Founded in 2004, Trade Winds Construction General Contracting arose from the entrepreneurial vision of its founder, who aimed to create financial security for his family after welcoming his first child. Motivated by the need for a dependable income, he utilized his diverse construction skills, focusing on home rehabilitation and remodeling. We excel in all construction phases, from new builds and kitchen and bathroom remodels to tackling your honey-do lists.
I have called North County San Diego home since 1985. I began my family here and have raised two wonderful children, working alongside my oldest son. I discovered my love for construction in 1997 when I took on my first electrical job. I subsequently trained with a family member for five years, learning the intricate trade of contracting and home renovation. After perfecting my craft and receiving my contractor's license in 2004, I found that my true passion is partnering with clients to realize their dreams. I then assembled a team of skilled craftsmen capable of executing any project with accuracy. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, fishing, smoking quality meats, savoring craft beer, and caring for my family, chickens, and dogs.

Michelle E.Definite wow factor from the moment people enter our house, I have observed jaws drop and I hear a lot of things like ""breathtaking"" and ""stunning"". Jason worked with an engineer and a designer to entirely transform my house into my dream home, I still can't believe I am lucky enough to be living here. He redesigned the back of the house to add structural support to create an entire wall of bifold doors so we have a continuous ocean view from one side of the house to the other. Every window was replaced with thermally broken aluminum and Jason negotiated with Teza to get me the best price. He added a huge balcony off the primary bedroom with modern cable and metal railings that will last for a lifetime, where I sit with the dogs and enjoy the views while I smoke my cigars. The kitchen has a sink now in an island facing out to the water. We have all new cabinets through the kitchen and whole house, beautiful countertops, and all new appliances. I have my dream primary bathroom with mirrors in reclaimed frames, an accent wall with wallpaper, and we converted the adjacent bedroom into a gigantic walk in closet now connected to the primary bedroom with a barn door. New railings were put onto the stairs that were custom welded for the house. All new flooring was added to both floors of the house, and an entire wall of bookshelves. Most importantly - Jason is meticulous, every floor is perfectly even and every beam precisely placed, and I have complete confidence in all of the structural and electrical work - this house will stand strong in a storm or earthquake. I feel completely safe and happy in my home. I was initially a little nervous about the price, but Jason more than delivered and the house looks better than I had ever dreamed was possible. One of the best investments I have ever made.
