Tom's Plumbing Service
Company Overview
Second-generation plumber with more than three decades experience, approachable, precise, any porcelain!
Founded in 2001, Tom's Plumbing Service has been dedicated to serving household and commercial clients in Eugene, OR for three decades. Tom, our founder, is a family plumber with 50 years in the industry. The connections he has built in the industry has expanded his skills, allowing him to handle not only residential jobs but also a variety of locally owned businesses and corporate franchises and non-profits.
“A plumber safeguards public health,” is a saying that Tom's father, Luke instilled in him at a young age, dating back to when he first worked alongside his father at just eight years of age in Brooklyn, New York. Not long after, Tom's family relocated from the coastal region to San Diego. While most kids enjoyed the California sun, Tom took on an apprentice role as a plumber at fifteen. “Take pride in every job you do,” is the motto he has followed since he began and continues to practice each day.
Motivated by advice from former bosses about launching his own business, Tom decided to pursue that path.
Continuing a family tradition, Tom has committed 40 years to helping the local community. His extensive network in the plumbing trade has expanded his expertise, allowing him to manage not only residential jobs but also a variety of locally owned businesses and large franchises and community services such as University of Oregon, Creswell Middle, Lane Community College, Cultural History Museum, Youth Programs, Red Lobster, and numerous additional clients.
His goal is rooted in his commitment to his profession and integrity. Tom prioritizes the results and finds satisfaction not only in doing the job right but also in ensuring his clients feel at ease that when he leaves the job site, the issue will be resolved and their dilemma will be gone.

Update: After beginning the process of filing a complaint with his licensing board, the owner contacted me and, after I provided extensive informatio about PEX pipe and several more weeks, replaced the PEX pipe with copper at no charge.
However, despite numerous requests, he hasn't addressed our other concerns.
I have the text messages and voice mails to prove the plumbers weren't waiting for an hour outside our house (and so should not have charged us for that time). And there has been no response to doing work on our sink that wasn't requested--or needed--and leaving it in a broken, unuseable state.

If I could leave no Stars it would still be far too generous. My mother hired this company a few months ago to install a new toilet. The technician showed up did not measure the toilet, went and got a toilet That was not of the brand that my mother said she wanted and then because he didn't measure the Toilet it was far too small and he had to leave with the toilet to go get another one. Again not bringing one of the two brands that she said she wanted. Not to mention on top of that they charged labor time for him having to take the toilet back to get a new one because he messed up and didn't measure. The toilet is a Gerber and it is a piece of garbage that hardly flushes. It's way too small and it has terrible reviews online. And the technician, though he was nice enough, did the most god awful job Installing the toilet, reference the pictures below. So she ended up with a toilet she didn't want, that was too small, that hardly works and that looks like it was caulked by a four year old. And then Tom charger her $1100!!! It was only after leaving a terrible review did he return $300 of the $1100, but still $800 is $800 more than she should have paid for the massive disgusting monstrosity of a toilet installation that took place.

We asked Tom's plumbing to move a drain and configure our space for shower only use. I appreciate that they came by on the timeline we needed but they billed us $1,100 for two hours of work. They also didn't mention nor move the water controls so that the tile workers could install the backer board. As a result we had to call in another plumber service. That service only billed us $400.00 for the same 2-hours timeframe. I'm still waiting for a call back and explanation of charges but it feels as if they just took advantage of my wife being home.

Run away! We were charged $500 to connect and install a dishwasher, which was so sloppy it collapsed in six months. The pros whom we hired to repair the damage were shocked at the shoddiness.

WOW! I am so glad to hear that I wasn't the only person who had terrible experience with this company. Tom came to our job and messed everything up! He thinks he is above everyone and thinks he is made of gold. We had to get a new contractor to fix everything he touched. (Can you say opposite of the Midas touch?)
Next time, I am going to check yelp before using a plumber.

This company was hired to do the plumbing on my new house build. He changed his bid in the middle of the build raising his price and held up the build and other contractors until he got his way. He plumbed the water lines to the vanity with two sinks in the master bath incorrectly and I told him it was unacceptable and told him to fix it which would have required him to move one of the water lines over about 12 inches. He didn't do it and chose to cut the back out of the bath cabinet and drawers to get it to work. I didn't find out about it until a few weeks later when I moved in and noticed the butcher job to my cabinet. We also were told by the other sub contractors that workers were smoking pot in their truck. He also sent one of his employees over to the build with his infant daughter which I found unacceptable. This company is terrible, lazy and rude and I would never ever recommend them to anyone. You will notice that he also will list his company name in several different ways and it appears that it may be his way to get away from his negative reviews.

Wish I could give ZERO stars since they cant even call to let us know they are coming to the job. This company needs better customer service. Or perhaps a scheduler to keep track of who they are promising to be on site and never showing up. I needed a plumber for a pipe leak at a Noodles & Co restaurant for the noodle maker. I spoke with the owner Tom, who said he could have a tech on site the next day around 10:30am. But that was as early as he could promise, which was fine by me. I just made it clear that this was a high priority and needed someone the next day FOR SURE. 10:30 comes and goes and when I called Tom at 11:30 to let him know that his tech had not arrived, he said that his tech was still on another job. When I asked when the tech would be available, he got very defensive. As if asking the question was wrong in some way. He then said that he was cancelling the job with us and to never call him again. That he doesn't run on my time. Then goes on to say that he is too busy for me. Well, next time don't promise people to have a tech on site, then get mad when your customer asks when the tech might be coming. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY~

Best Plummer in town. Hands down. Came to our home on his day off and fixed a major pipe issue. Couldn't be happier.

We called Tom's Plumbing from the phone book. Truthfully, I didn't really care what company came out, as long as they hurried and fixed my downstairs bathroom. Under the sink was broken, and all I knew was something had gone terribly wrong in our new home we had just bought. I called in a panic, Tom's crew was out and busy on another job, but when he heard how worked up I was, Tom must've dropped everything he was doing because he came out himself. He quoted me for a few parts that he said I needed and his hourly fee. When he was done more than an hour and a half earlier than he projected, he charged me LESS than the original quote. Who does that in this day and age?

I cannot speak for the whole company. The man who came to our house is Ken. We paid $500 to replace the bath faucet in our home. He left a huge hole in the wall between the spout and the wall. I could stick my whole hand in it. He left a tube of caulk. When I looked I couldn`t believe it. I texted the owner and this Ken. I said he wouldn`t leave such and unprofessional job with a hole in the wall at his wife or daughter`s home. He came back two days later and when I questioned him he sheepishly said ""at least I came back"". He put a metal ring between the wall and spout and when. I asked him why he didn`t put it in before he said ""I didn`t have it"". I said ""you should have gone to get it"". It still doesn`t look professional. We should not have caulk showing anywhere for a $500 job. This company charges more per hour than some others but my husband`s friend referred the company. I would not refer this company to anyone. I put one star in simply because I couldn`t proceed with no stars.
After I contacted Tom, he came here with this Ken and they spent over four hours fixing his mistakes. Everything has been made right.
