Our sewer injector pump stopped working and it could've been a half a week of us having to find a place to use the commode and take a shower. Called Tom's Plumbing and they arrived within hours to address the problem. It's a messy job, but their performance was anything but. What a wonderful attitude they had and their work was done professionally and in a diligent manner. I highly recommend, first class in all the categories. They also have done other work for us and we've always been extremely satisfied with their service.

Tom's is so professional and responsive! Really great! They come right away, fix the problem, are reasonably priced, and super nice. They've been out on several occasions and always solve the problem quickly and efficiently. They have replaced our water heater, fixed leaks in our house, double checked the radiant heat, and replaced the dryer vents.

Our toilet flooded and made a huge mess, called Tom's plumbing they came right away fixed it in no time! We worked with them before and always had good experience

They overcharged us, saying we owed for 1.5 hrs. of work (@$150/hr.) when the plumber who came did no more than 1 hr. of work. He lacked a supply item and had to leave to go back to the shop and came back 20 minutes later. When done, he sat out in our driveway for 10 minutes and didn't leave until my husband walked out and saw him still there some 10 minutes later (doing what we're unsure). When asked to review the bill, we were told they use ""GPS tracking"" and charge ""portal-to-portal"" meaning from the moment their driver leaves the shop until the job is completed, including time to write up job summary, etc. I've never been charged for drive-time to a job by any tradesperson. When asked how they can justify this given the possibility of needing to go get gas, stop for a bathroom break, slow vs. fast drivers on road, etc., got no answer. Not happy with this first experience and judging by the many other reviews here mentioning over-billing, it seems there's a well-established pattern.

Maybe they are really busy, but they are very unresponsive and also sent out someone who seemed ill-equipped to handle our straightforward plumbing issue. Then they got their billing totally mixed up and were hostile in following up (when it was their billing mistake)-- really unprofessional.

These guys showed up on Friday late afternoon to fix a main log clog. We were so appreciative of their excellent and timely service as we had called many others that simply wouldn't come out on a Friday with late notice. They fixed our emergency and we are grateful. Good job guys!

I'd give them 0 if I could. They are the only plumbing outfit that will pick up the phone in the area and we have been forced to call them on several occasions. They charge $300/hr including their travel time if it's a weekend. They have misdiagnosed problems and tried to hook us into expensive unnecessary projects on several occasions. Just because they are one of the only shops in the area that will actually pick up the phone and send some one out does not mean they are a good business. I will never call this company again or pay them for doing nothing again.

Our water heater wasn't working properly so I called early on Friday and Dave came by at noon to check it. It was actually leaking and needed replacement so he told me if they had one in stock, he could replace it right then. The new one was delivered in less than an hour and Dave had it installed before 2:30. This could have been much worse right before the weekend but these folks jumped right on it and got it done. Dave is also a great guy to work with.

Came right out and replaced the faucet head. Took the guy about 3 minutes. Said they'd send the bill.

Tom's Plumbing's overcharging practice is another way for them to say to customers: ""We don't care about you except that we can take more of your money than we earned."" Another word for this overcharging practice is ""theft."" Really disappointing to see this in a wonderful community like Gualala.

Tom's plumbing knows your options are limited, and they exploit it. That cynicism and lack of regard for customers is reflected in the other reviews here, and it is worse than the blatant gouging. Especially when they know you have no other choice in town. (They further limit your options by refusing to take credit cards.)
