very happy with, not recommending tristate to anyone, wish I was able to give less then one star!

Ended our 20 year rocky relationship today due to my last draw with rudeness with their staff and ownership. Many bad experiences but last draw is they accused us of never cleaning our air filter for 3 years. Seriously we clean replace them monthly. I'm not arguing it was dirty as they are and that is why we clean them so often. We bought a new Furnace AC $7k ($10k w/interest) that we purchased through them for less than 3 years ago and they want $5k parts plus $$ labor for 3 leaks and are saying it's due to not maintaining. First year we were told no maintenance needed. Second year we paid $300+ for spring and fall maintenance but never scheduled them to come out, this is our fault but they were paid for nothing. Now in the third year we have no AC and paid $640 for them to tell us we have 3 leaks and Lennox won't pay because we didn't maintain in their and Lennox's opinion. So we now have to buy a new AC less than 3 years after a brand new AC purchase. I asked them to read me the explanation from Lennox's decline to cover and was told it's too lengthy to explain to me. But I paid them $640 to explain to me what was the issue. So my best advice is save your money and work with a company who cares about you and will proactively ensure they work with you to understand with out accusations that at false. Worst experience ever!

Wouldn't you know it, the HVAC's blower motor went out on the coldest day of the year. TriState to the rescue! They replaced it on a same day appointment and heat was restored! Price was very reasonable too! THANK YOU!

I had a great experience a year ago with Tri-State and spent about $12,000 getting a new heat pump and plumbing repairs. It was nice to know that there was a whole array of services they could provide. Then I called today after sending repeated online requests for a service appointment at my son's house. They simply didn't respond to the online requests and then today over the phone, the person who answered acted like he was doing me a big favor and/or didn't care at all about the job. He seemed like he was trying to avoid my business rather than the other way around. Very disappointing!

EXTREMELY OVERPRICED!!! I hate to say Price Gouging, but that is the experience I had.

Had a fuse go bad in 2 year old air conditioning unit. Sunn had installed and serviced my unit - so I called them and since my service this time last year the owner of Sunn retired and sold the business to TriState Home Services.

Technician was great - was able to quickly find and correct the 2 wires that caused the short and replace the fuse (was told it was $50 part). Total in home time about 25 minutes. Charge was $383!!!! Given the cost to them for fuse for an air conditioner is actually between $5 - $20, the parts charge was 2.5x actual at best or 10x at worst. Subtracting the $50 fuse, that means the labor was an astonishing $333. So about $660/hr. The tech seemed embarrassed - but had to use pre-defined prices for fuse replacement and finding shorted wires.

I am all for local businesses making a decent profit, especially if it means that they pay their employees well and provide decent benefits, but I find it highly unlikely the tech is making more than $50 hr.

I called the office and manager offered me a $50 credit. Better than nothing but still extremely overpriced. I liked Sunn - great service - reasonably priced. But as far as TriState - I will be going elsewhere in the future.

Had them into my house to replace the humidifier. Allowed myself to be talked into letting them service the 3 systems in my house (for an additional cost). Once the technician finished the humidifier was working fine but the heat pump was out and in need of repair on 2 of the three units. Found it amazing that the sent me the estimate for replacing the motor in one unit but indicated that it was working when they left. Talked to service department and they want to blame it on everyone and everything else.
Just a tip. Don't let these guys fool you. They are as crooked as the rest of their industry.

We have been very satisfied with the service from Tristate, and particularly the technician RJ.

Recently he installed a humidifier on our system. He completed the job as scheduled and then went over thoroughly its use and maintenance.

We got clean, professional work for a reasonable price. Yup, we highly recommend Tri state, and will continue to call on them as needed.

I contracted TriState to replace a broken main water pipe to my house and I have to say it doesnt get much better. After my main started leaking I contacted TriState and that evening Joe and Brian came out to give me an estimate. I was given two prices...one low price and another based on contingencies. Two days later Brian was here early and not only pulled a new main but also upgraded plumbing beyond the main to bring basement plumbing up to code. TriState also procured all necessary permits and also handled all communications with city public works on the matter. And all of this at the lower price quoted with extra costs.

These guys rock!
