Many recognized Kent's dedication to his customers and his honesty, which helped spread the word. Eventually, the demand for their services grew so much that they required a larger office space, prompting Kent and Wendy to renovate their garage for this purpose. By this time, their children had become more independent; their daughter, Danielle, was in middle school, and their son, Luke, was in high school.

Raised in Tiffin, OH, Kent Tong has two sisters and a brother. Douglas Tong, his father, operated a plumbing and heating business from their residence, exposing Kent to HVAC and plumbing from childhood. Kent fondly recalls going on service calls with his father and watching him work, much like he does with his son Luke.
