In 2006, Schalk opened the Southern California market for JM Turner Engineering, Inc. Consulting Engineers and continues to consult for them.

With 18 years of diverse experience, Schalk covers all facets of the underground construction industry, from installation and contracting to consulting and designing complex shoring systems. Schalk's experience, along with his entrepreneurial nature and a timely opportunity, has culminated in the establishment of DRILL SUB.
