Lisa G.Wonderful Service... very friendly! Anthony and Raymond were so helpful and honest. I recommend them to everyone needing Pump services... definitely 5 stars
Love these guys!! We have used Tri County Pumps twice for leaks, and they were great both times. First time was in the dead of winter, freezing cold, frozen, ground, nasty conditions to be working outside. Second time was today - much nicer weather... the guys were friendly, cheerful and efficient both times - we are delighted. Thanks guys!!!
I ask tri county pump to Do a well and septic inspection on a house I was buying, I just had another company tell me my well casing is rusted through and needs repair, I spent 1750 dollars to get it inspected with tri county 3 months ago , complete waste! They did a water test supposedly, I don't know how it past like it is. I had to call repeatedly to get them to fill in a hole they dug in my front yard .
If you're looking for a reputable plumbing service, look elsewhere. Tricounty pump was my go-to for the last 20 years but no more. NEVER AGAIN.
My tale starts with calling them to service my water softener. 1st off, my bad - should have asked the price before they came out.
Service fee: $250 (just to come out - oh, they were 4 hours after their estimated time of arrival)
Technicial fee: $125 hr
That's 475 just to appear at my house....4 hours late....
Materials? Oh, those were under $50. Total bill was over 550.
OK, as I stated, my bad.
Now, today, 7/25/17, I called with an issue I'm having with my hot water heater. THIS water heater was installed 12/27/11 by Tricounty. It replaced another water heater that had been installed just six years earlier by Tricounty in sept 2005. Seems like 6 years is the magic number with them....
So, in chatting with them, I find that the writing on my latest invoice that shows 'hot water heater has a 6 year warranty' is only for the tank. No element replaced. No thermostat checks - well, of course, you can get all that for another $450 to come out.
Used to be a very trusted service. Not any longer. Head to Home Depot where they stand behind their merchandise
Also, Bill (whom I spoke with) told me that 'it's typical for a hot water heater to last 6 years depending on the water coming in the house.' Not falling for that - first off, THEY have treated the water softener every year! They're the ones who were responsible for the water coming in the house!
Steer clear. Steer very clear.
Update: I just called A&B Luck. Their service fee (to come to the house) is $65 instead of $250. Now, that's a pretty big difference.
Why does Tricounty cost so much just to appear? No clue. Robbery....
Update 7/26/17: A&B Luck just came out to check the water heater. Cost me $95 total. AND, while downstairs, the technician saw that the water softener was UNPLUGGED.
Nice going, Tristate Pump. You rob the public AND are incompetent!
Tri-County misdiagnosed my water pressure problem in my home and recommended replacing my main water line which would have been a very costly job. Charged me $392 for this so called service. Replacing the main water line would have cost $5-6,000. I brought in another plumber recommended by a friend and he was able to isolate the real problem immediately which was a water logged pressure tank. The pressure tank was replaced and the water pressure problem in the house was solved. Tri-County would not even consider refunding any of my money and continued to insist that I still had a problem with my main water line. Whether I did or not didn't really concern me as all I was concerned with was the water pressure in the house. I will never deal with this company again. And I am not one to leave bad reviews; in fact this is the first time I have done so but their lack of customer service so irritated me.
Follow up to my initial review: (01/04/2017)
After submitting a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, Tri County offered to come to my house to conduct another pressure test. This test showed once again that there was a leak in my main water line somewhere, probably close to where the water line enters the well casing. The leak, however (and this is a critical point), did not affect the water flow into the house. The only thing that was affecting this was the faulty pressure tank which after it was replaced solved the water pressure problem.
I am not disputing that there may be a leak in my main water line. However, it is important to note that even with this leak, my water pressure and flow are perfectly fine after the pressure tank was replaced. I maintain that Tri County should have at a minimum, offered me an opportunity to repair the immediate problem even if it was only a temporary fix, as they maintain. The faulty pressure tank was the cause of the water pressure problems that I was having in the house and this was ignored by Tri-County. If they had identified the pressure tank as the problem and changed it out during their initial visit, we wouldn't be having this disagreement.
In my view, the fact that there is a small leak in my main water line is something that I will keep an eye on but is totally irrelevant to the problems that I was having. For this reason, I am demanding a refund of at least a portion of the $392 that I paid to Tri County on November 4 for what turned out to be an erroneous or at least a misdirected diagnosis of my immediate water pressure problems.
And to add insult to injury, I just received a letter from a lawyer representing Tri-County threatening me with civil action in the Frederick Circuit Court. This is so outrageous and insulting and devoid of any legal foundation.
Klockwiseman ..First was a missing water sample, then an incomplete septic report (followed by a rushed, substandard update) and now a missing well inspection report (somehow you cashed the check, though...lucky for us I kept my hard copy). On top of all this, your cost was very high comparatively speaking.
Very UNPROFESSIONAL and UNACCEPTABLE customer service. When buying a house, scheduling a septic inspection should be the LEAST of your worries. The false and inaccurate information that was given to us was completely unnecessary. Our inspection was not completed on the day it was scheduled and Tri County never notified us, but instead took it upon themselves to schedule another appointment for the following week to dig up the yard resulting in fees more than double what we were originally quoted. Again, with no mention or confirmation that this needed to be done. We were only aware that the inspection was not done when we called the following week to obtain the reports. Luckily, we called and got this information before they were able to go back and have rescheduled our inspection with a more notable company. The employees at Tri County continuously told us lies about what was going on, trying to put the blame on the seller. They took no responsibility for their inaccuracies and never once apologized to me for the immense inconvenience this has caused us in the process. We sent multiple emails and left voice message with no response or returned call, however they were still planning to go on the new scheduled day to dig up the yard. I would NEVER recommend for anyone to use this company, save yourself the frustration and inconvenience!
When the power went out, our well system would not send water to the faucets and such... so we called Tri-county. The first set of guys that came out seemed to have little experience and didn't know anything about the well filtration system. They stated that their only knowledge was in well pumps. They were able to bypass my filtration system and get the water running again, but it was unfiltered. A few weeks later, another technician came to have a look at it, made some recommendations but did not have the parts to complete the job, so returned two weeks later. The well is now fixed but it was very expensive for the little work that was done. All in all, a small part ($150) was replaced and some pipes were bypassed, but I had to pay for two service calls ($120/each) which did not include any labor or materials and for four hours of work... at $95/hour. Very expensive service! I concluded that I am in the wrong business...
Can't say enough good things. They installed a whole-house filtration system and have been diligent about its maintenance over the last two years. They are always on time, do stellar work, and answer all our questions. If you have ANY plumbing, septic or filtration needs, you won't find a better company than Tri Country! Their prices are very reasonable and they don't try to sell you things that you don't need (which is more than I can say for the Culligan people).
Polly S.Tri County Pump Services are fantastic! I had a leaking water softener, and know very little about plumbing, plus my boyfriend is overseas. I called them on the Friday afternoon of the weekend before Thanksgiving, and they sent out two guys first thing the next morning to stop the leak/bypass the system so I could have water, but no leak. They were super informative, and friendly.
We needed a new water softener - and I was again impressed by the level of service from Tri County Pump Service. Firstly, the gentleman who was to install the water softener came out two days before scheduled to ensure that he would be fully prepared to install the system on the Wednesday, and noted that the filter needed cleaning, so informed me he would bring a filter for that as well.
On the day of installation, he was early (which was fantastic! so rare in a contractor!), quickly removed the old system and installed the new system. It is the little things that really made me happy - he explained what I needed to do moving forward with the new system: when I should add more salt, when I should change the filter, how often it should be service. He left me one of the empty bags of the salt so I have a reference when I go and buy more bags of salt. This makes life easier for me, as I have never had a house with a water softener before.
Fantastic service from Tri County Pump Services. Will definitely use them again if/when I need further plumbing services at my house.
