Wouldn't call again. The serviceman came 4 times to fix a no hot water call over three days! Asked specifically if they knew how about this specific boiler. He admitted later he didn't. I even had to call the manufacture rep and find out what was wrong and he still couldn't fix it. Never could fix the problem and charged me $175 for nothing. Had to call another company who charged me way less and came within an hour and fixed in 30 min. When complained to owner he was a jerk. Never again.

I have been doing business with Travers P&H for the past 5 years. I cannot express enough how Dependable, Knowledgeable and above all HONEST they are. My most recent reach out and service from them involved a Saturday 11/12/16 call out to them for ""No Heat"" at my Newport, RI condo. They returned my call in less than 15 minutes after leaving a message. I informed the technician that the gas fired unit was turning on but no heat was being generated. He explained what the possible cause was and that it would be an easy fix if they had the part in stock. BUT - he also explained that the weather forecast for the next 2 days was good and that there was no need to rack up the weekend (Saturday & Sunday) higher rates. Here comes the Trust & Honesty part - The unit is unoccupied and has electronic locks to allow access. Monday AM they arrived as promised, let themselves in, and effected the repair. The bill was mailed to my home in Massachusetts. The amount was certainly NOT what I had expected. The part they said was not the problem. They could have easily soaked me for that part, time and labor and I never would have known. They replaced my defective thermostat which was the problem. My thanks to Erika and the boys for AGAIN providing, Fast, Fair and Reliable service.

I am very grateful to Travers - in the middle of a snowstorm, I realized my hot water heater was leaking - I called Travers and Joe, their technician was able to brave the storm and get to me within an hour. He stopped the leak and then was actually able to get the replacement heater and install it, and get everything working - all within a few hours on a horrible travel day. I am very impressed. I had already used them for more minor repairs, but I am so pleased with how they handled this more urgent situation. They really were reliable and did great work on top of it all. Five stars!

Absolutely fantastic.

I called them first thing on a Monday morning about getting my leaking hot water heater replaced, hopefully that day. My experience with Travers was great from making the phone call right until writing the check (well that hurt, but the price was reasonable!)

I called and the phone was answered quickly, the woman I spoke with knew what she was talking about, was able to give me an approximate estimate over the phone so I could run to the bank and was extremely professional and polite the 3 times we talked on the phone.

She had originally said afternoon, but was able to get someone out there before 11am, she called just as I'd gotten home from the store, so that worked out perfect. The technician, Joe was fantastic. He came in, explained exactly what he needed to do, left to get the parts and was back a short time later, in less than 2 hours I had my new hot water heater. I was prepared to have to mop up water and wash my kitchen floor after he left, but there was absolutely no mess at all. I hate cleaning, so that alone would get them 10 stars if I could give them!!!

So, if you need a plumber, give them a try. Their service is excellent, professional all around, they clean up after themselves and prices are very fair. I wouldn't go elsewhere and I'd recommend them to anyone.

I've been dealing with Travers for several years. I have had installations, repairs and service of plumbing, electric, heating and septic. They have been very responsive and reasonable in price.

Several time over the past few years that I've needed help with a property in the area. Every time I've called Travers, they have been professional and quick to respond. Even with a busy schedule, that have managed to get what I needed done in a timely manor. As a property owner/landlord, it's hard to not appreciate good service, and a fair rate. Plus, they seem like nice people to me, so I like doing business with them.

I had been using this company (Portsmouth) for many years for septic and then plumbing. Last Friday at 8 AM I called and asked the woman who answered the phone to please let the owner know I'm still having a problem. I called again at 9 and said I'd be home all day. She asked for details of the problem so I went into it.
I called again at 3:30 PM since no one got back to me all day. The woman said that she had gone through my slips and found no issues pertaining to what I was calling about, she put me on hold and came back saying she had just spoken to the manager too and apparently he didn't think I was worth speaking to because he knew I'd been waiting all day for the owner to call me and he didn't even bother to take the phone from the lady who schedules appointments! Apparently they make her do everything.
Its Monday afternoon now, I still have received no call and now I don't care. Although I really liked the guys who came out and pumped the septic, I have to say bye bye to this company because they just showed me they don't care one bit about their long-standing customers. I don't recommend them, it doesn't matter what your problem is with them, they don't want to hear it.

Wow, after reading the previous reviews I'm quite baffled.
Every time Travers comes to take care of our heating problems or even taking care of our septic system they have been absolutely amazing! From showing up on time, calling before they come to cleaning up after themselves they are always meticulous. Every technician that we have dealt with has been very professional and very nice and quite knowledgeable. I believe this is a really really great company to do business with. They do care and it shows in there work.
Let's not forget the office staff. When you call you to make an appointment they are always very very nice, understanding and most of all on top of things. They know what there talking about and really want to help. It really makes doing business with them a pleasure!!
I couldn't recommend Travers more highly and that says a lot!!

I highly recommend this business to anyone that needs a plumber. On Wednesday morning, Jan 28/week of the BLIZZARD STORM OF 2015, I had NO WATER, OMG...my well pump went...with 2 feet of snow outside, extreme cold conditions I panicked, went on line found TRAVERS PLUMBING & HEATING, gave them a call explain my circumstances, they were very curious on the phone and stated someone will be by in an hour...when they arrived, he checked everything and the problem was the pump...Michael the plumber, told me that another plumber would be coming to assist him in removing the old pump and to replace it. They both worked so diligently in the extreme cold conditions, to remove and replace my well pump, that about 3 hours later I had water. I just kept saying THANK YOU, THANK YOU...they were both very helpful, very nice, and they cleaned up. Again I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs A PLUMBER.
