Our radiant floor heating gave out just as the weather headed into the teens F. I called every plumbing and heating business in town. Most of them didn't answer the phone or even take a message. Sierra Enterprises didn't have any appointments for several days, but when we told them that it was really cold in our house, the lady on the phone expended their day and gave us an appointment.
They arrived on time, checked out a thing or two, then told us what the problem was and how much it would cost to repair. The price was reasonable and the part was on his truck. The house began heating up again by the end of the appointment. By nightfall our house was back to normal and we were happy customers.
Thanks Sierra Enterprises for doing a good job and for being prompt easy to deal with on a cold winter's night. I would recommend your work to anyone.
Kara R.The first time a wall heater kicked on in my new house, it had a gassy smell, so I called Sierra. A guy came out, checked out my heater, said everything was fine. The heater never turned on again after that. Called to have them come out and tell me why my heater that was ""fine"" was no longer working. Had a 4:15 appointment today, no one showed up. Would NOT recommend.
Eduardo S.Saturday morning. Day before leaving on a trip. Boiler dies, hard, leaking water all over the floor. Panic calls to every plumber in town. David Smith, proprietor of Sierra Enterprises, not only returns my call within minutes but also drives over (on a Saturday), checks out the damage, discusses repair/replace options, and then comes back later that day with space heaters for us to borrow during what was to be a 2-week outage.
Our 40-year-old boiler could not reasonably be fixed. David advised us on options for a new one, answered our many questions, helped us decide how to proceed and what to get as a replacement. He then ordered it, delivered it, and installed it.
Installation was a doozy because the original boiler was a poorly thought out rat's nest. (Those of you who know Los Alamos and the ""I'm a physicist and I can do anything"" mentality are nodding understandingly at this point). David meticulously planned the replacement plumbing, methodically laid it out, and made sure we had a maintainable, reliable layout that would last us for many years.
David is a professional. He plans well, does careful work, and rightfully takes pride in it. He plumbs the way I like to code: understanding that the job isn't done when you walk out, that we leave something that will need to be revisited in the future (possibly by us) and that we have a responsibility to that future person. He is also warm, kind, and a pleasure to speak with.
If you're looking for the lowest bid you probably won't choose Sierra Enterprises. If you're looking for high-quality work, attention to detail, and long-lasting peace of mind, give them a call.
LA Roto-Rooter folks are exceptionally kind, competent, and quick to respond and fix the problem. She does the scheduling, and he arrives to save the day. I've used them for years whenever a plumbing issue arose, and I'm appreciative of everything he's done for me. I ask a lot of questions and he's always full of good ideas and suggestions. The rates are very reasonable, too. They're the best!
Excellent service! They came out quickly for my plumbing emergency, did a great job of fixing the problem, pointed out ways I could save money on the fix, and the charge was almost too low for me to believe it! Plus we chatted for a bit and they are really nice people. I highly recommend!
Very friendly guy and most importantly fixed our toilet that previous plumbers had failed at doing. He definitely knows what he is doing. He is very busy so it might take a couple days before he can make it over, but I found it worth the wait.
Fred returned my call within 20 minutes and apologized that he could not get to me until afternoon as he was booked all morning. True to his word, he called early afternoon to say he was on his way. He solved my drain problem quickly and efficiently, and checked my pipes for problems. He was friendly, affable and a pleasure to do business with. I will definitely call him again if I have a problem.

I own a rental unit in Los Alamos. It shares some plumbing with another rental unit. The landlord of the other unit had roto-rooter do some work. Apparently they had trouble finding his billing address. So they sent me a letter at my tenant's address (arrived Aug 12) telling me that if it wasn't paid by Aug 14 they would put a lien on MY property.
I had nothing to do with hiring them. I would have understood sending me a notice saying they had done some work for plumbing on my unit but hadn't gotten paid. But to jump straight to ""you have 2 days to pay or we're putting a lien on your property"" and relying on my tenant to open the mail addressed to me and forward it to me is unprofessional.
While he didn't get back to me when I left a message Friday early afternoon, he called me back Monday before noon, and was able to come and take care of me later that day and perform a routine clean-out of blocked sewer pipes. Definitely the cheapest to perform that service in White Rock/Los Alamos.
Franny J.We left message after message on an answering machine, when the call was finally returned (days later), the arrogant owner aggravated me with his condescending attitude and lack of professionalism. Never count on RR to respond in an emergency, that is not going to happen. Fortunately, for us, we were able to obtain the services of Waller Plumbing- fast, efficient and courteous.
