My Freon was low and I simply wanted them to fill it up with two lbs of R22. The technician agreed there was no other problem but maybe some potential leak somewhere and offered to put in some liquid.
They wanted to charge me $595! I protested to the technician and he called the owner to convey my message. The owner wouldn't budge and offered to only lower $50.
I paid them $69 for the trip and sent the technician back. A total waste of time. No wonder they have so many bad reviews. I regret I did not check their client reviews before engaging them.

The next day:
Here below is how the company treats their customer. Remember I already paid them $69 for their trip yesterday which resulted in working on nothing but a waste of my time. I need to report them to the BBB.
After my Yelp post yesterday, today the company sent me this Yelp message below as their response.

Total comfort is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I live in riverside, my wife gave birth this morning and my AC went out so I called these guys being that it's pushing 110 degrees and we can't bring a baby home without AC like that. The tech diagnosis the problem and shares with me that the capacitor needs to be replaced. I call Adam Haines to check the pricing and integrity of these people, since Adam is busy on other jobs I couldn't use him to do the work. However he was kind enough to share with me that the capacitor is a $20 part and should take less than an hour to install. This company wanted to charge me $528!!!!!!! When I let him know what Adam said, he told me he would call his boss to see what he could do, and offered me a 10% discount, still $470 for one hour and a $20 part! I call a specialized store, and sure enough the part is $19.99 and they have it in stock! These companies get away with OVERCHARGING unsuspecting customers. In my opinion this is completely in ethical! I will never use Total Comfort Inc and recommend you don't either. This is a pathetic, company to do business with, and because of it I am now chasing down parts while my wife and newborn are in the hospital.

BE CAREFUL.
Technician was EXCELLENT, Informative and FAST.
However, I had a burnt Capacitor in my AC unit. $20 to 30 dollar part max.
Somehow, I ended up being charge $495 dollars to replace the part & get my AC back up Tech was done in 30 minutes.
They are good at up selling you without you knowing. Adding in maintenance, warranties, future checkups, etc to boost the price WAY up. This is a very dishonest way of doing business. Honest Companies get all my business, this one gets none. Keep looking!

What a great bunch of guys. It all started with the purchase of our home that was built in the 70s. We had Asbestos duct work. We wanted it gone so we called them and some other companies in the orange county register. By far total comfort was not only the best price but also the most reliable when It came to scheduling the appointment (Omar) and actually being on time.
James and Randy came to our home and we felt immediately comfortable with them and actually understood what they were talking about when it came down to the system.
A few days later all the Asbestos was gone and we had a brand-new system and duct work. Thank you to the install crew as well who was led by Jose and Matt. You didn't have to change my broken light but they did

We got a new AC unit installed 2 years ago and I am very happy with the work that was done. We have not had any issues at all. I called to schedule a tune up yesterday and they were able to come today which was great. Jose came to do the tune up which was nice because he is the one who did the installation a couple of years ago, so I knew he would do a great job and it was also nice seeing a familiar face.

Service tech was very friendly and did a good job that took him only about 30 minutes to complete. The parts were less then $30.00. I think the labor was over priced. The total repair was $273.00. This was to replace a few plastic pipes under the kitchen sink. If money is no object use this company, if it is shop around for better price. It cost me around $240.00 for approx. 30 minutes labor.
I spoke to the manager of this company and now have a better understanding of the pricing. The work was good and the customer service was outstanding. You pay for what you get and I feel I got a good job.

Company cold calls me saying they're giving me a courtesy call for service. I said that I have never done business with them and that I'm on the 'do not call' list.
They don't seem to get it. No apologies for interrupting...just excuses.
Don't expect my business.

I had them to my home to replace a thermostat that cost $400 to replace which seems very high. They stated that would give me their unit check service and came back, a week later to check my heater at which time I was told that it had cracks it in and it needed to be replaced. they said they had to shut off my gas to the unit and told me it was extremely dangerous. I have later found out this is not true, just a scare tactic to get me to purchase. Today they called and said they would send out a supervisor to check for cracks and if there arent any I will get a brand new furnace for FREE! Clearly they are not going to give me a new furnace. I told him the other tech showed me the cracks so why do they want to send someone out to see if they are not there now? He didnt know. Clearly a scam to try to get me to purchase a new unit. They also did a bait and switch on my best friend. Told her her pilot light ignitor was broken and it would cost $600 to fix. She had it done and paid for it then they told her they were mistaken and she needed a new furnace, the other fix wouldnt work. She had no choice now but to buy the new unit that they said they would credit the $600 toward. BAIT and SWITCH. Do NOT do business with this company, bad business practices.

I was very disappointed in this company. I had them come and give me a estimate on my a/c do to it not cooling upstairs. This service tech was very friendly but I believe I was being scammed into buying something that wasn't needed. The part he quoted me was over 500.00 along with telling me my freon was low and also a part was burned that would need to be replaced. The quote they gave me for everything was over 1300.00. I said I would think about it. Got another quote from a local experienced a/c company.Paid 165.00 for the part that was needed and was told none of the other things were broken nor did my freon need to be filled. Be real people and quit trying to Rip people off, be honest you'll get more business...

Very bad experience. Not sure it is just the technicians or really reflection of the overall company.
Air conditioning broke, technician came in. First thing he noticed was that the vents were closed and he said that should have stayed open and that could well have caused the system to break Down.
Then I told him we did not do it, and we even never knew it, then must be the previous home owner and must be like that for a while. And I wondered why the previous technician would give us a friendly reminder or pointed it out to us.
Then this technician got very offended and defended it with bunch of bulshit and arrogance. It really frustrated me when he started saying that they are not obligated to tell us any thing until there is a problem.
So they are obligated to check our system thoroughly and gave us recommendations of all expensive replacement options to prevent problem according to what they say. But a simple
and obvious thing like reminding the home owner to make sure the vent.. Is not on their list?
Then a little while later, this guy came and told the problem has nothing to the vent being closed? Then therefore, does it justify that they should never tell us any thing about the vent being closed? No, I don't think so. The problem here is not whether it actually caused the problem, it is the conscience of informing home owner of what they see and what they think based upon their knowledge. If you don't see, it is the matter of experience and knowledge, if you see, and choose not to tell. Then it is concenience. And if you are not sure what happened during previous trip, and defend it in such manner, in my eyes, very minimum, it is arrogance.
