This company is useless and one company that has learned to do a switch and bait. I authorized the replacement of a kitchen sink faucet which should have taken a few hours only with a quoted a price at a few hundred dollars (materials & time). Obviously, they found pipes for hot and cold to be unusable and it ended up over $4,800 including breaking through the exterior house wall to replace a hot and cold line they claim was defective. This job started at 9:30 am with the turning off of the house water and didn't end until 6 pm when the water was finally turned back on and after having 3 different service techs coming to the house as each one had to help handle this simple faucet replacement. Now I have a 4 foot hole in my exterior wall than needs repair and paint. The unbelievable part is after finishing the job they said I now need to replace the sewer line and wanted to provide me a quote. This is one company that I will never use again even though they had been my go to company since 1980. Never again! I say don't get suckered.

What a bunch of frauds! I had always used Torrance Plumbing and Heating but this company also operates under the name ""Ritz Restoration"" Company and is not the locally run Torrance Co. on Western Ave. that had been in business over 40 years. Like the other reviews - they do a bait and switch. The gas co. had inspected my furnace and said I needed the weather stripping around the door to it replaced and the cracks in the door caulked. I called what I thought was Torrance Plumbing and Heating and asked if they could do those repairs and they said yes. I also asked what they would charge in addition to clean out all the heating vents. They said to clean the vents would be $120. I said I'd like that done too. Well, they sent two guys out who said they didn't do repairs and didn't clean vents and I said what did they think they were coming to do? They chalked it off to miscommunication and they'd send the right crew out later. I rescheduled to another day and two different guys inspected the door to the furnace and said they didn't have the materials to do the repairs and would have to come back another day. I said that I still wanted the vents/ducts cleaned. They said they'd need access to the attic first. And then after looking around for awhile, they said it would cost $850. When I said I was quoted $120 over the phone to clean all the vents, they acted like it was a minimum fee and I said I talked to their office person twice and she said the same thing $120 to clean all my vents. After the guy wrote up a detailed estimate for $850, I assumed they would probably try and send me a bill as he didn't ask for any kind of payment before he left - no check or credit card. However, today I noticed a debit of $120 from my checking account. I called the company and she said I had given them my credit card info on the phone in order to reserve my appointment time!! I didn't even remember them asking for it - but don't fall for this trick. They did absolutely nothing for me other than hand me a nicely written estimate and charged me $120. They did zero work - sent out two different crews who did absolutely nothing - lied on the phone about their fees - all while scamming you into giving them your credit card information over the phone to ""book"" an appointment time. And to top it off, they walked on my carpet with muddy boots and didn't bring any kind of booties to put over their shoes. With these kind of shady business practices, they shouldn't be allowed to have a license.

There is a leaking along the bus tub. I called them to check an estimate to fix.
It supposed to be a free estimate. They came to check surrounding bus tub and found out there is no leaking. They called restoration guys to fix the problem. They charged me $179. 00 as a service charge for just 15 minutes.
Before you call them, better to check other company.

do not use this service. They lied to me about the condition of my sewer pipes. Told me I needed $7000 work to the pipes. My second plumber came out and told me there was nothing wrong with my pipes, and did not need any work done at all. wow
I have used this company for years not anylonger...no way

Customer service has gone way down. Recently called them out and was told I needed to replace part of the main sewer line to the street. $900 for 3' section then after they did it I was told the rest of the line actually needed replacing for $7500. The line was still clogged. I originally called them to router out the house lines which worked previously. The clog was still there after paying $900 and found out they didn't even router the house. I told them for the $900 they better come out and do it. I asked for another person to come out and after he did router the house the glog was gone and it is still clear today. The prior time I called them out for the water heater not working I was told I needed a new one. The pilot was out. I insisted on the serviceman replace the thermocouple and it works fine and has for over a year. It was the same serviceman that came out on the sewer line last week! I will NEVER call them back. I was ripped off.

We've used Torrance Plumbing and Heating for 20 years without major complaints. However, our most recent experience with them was extremely disappointing.

A pipe burst under the house so we called Torrance Plumbing. Two men arrived promptly and one crawled under the house to diagnose the problem. After a few minutes they told us it would cost $2200 to repair. While I thought that exorbitant I permitted the work in order to stop the flooding under the house as soon as possible.

Approximately one hour later they said they were done and gave us the bill. The bill they presented was not itemized. It showed only the single $2200 figure. However, they did accompany it with an offer to apply some of the charge to the cost of having them replace all the copper plumbing in the house! For obvious reasons, we didn't inquire what that would cost.

Needless to say, we'll never use Torrance Plumbing again. $2200 for an hour's work and a seemingly shady effort to secure further overpriced work was too much.

Our advice is to avoid them.

[We emailed them a week ago expressing our concerns. No response was ever received; not even an acknowledgement of our email.]

Very poor Customer service. I would not hire them in the future even if it's free. Guy that came to our house was arrogant. They charged us $225 for a 5 minute job to mark the sewer pipe location. All they did was insert the camera and marked the end location for 5 minute work. I helped them plug their instrument and opened the sewer end. On top of it, the other Guy was trying to sell us all other plumbing jobs that we don't need. We asked them to mark another location on the straight line but they refused unless we pay them more. Reluctantly, they marked a second location but still far from where we needed it. We were not satisfied with their work. We were very disappointed with the service. We will never recommend them to friends and relatives.

Not the same since the owner passed away. Don't know what it is about this outfit. They cannot keep a promise. Say one thing and do another. Then they surprise you with the results.

We discovered a pinhole leak one Thursday evening underneath the house. We called Torrance Plumbing on the recommendation of a friend. They said they couldn't send someone out until the next day, and had us turn the water off to the house. The next day, we followed up on the call and they said someone would be there at noon. The time came and went and finally the plumber showed up at almost 4 PM. He took one look from outside the crawl space (and he didn't even attempt to go in), decided he wouldn't fit and told me I needed a smaller person to do the job. He called the office for a smaller guy to come out, but that person was unavailable until Monday. He then told me to call somebody else, then he left. If he would have shown up even an hour later than he was supposed to or given me a call that he would be that late it would at least given me a chance to find another plumber to do the job while it was still light. This left me scrambling to find another plumber late in the day to come and fix the leak. On the basis of this plumber's unprofessional-ism, I give Torrance Plumbing one star, though they probably deserve less. I will let my friend know as well.

THEY ARE THE BEST!! Needed a new water heater for my 3-bedroom home (August, 2011) and they gave me more info on price, quality & options than the other five plumbers I called COMBINED. I picked the unit that suited us the best, and they arrived exactly on time with that exact water heater. They installed it perfectly (even upgrading a couple of things ""to code""), took away the old one, and the final bill was actually $30 LESS than what they quoted me on the phone. And they cleaned up after themselves like they were never there (Nick and Dave). Like I said, they are the best...old world values for sure !!
