BEWARE. This company arrived at my house and looked at the problem. I wanted to know how much it would cost and was told it was $350 just for them coming! Than $150 an hour plus parts. Couldn't tell me if it would take 2 hours or four hours. They never mentioned this preposterous scam when I called. Unethical and unscrupulous.

PS. I live in Essex County, MA., not San Francisco.

Had Tony plumb a commercial coffee shop. Final bill was thousands more $$$ than estimate as he kept creeping up the prices. Hot water heater was done by Home Depot contractor (placed directly on wet cellar floor and he would not fix it) and charged a huge profit on that, but we needed it for inspection and he knew it. Constant issues with drains and he will not back up his own work, but very willing to charge $450 for the first hour to charge you. He price gouges everything he can after he locks you in to a job and the quality is sub par. He is a BS artist.

Don't trust him. Sent someone out to fix a pipe that had frozen in our barn. At first, we were delighted with the service, but then it failed 4 days later. Tony insisted we didn't follow directions correctly, which we did, refused to send someone to fix the problem (at first he said he would, but only if we paid all over again), and then became incredibly rude and actually made up stuff about what we didn't do right. That's $365 down the drain and I would never use him again or recommend him.

Slimy liars and thieves. Refused to give me any prices up front, no biz cards, license numbers, insurance. Shawn works for Tony Gideika, showed up and for 3 hours basically flushed and ran the water and fudged this and that. Then he tried to tell me my toilet was cracked and needed to be replaced. Shawn tried this spray bottle trick that makes it look like water is still running in the back, so the toilet must be broken. Like heck it was. I went down after he left and put some blue food coloring in the bowl...no movement and no leak. A bunch of Balderdash. Canceled the toilet immediately starting a flurry of where's my $950 for 3 hours diddling in the water from Tony. Short story long, Shawn and Tony tried to bill me for $350/first hour $250/hr. after that! All he fixed was the flapper in the second bathroom...charged me $100 for just the flapper. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

They replaced our toilet without us asking and tried to charge us $500 for it when the toilet costs less than $150. They didn't finish the job and then he called another company to actually do the job for them.

I have never done a review for anyone no matter how bad or how good the service was but this was beyond me and I feel the need to warn others about this company. To start they charge 200 just to show up, the 150-170 per hour after. They said that a brand new toilet that was recently installed ha ""something stuck in it"". Then said he had to remove the toilet and try again. Okay. Then i get a text from my mother saying to make the check for 1050. The toilet is still not working. He replaced our toilet with a ""$500 toilet"". it was a glacier bay toilet that costs less than $150 when they are expensive.Then tell us that we cant use any faucet or toilet for a few hours until the other guy shows up. The other guy is from a different company. THEY CALLED ANOTHER COMPANY TO COME AND FIX THE ISSUE. what took the first guy 3 hours plus a new toilet that wasn't asked for... it took this other company 15 minutes and we were all set. for the labor its already by their math $150x3 hours= $450 plus the 200 for showing up= $ 650 bucks and they decided to charge us $1050 after adding the $500 dollar toilet. I have no issues paying for the labor as we had agreed but are you kidding me?! When I tried to speak to them about this he got mad, started yelling saying he was insulted and that i should look at his reviews how dare I say that i was trying to con us. I should of looked at them before hand. They are awful, seriously, the fact that he had to call another company to do a job he couldn't do it was ridiculous! Never do business with these people.

Sent Shawn to do a job that should have taken 1 to 2 hours. The job of installing a cartridge in the shower & new faucet on sink turned into a 5 hour job. Charged me $920 and left me with no hot water in shower & sink. Then called and said for another $1500 they will get me hot water because I need a new heating coil. I said that didn't make sense since I had hot water in all my other parts of the house. I cancelled my check & he took me to court. During court it came to light, that Shawn is an unlicensed ""plumber"", also that he admitted that he installed the wrong cartridge, even though I was told that it was my heating coil. When I asked if it was legal to work as an unlicensed plumber in the state of MA, they said yes it was, which is a LIE. If anyone has had bad business with this person, please file a complaint with the MA Board of Plumbing!! It is not legal to practice plumbing without a license!!!!

What a Liar. Tony was hired to do work in new bathroom. He never did the work. some other guy was there. left behind empty bottles of alcohol. He was unlicensed plumber working under Gideika's license?!!
Also he gave no written estimate. He only said it would be cheaper than the going rate. so i believed him.
Gideika plumbing ended up costing $500 more than the highest of the 3 estimates.
don't trust him. He said it would take 4 days took him 2 1/2 but still charged for 4 days. Each day worked less than 5 hours but charged for 8.....come on Tony...that's not nice...

I found Tony Gideika Plumbing and Heating on Home Advisor. After reading the reviews I decided to give this company a try. In speaking with the owner, Tony and explaining what needed to be done, I set up a date and time a week in advance. The day of the appointment, I received two separate phone calls from two different workers at the company within a 30 minute window of each other (which I thought was a red flag). I had to repeat myself both times as neither of the individuals I spoke with had any idea that an appointment was set up for that day. As I had to leave work early and waiting at my house, I received a call 15 minutes PAST THE TIME THE APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED to only be notified that the worker had to cancel due to an emergency. Due to the circumstances, we decided to give this company ANOTHER chance and a date and time was set for a few days later that week. After speaking with Tony himself, he said HE would be here between an hour span, but guess what.... you got it, HE THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY was a no show once again!!!!. When the hour passed we called and he had absolutely NO idea what we needed work on, which was BEYOND ENRAGING after explaining to him and his workers several times prior. I DO NOT AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO MY WORST ENEMY unless you have time to waste and you don't mind being stood up... ""first time mistake, second time habit.""

My experience was very positive and they did the job well, in a reasonable amount of time and the furnace has not had a problem since. They were here to do a repair that had been done by another company that had failed in a short time.
