The pipe in my studio started to leak after Total Temp was hired by our condo asso to install a central heating sys in the building. They went to every unit to install a new pipe connection.

The connection point started to leak after TT left. We called our condo asso. A guy from TT showed up two days later. The guy worked for less than an hour, but they charged me for a Sunday with 3 hours over time. (They were here on Tuesday morning around 8AM but they charged for off-hours). They also charged us for their parking ticket and car fuel.

In the bill, they indicated the water damage was from the existing pipe and tried to pass the buck. Fortunately I have evidence from our insurance company. The small leak also damaged my hardwood floor, books and bookshelf and they just tried to ignore this problem.

This is totally unfair. My pipe in my studio had been working fine and never leaked before their very first arrival. They charged me $470 for the issue they caused.

Please be extremely carefully when you call this company for any service, they will rip you off.

Total Temp installed a new high efficiency heating system and water heater at our home. I can't say enough about the experience. Everyone we dealt with was professional and courteous, and the men on the job couldn't have been nicer or more efficient. They left the basement area where they worked in immaculate condition, unlike the business that installed the previous system. Now as the heat comes on we think of them and the company with gratitude. We highly recommend them.

They've also done a lot of work at the graduate school where I work, and they are reliable, efficient, and do excellent work. This is a great company.

Nice enough guy, but after $1000 and over a week of elapsed time problem still not fixed. The guy came initially, was here for 5 minutes, and told me the unit was frozen and he would have to come back in a week. He billed me for a full hour even though I live about 100 yards from the shop. When he came back, he spent the entire day here. One thermostat 'coincidentally' broke while he was here and he 'graciously' replaced it with an inferior part that he had in the truck (looks like crap and has much more limited functionality). I called them back to tell them I was unhappy, that after all this time and $1000 I still did not have AC. The receptionist told me, ""we can send someone to take a look, but I have to advise you that we bill $115 per hour for every hour spent there...."" Buh bye! It was only a courtesy that I called them back, because as a business owner myself I would want to know about terrible service.

I called a different local provider and will post about that experience.

Local HVAC provided great -quick-friendly service. Called them in a cold snap and they where able to respond right away. They found the problem and quickly ordered the part. When the part arrived they quickly scheduled the repair and we we were back operational. Reasonable in price based on a quick response and late Friday evening request for service call. We use them again as well as recommend them.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This company left me high and dry. My wife and I had a Triangle Tube boiler at our home which was acting up last winter giving us error codes. Triangle Tube recommended Total Temperature Control after a Contractor Locator Request on February 13, 2014. Using them was a mistake that I have regretted ever since the boiler stopped functioning completely.

Over the next few months we received multiple visits from Total Temp and spent over $1200.00 on boiler repairs. The technician was nice but was unfamiliar with Triangle Tube's units. He could get the boiler working temporarily but we continued to get error codes and had an extremely traumatic Winter with no heat. I was told by the tech that he ""WOULD NEVER WORK ON A TRIANGLE TUBE AGAIN"". Actually, I still have the entire thread of texts from this technician who recommended multiple parts which we installed AND DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. In fact, the unit caught fire and TTC were the last people to operate the boiler prior to this.

After spending all this money and still having no heat (after being assured that the unit was working) I had a discussion with the owner, John Ambrosino. Mr. Ambrosino suggested we get a whole new unit and offered to personally come to my home to advise us on the best course of action. He refused to refund me for any work done and said the money would be applied to credits towards future work/boiler installation.

We had a pleasant talk but the aforementioned visit never came to fruition as John didn't return ANY of my calls. It got to the point where Jamie, the receptionist at Total Temp sympathized for me. All of the money we paid them to work on a boiler they were recommended to work on was a waste.

Thanks Mr. Ambrosino and Total Temperature Control for leaving my wife and myself (literally) in the cold all Winter. I would be happy to share all of my documentation about my bad experience with anyone who is interested. We ended up replacing the boiler altogether with a heating company that was reputable and knowledgeable. I agree with the other Yelp user, Soren M. who says if zero stars were an option that is how TTC should be rated. Negative even. Last Winter was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. The way that they treated me like an afterthought and basically took my money for nothing is shameful.

Total Temperature Control was referred to me by Whirlpool for repair of my hot water tank. After multiple phone calls and commitments by repair tech 'Don', I never received a call back and was left hanging for several days. Beware of this company. They commit and DO NOT follow through. The tech had told me he'd show up to diagnosis my hot water tank multiple times and each time, gave me an excuse. I then spoke to the main office and the lady was very rude, not friendly and ignorant to my situation. I do not recommend this company.

They came out to ""fix"" our air conditioning unit. Connected a wire, and charged us $100.00. Which was our home warranty deductible. Well it isn't fixed, they won't come back out and they have our $100.00. I would have given them 0 stars if it was an option. Luckily my home warranty is awesome and they will have someone else come out to take a look without paying a ""trade"" fee.

My wife called them emergently because our heat went out, was told by the woman who answered the phone she would page someone who would get right back to us. It's been almost 24 hours and no phone call back.
Horrible.

Wow, if I could give no stars I would. Just called to find out about installing a tankless water heater. I found the model I wanted and Rinnai's website said they were an authorized seller and installer. I spoke to probably the rudest man, who asked me after I explained what we wanted to do and that I wanted to know the price on a specific model heater, ""ok so what's your question"" uhhh yea. I asked him how much was the heater itself again. Got a viscous attitude, he went on and on about not be able to give me a quote over the phone bc he doesn't know what kind of pipes I have. I then explained again, you are listed as a Rinnai seller. Can you just give me a price on the tank. Again viscous attitude and wants to know what he's supposed to be pricing out for me. Goes on and on with an attitude about me wanting a quote over the phone. Again, I tell him I'd like a price for the make and model I JUST gave you for the water heater. He tells me with an attitude that he'd have to call me back. So at this point I say just forget it, I'll call someone else. His reply? ""Ya, go ahead"".

Update: Called Northeast Heating and Cooling in North Andover. Super nice and informative. Gave me lots of great tips and advice and also told me you can't price the heaters separately because they are not allowed to sell them to anyone not authorized to actually install them, so prices are as a package with install. Might be a Massachusetts law, not sure, bc they sell them on amazon, but anyway, waaaaay better customer service. That's how it's done.
