Schalk Opperman hails from South Africa and made his way to the USA, bringing extensive construction expertise. In the U.S., he uncovered his passion for trenchless underground construction, ultimately founding Drill Sub.

Drill Sub is the trusted name in trenchless subcontracting and general contracting. We execute no-dig installations and guided directional drilling quickly and at a reasonable cost. By utilizing various trenchless techniques, we minimize issues like traffic delays, messes, and accidents caused by unnecessary trenching on public roads. DRILL SUB is a fresh and innovative company led by Schalk Opperman. He began his journey in the pipeline industry in 2002 with a General Engineering Contractor in California, acquiring significant expertise in underground construction.

In 2006, Schalk opened the Southern California market for JM Turner Engineering, Inc. Consulting Engineers and continues to consult for them.

With 18 years of diverse experience, Schalk covers all facets of the underground construction industry, from installation and contracting to consulting and designing complex shoring systems. Now is the moment for Schalk's experience, paired with his entrepreneurial drive and a significant opportunity, to lead to the creation of DRILL SUB.
