An area plumber referred me to Russ for a glitchy pilot light in my GE water heater...this after I tinkered with it for some time. After leaving him a message, Russ returned my call a few hours later. He accurately diagnosed the problem over the phone, and confirmed it within minutes of showing up at my house. I was especially impressed by his empathy. Clearly, he was booked for the day, but managed to fix my problem within two hours--this because he knew how unpleasant life can be taking cold showers. Russ was professional, personable and quick. What a pleasant experience. Top Hat can't guarantee same-day service every time, but the skill and heart this company brings to bear is quite admirable.

Had a great experience with Top Hat Plumbing today! Russ arrived and assessed my long list of miscellaneous repairs that needed attention. My list included such things as a clog, installing faucets and a sink, fixing leaking outdoor faucets and water heater, and taking care of a problem toilet and shower (I am not known for taking care of things right away :)). I had a great experience with top hat plumbing. I had a pressure reducer that was no longer reducing pressure, so I called some local places for estimates. Some competitors bids were outrageous for a small job such as this, but the estimate from top hat was what I would consider the fair amount for a job of this size, and also and half of the other guys.

The job is completed, and now my water pressure is back to sane levels without any leaks. He also installed the new one with unions so I could change it myself in the future without having to call another plumber, which is a nice touch.

Russ provided an accurate assessment and quote for the replacement of part of our main water line, a main shut off valve and the required city mandated flow valve.

I called last week and I spoke with Russ; we made an appointment for yesterday 2-4pm for someone to come to our home and give us a quote.
Not only that no one showed up or called to cancel, but although I called and left a message, no one returned my call.
What kind of customer service is this?!
Very disappointed.

I changed the number of stars from 1 to 4; Russ came next day apologizing over and over and recognizing that he discovered some voicemail issues which he will fix.
He gave us a quote, quite High, which made us postpone the project for a while.
Based on our interaction he seems like a solid professional which knows what he is supposed to do.

We called Top Hat Plumbing when we realized our main water pipe into the house was leaking slowly. Russ came out within the day to take a look and fixed everything before the week was out. He is professional, reasonably priced and works fast. Feels good to have a plumber we'll call whenever we have another problem. Doesn't take cards so be ready to use cash or a check.
