Originating from South Africa, Schalk Opperman arrived in the USA with a wealth of construction knowledge. In the States, he discovered his enthusiasm for trenchless underground construction, which led to the establishment of Drill Sub.

Schalk Opperman leads DRILL SUB, a new and forward-thinking company. In 2002, he joined a General Engineering Contractor in California, entering the pipeline sector and gaining extensive experience in underground construction.

In 2006, Schalk opened the Southern California market for JM Turner Engineering, Inc. Consulting Engineers and continues to consult for them.

Over the past 18 years, Schalk has gained well-rounded experience in the underground construction field, spanning installation, contracting, consulting, and the design of complex shoring systems. Schalk's experience, along with his entrepreneurial nature and a timely opportunity, has culminated in the establishment of DRILL SUB.
