Late on a Friday, after my ""regular"" plumber wasn't able to clear a drain line in a 1960's vintage fourplex, I TOTALLY lucked out in finding Ed at TopDog Plumbing.

Ed from TopDog came out and was able to ""jet"" the line and get the water flowing, averting a short term disaster. But he informed me there was still some obstruction in the line. He recommended coming back with a camera to scope the line in order to determine the best approach for a fix.

With the camera, Ed was able to venture down the line, to the point of the obstruction. The high resolution image showed that tree roots had breached the 60 year old cast iron pipe. Then, with the camera detection tool, Ed precisely located the problem pipe under the slab foundation. Yes, this all resulted in some jackhammering and exposing and replacing the damaged section of pipe. But, I believe, with another company, the repair recommendation could have been so much more extensive - and EXPENSIVE!

Many thanks to Ed and Andy for repairing only what was necessary and not seeing this work as an opportunity for a huge upsell! My wife and I are fortunate to have a few rental properties with highly valued long term tenants. For us, big expenses can be a nightmare. That's why, if I could give Ed & TopDog Plumbing more than 5 stars, I would.

Today, I had an after hours, older home, disaster of my own making. Unfortunately, a good steak in the kitchen turned into an almost disaster we could ill afford. Our ""regular guy"", a dear friend, was out of town. HE referred us here. We could not be more grateful. Despite the after hours, ""yuck"" nature, and self-induced circumstances... this gentleman was gracious and kind. He educated me about my older system and the best way to avoid the small disaster I had created on this occasion. He saved us money at least twice that I noticed with my limited experience, nor did he charge for any work he ensured my husband could aptly handle. He was very warm and understanding of the family going on around him, and I thought the way he talked to my 8 pound Yorkie Alarm System was quite a hoot! It is so good to know there are still small businesses in the world running the ways I LOVE TO SUPPORT!! I had been feeling so badly and my hubby was stressed most of the night. This business took amazing care of us, even though he knew we were someone else's long time customer. He was FANTASTIC in every way, and while I wish I had not caused the event itself, we could not have had a better experience or outcome.

I live in Carmichael. I had an electric tankless hot water heater installed. He was very skillful, a good communicator, on time, had all the parts he needed and was pleasant to work with. My only complaint is that he left two 6"" holes in my drywall, which looks shabby.

Topdog Plumbing was a godsend in an emergency situation and very helpful and professional. We needed an emergency fix to a water heater line in an old house with plumbing from 1957. He was able to figure out the issue and create a fix in almost no time at all, at a very fair price (especially considering it was an emergency and we needed the service quickly).
