TLC diagnosed an HVAC compressor as faulty, and Rick asked for $4,500 for its replacement but only if paid for upfront the same day of the visit. Became suspicious, and asked for a second opinion from a reputable company. They determined that the compressor was just fine, but a failed capacitor was the culprit. Total repair cost: less than $200!!!!!

And incidentally, asked how much would have cost the hypothetical replacement of a new compressor on that HVAC...answer: $2,500!!!!

No explicit lessons learned are in order here...

I paid over $2200 for a water heater installation. They did not put in a drain pan. It failed Inspection. They protested the inspection to finally get it passed. I don't understand why they did not put it in to begin with as it should be. Do not recommend them. Overcharged for incomplete/half done job.

If you want something fixed and fixed right you will use only TLC! They are the masters of everything they do. They installed my air-conditioning and heating unit. I also recently had a toilet replaced. It was my downstairs toilet. I have Lyme disease and fibromyalgia so getting up the stairs wasn't really an option. Daniel to the rescue!Daniel was on his way home But instead turned around and came to my house to install my toilet. He was professional, kind, personable, capable, and all-around a pleasure to have in my home! Their entire staff are incredible people. They really care about their clients and their needs. I cannot say enough good things about TLC! They are quite simply the best!

Called the day before an unexpectedly early first frost. Josh squeezed us in on a Saturday and did not charge for emergency visit. He was so kind and understanding and thorough as well. Have not been disappointed in this company.

I recently called the plumber out ahead of time to help with a leaky faucet to come out from 3-5pm. No show. Now, this is the second time there was a no show. The first time, they were very polite and said that there was a mixup in scheduling. I said fine and they came out at another time. The service was done properly but at a very high price $$$. But done. So now yesterday, when they did not show up again I was pretty upset. I had to take time off work to get home and sit and wait 2 hours for no one to come by. Again when I talked to the plumber, he ""said"" he showed up at a 1-3 time slot and waited for me. No way! I requested a 3-5pm time slot and had my phone. This is such an inconvenience for me. I took time off and now I still have a leak. Plus this scheduling mix ups seem suspicious and either unlikely or TLC needs a new system that is accurate.

After buying our first house. The first thing we wanted to do was to upgrade our heating and air-conditioning, from my swamp cooler, to central heat and air. TLC is the only company in Santa Fe that I would recommend. I cannot say enough good things about everyone who works there. Not only did they do a stellar job, they did it quickly, neatly, professionally, and perfectly. The gentleman that worked on my house are the most polite, kind, understanding, and wonderful young men I have ever had the honor to encounter. TLC is a blessing!I've never given a five star review before. I wish I could give more stars. TLC is awesome!

Call tlc for my forced air unit not functioning properly. Tech came and ""tested"" my unit. First said my capacitor was blown. Went back onto my roof and then stated my compressor was seized and I needed a new unit. Tech said he was scheduled through July but would come in on a day off to ""help me out"". Charged me 180$ for the initial assessment. Quoted new unit at 5.9K. After watching one YouTube video I went into my roof with a multimeter. Determined quickly the unit was operational. There's a secondary fuse switch I reset. Unit came on immediately. I have three kids. The ""tech"" even told me about loan options for me for this replacement. BEWARE! I absolutely know they do this to the great ppl of Santa fe. I did get a refund, but this is so horrible. I'm contemplating calling the BBB. In fact I did

We had an all around great experience with TLC when a broken drain pipe had to be replaced under the foundation of our house. The job, which included tearing up part of the bathroom floor and foundation was mostly done the first day and completed in two. The guys were very careful to clean up both days and very respectful of our having a toddler and an infant and made sure to inform us of each step along the way. I'd recommend this company from now on and remind Yelp-ers that most plumbers get a bad rap on here. Think of the job they have and the countless complications that come up, even with the simplest of calls. We had already been told by other plumbers it was just a block in the line and to try vinegar to clear it!

We used TLC for the annual maintenance and flushing of the radiant heating system. Despite making an appointment for the service, the technician showed up late. Although the work was performed okay, the technician charged us 90 minutes for 50 minutes of work. The routine servicing of a boiler shouldn't cost $225! Next time I'll try another company.

We called several companies to have a broken pipe repaired. TLC was the only one that returned our call. Demetrios was awesome and repaired the pipe with no problem.
