I am writing this review because appointments (at least 20 NO-SHOWS since Oct. 2012), countless pleadings, cancellation of my Christmas trip to see my 94- year-old mother, and more unfulfilled promises than I could describe - nothing has yet worked to get Dan to finish my project. The most frequent excuse, which boggles my mind, is that he has appontments to give new bids or do other new business. I've already paid for mine but this wonderful, charming man just doesn't show up when he promises - over and over and . . . I'm sure he can do wonderful job on any 1/2- day project you have, but meanwhile he's leaving my big one unfinished since getting my final payment on 12/23/2012. This talented man is a victim of his own success, unable to manage all his commitments.

Most reviews heretofore have been been positive, and most are almost a year old. Pls look in the "" filtered reviews"" for someone else with an almost identical experience as mine, dated 1/2013. Please, Dan, don't self- destruct!

I chose Dan through Yelp and was thrilled that he lived up to the glowing reviews on the site. We scheduled a time on a day that turned out to include a major winter storm, and he called to say he would be a little late. What a breath of fresh air to find that sort of conscientiousness! His work was excellent and the price was very reasonable. I will be calling Total Handyman again whenever we need work done.

Dan was awesome! We were in a time crunch and he and his team were able to to get everything we needed done ahead of schedule. They are very fast, clean, friendly and thorough. You can tell he is doing what he loves for a living from the care he puts into his work. I could not have been happier with the speed and quality of the work he did for us. Dan makes sure that you are absolutely happy with the work he has done before he collects a dime for you. He also stays true to his estimate and does not charge you for the all the extra stuff he does to go above and beyond. He completely installed an overhead light in our garage, that was unusable before, for free. I could not recommend him more. These reviews proved to be true, so glad we used Dan the Total Handyman!

We decided to give Dan a try after reading the great reviews. He was a little hard to pin down to get an estimate done for our project. In fact, he completely forgot about the initial appointment until I called him to ask if he was coming. I gave him a hall pass since I know good contractors/handymen are a hot commodity. His price for our project was fair and once he and his guys started the work they got right to it. Unfortunately, our project has been mostly finished now and we are having a terrible time getting it completely finished. The crew brought scrap from another job that has been sitting in the driveway for weeks, paint touch ups have been left undone, our new doors are now not opening and closing. I have left messages for Dan. I have followed up and spoken with him and gotten a ""sorry and promise to get to it Saturday"". The work was supposed to be completed over the weekend, but not yet. And No phone call to give me a heads up. Time for me to follow up again. I even have a lot more work that I thought I would have Dan take care of (and keep his attention). Not so.

We received one other paint quote, and Dan's was much lower. The work was fantastic, too. They were done quickly, they kept the space clean, and they were so easy to work with.

Found Dan through Yelp, and I was very pleased. Called him that morning and while we had some small hiccups due to weather-related scheduling, he did show-up later that afternoon. I had a terribly backed up sink, but he took care of that and was in and out pretty quickly.

A very trust worthy man who delivers solid service. He's not out trying to scheme you by any means. He's more about helping you and making you happy, then onto the next job. Give him a try.

Dan came by on a holiday weekend and did an excellent job on my plumbing problems. He gave me an estimate on the phone before he came and when he was finished, he charged me exactly what he quoted, even with an additional task.

He was very capable with the two plumbing problems I had: a drippy shower faucet and PVC piping that had come undone under the sink. While he was here, I asked him to replace the caulking around the base of the tub, fully expecting him to charge me more than what he quoted me. The old caulk came off easily and he replaced it quickly with caulk he happened to have with him.

When he finished, he cleaned up the mess that he made and told me that he guarantees his work for a month. More than a month has elapsed, and the shower faucet hasn't dripped once and the drain he replaced under the sink to attach to the PVC pipe is working perfectly. The caulk looks better than any handyman has done before.

I will definitely call Dan for future handyman jobs. In fact, he's coming on Friday to fix the swamp cooler and replace the water valve that feeds it.
