Let me start by saying that the technician, Giovanni is AMAZING! With that said, after using TriCounty Services twice for the same issue I feel like I am being held hostage by selfish business practices. Giovanni came out twice to fix my fireplace. The first time he fixed it for the $125 trip charge and recommended a chimney sweep. The office sent me a quote that was so inflated I had a chimney sweep come out to do the work for half the cost. Soon after, the fireplace wasn't working again.
When I called the office to have someone come out and look at my fireplace I asked that the $125 trip charge be waived. The woman in the office never got back to me. Giovanni came out again. He explained everything to me which I appreciated. This time it was a $375 cost to fix. I was okay with that until Giovanni explained to me that I still had to pay the $125 trip charge. I felt that the office is putting the technicians in an uncomfortable position because of the owner's unwillingness to work with the customer. Needless to say I paid $500 to have the fireplace fixed for the second time.
I've been told that there are only two people in Ventura county who fix fireplaces. For that reason I feel like I am being held hostage. In my experience, a trip charge would be applied to any repairs that might be needed. Well that is true EXCEPT FOR FIREPLACES. I don't appreciate that at all.
I understand that business need to make a profit to survive. I also understand that business transactions have an emotional connection behind them. Giovanni made me feel respected and heard. The office and inflated prices made me feel cornered and just plain defeated.
Brian B.I recently had a technician from Tri Valley to my home to diagnose why my fireplace insert would not keep the pilot light on. I bought the unit from this company and had them install it many years ago so I thought it best to have them service it. Big mistake! The technician diagnosed the problem as the unit needed a new gas valve and with installation it would be over $2,500 as it was a big job. He said they would send an e-mail with the estimate. After a week without the estimate I researched my problem. The consensus was it was a classic example of a bad thermocouple. I ordered the part and replaced it myself for under $100. It took about an hour. I contacted the company via phone and e-mail to complain about this mis diagnosis. I spoke with the manager and explained in my opinion, that either the technician was incompetent or trying to take advantage of a senior citizen. I was told the owner would contact me regarding my concerns. A week later not a word.
Tom N.I received a marketing call from Tri County that rubbed me the wrong way. I was impressed that the owners took the time to address my concerns and it turns out it was only a misunderstanding of what was asked. I was truly impressed by the passion and care from the person I spoke with.
While I'm not a client, from the way they professionally handled the issue, I can imagine that their customers are well taken care of.
Tri County is a quality HVAC company.
They go above and beyond...Giovanni is a great Tech and very informative.
I will be using them in the future for my A/C and Heating needs.
Mark F.After being recommended this company by my parents, I called them to repair the heating of our combined unit. I was told that a fan had to be repaired. I asked if anything else was likely broken, and asked if it could also be the electronics board. They said no and showed my a photo of the board from my unit. After replacing the blower for $1100.00, the heating still did not work. They then suggested replacing the electronics board for $1200 more without any quarantine that it would work. The rheem unit is only 10 yrs old.
Unhappy that the unit still wasn't working with the prospect of spending another $1200 without any guarantee that that would work, and no refund or partial refund for the useless blower, I asked for an estimate for a new unit. Their bid for a 3.5 ton seer 16 unit was over $13,000.00 (which I included a $900 credit for already done useless work).
This felt extremely high, so I got a handful of bids from other companies on yelp. NO ONE WAS NEAR THEIR ASTRONOMICAL BID.
For these reasons, I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING. I will make sure all my family and friends never calls them again either.
I have been a loyal customer of Tri County Services for years. I started with them when I first moved here from New York and have stayed with them the three times I moved.
Today Giovanni and Librado made a service call. I know Giovanni from previous visits. He is a great guy who does his job well. I met Librado today and both guys were helpful with their findings and recommendations.
Deirdre, who I have been picking on and annoying for years is really a great person who does her best to help every time I call. Based on all the experiences I have had with Tri County I would definitely. recommend them.
Cassie W.Sarah was so nice & helpfully and went above and beyond to get quotes and expedited scheduling set up for us. I will definitely be calling them again for any future needs just because of the customer service from Sarah.
After two days of dealing with incompetent people at other compamies, dealing with Sarah at Tri-County Services was a breath of fresh air. After three days with no gas because of a leak I was looking for somebody who could come out that day because my home warranty company didn't have anybody for another two days. I was going to have to pay out of pocket and wait for reimbursement at the warranty companies rates. Without even knowing if they were getting the job Sarah had me send her pictures of the leaky valve on my 80 year old furnace (that's not a typo, it's the original from from when the house was built) to be sure they could get the valve that day. It turned out they couldn't so I told her thank you, but that I would just keep the appointment I had with another company the next day. Rather than just saying OK, Sarah asked me to please give them the opportunity to give me a bid if I had to replace the furnace. I said that if that happened I would have to wait for someone from my warranty company. When I told her who the warranty company was she said they work with them (who knows why the warranty company didn't find them when looking for same day service). She called the warranty company herself to have the job changed from a customer buyout to an approved service provider. The job hasn't started yet but Sarah undoubtedly saved me alot of grief and money. THANK YOU SARAH!!!
TriCounty Aire came out to check on some work they did on my heater six months ago , they changed my filter, checked my new controllers, and checked my furnace . Always nice to know a vendor that did work for you follows up. Good job.
Bradney F.Shouldn't even get 1 star. At least they showed up, even though they were an hour late. Horrible company, I wasn't going to leave a review but now they made me. In July it was 116 degrees in the house so said the tech. We originally called because the air conditioner came on out of no where and was blowing hot air. Tech came out and told us that it was out of Refrigerant, told us to buy a new system for $5000 or more, or to get a bucket of ice and a fan, mind you I have two little babies. Called another company, they came fixed the sensor and we had cold air in 1 hour. They said they wouldn't leave until it was fixed because of the kids, on top of that they weren't taking new customers but they knew I had kids and made it a priority. Now 5 months later they send me a past due invoice for an invoice I paid, sent the copy of the paid check and they had nothing to say. The office girl Sarah has no compassion or customer service skills. Not even a sorry for the mix up! I Asked for the owners name and Sarah said she can't give that out. This company is a rip off and a joke. If you want a company that doesn't care and just wants money then hire them.
