Tonkin comes through for us again. Had serious tub leak and tenants were ready to move in. Mike came out and replaced all broken pipes and new parts for tub. Fair price. Good job Tonkin

I'm always hesitant to call a plumber because it seems like I always pick someone who's skills don't match their prices. Horrible experiences. We had a copper water pipe fitting break and needed the pipe capped and repaired. I was already going to deal with the high cost of water damage to my wood floors, and I was not looking forward to calling a plumber.

I called Roy, who was our contractor eleven years ago. He built our addition and works for Tonkin these days. Roy is always pleasant and does quality work. Roy got right to it and the price was fair, not inflated.

I have a few minor plumbing jobs that I've put off that I could live with, all due to avoiding plumber involvement. I think I'm ready to start a check list for all of those put off jobs to be completed on my house. I am very pleased.

Wow, shocked at the 5-star reviews (must be relatives or something). Had an appt. @ 11:00 am this morning, for an estimate for a new sewer pipe to our home. At 11:30 am I called the office to see if just running late or if they are on their way. No ""live person"" when I called, so not sure how others were able to reach someone. Left message - - no return call or acknowledgement of any kind. Called again at 11:50 and again at 1:00 pm.. I cancelled a doctors appointment to keep this appointment and they still have not had the courtesy to call.

Not sure how they decide who they will keep appointments with and who they don't, but I certainly won't waste anymore time on them.

We had called a few plumbers to bid a new outdoor gas line at our house. The project was simple, but Tonkin Plumbing had the most reasonable price for a knowledgeable crew. We wanted our job done professionally and to code and that's exactly what was delivered. Furthermore, when it was discovered that a valve they installed was oriented in a direction that would interfere with the rest of the project, the company had a plumber stop by and spend a few minutes rotating the valve out of the way.
We are very pleased with their work, professionalism, and value, and would definitely recommend Tonkin Plumbing to anyone looking for plumbing services!

I can not in any way recommend Tonkin Plumbing. I scheduled an appointment in advance in order to get time off from work to be home for a complex multi-hour drainage repair. The plumber Scott failed to show up at the appointed time. No one from Tonkin Plumbing contacted me concerning the missed appointment.

Hours after the scheduled appointed time, Scott finally showed up at my door saying that he was diverted to another job. At no time did anyone from Tonkin plumbing, nor Scott, contact me to tell me that he would be hours late.

Upon arriving Scott stated that he would do a partial job today and come back and complete the rest of the job on another day (how nice of them to rob me of another day's pay as part of their solution for missing the original appointment). The whole point was to get the job done on a single day due to the job's complexity and the time required to complete a proper job. Now, miraculously, the job had turned into a simpler job.

For a complete lack of respect for a customers time and for failing to have basic of customer service skills, I rate Tonkin Plumbing 2 out of 5 stars.

Today is the 2nd time we've had Tonkin come out. We are able to get a live person during business hours, reasonable appointments (not weeks out & they check if you have an emergency first thing & save slots for ASAP issues). We've had appts within 2-3 days each time.

Initially we needed to move washer & dryer into the garage from the kitchen so we needed new gas & water lines along with some concrete removed. They showed up right on time. This job was very efficient, clean & they showed us exactly what they'd do, why and worked with what we wanted.

2nd visit (today) we had a slight gas leak (reported to us by Gas Co during free annual furnace check) on the newer gas line leading to dryer. We also needed a new valve on our water heater & a separate fix over at our parent's rental property. They gave a 4-hour window, arrived within the 1st hour of the window and even called ahead to say he was en-route. Owner came personally to check work from first time, fixed that and changed valve & left everything cleanER than we had it! Now he's on the way to the rental and they're great about separate invoices so the rental can be paid out of that account.

All-in-all very a professional and well-run company. Speaks volumes to me that the owner himself responded when we had a problem with something they had worked on previously (looks like a seal that came un-sealed due to heat in garage but we'll get a full reporting from him on invoice too!) and though second job was really small, they don't treat anything as unimportant! We have 4 children and TRUST Mr. Tonkin & his employees and will gladly continue to refer him to family & friends (& here!). My husband is an electrician & knows the trades and thinks highly of Tonkin Plumbing as well.

We've had other plumbing services before with a different company, but oh boy, Tonkin is the best by far. They had Nelson come to work on my water heater today and got so much plumbing education from him. He was very polite, patient and informative. He was able to do a free water pressure check for me. Thank goodness that he checked it, the pressure was at 140psi, YIKES! I don't see Nelson's picture on the company's website, but I was able to get a photo of him and his truck. I am impressed with Tonkin and crew.

My daughter had a major water problem at her home (second leak under the slab) and all plumbers that we consulted recommended re-piping. She spent four days trying to get an accurate proposal of planned repairs and cost from a company that she had used previously. We called Tonkin Plumbing and Phillip responded immediately to our request for an estimate. He arrived on time and was professional and straightforward in explaining our options and costs. After talking with Phillip, both my daughter and I felt a sense of relief. We felt confidant that he knew what needed to be done (very knowledgeable), honest, and that the work would be done correctly. The detailed written proposal was received within 2-3 hours after his visit to her home. One of Tonkin's strong attributes is their communication skills and keeping us informed of the progress in the planned work. When the plumbers arrived, they were neat, polite, and responded appropriately to my questions and concerns. They started to work immediately and knew the plan for this job and performed their work with excellence. They were cooperative in seeing that my daughter had water each night until the job was completed. Even though we added replacing 4 faucets and two shower valves they completed the work within the anticipated time. In addition, they got an estimate from the drywall contractor and coordinated the work plans with him. Tonkin Plumbers deserve 5 stars for this job and I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others.
