100% avoid this company at all costs - Worst HVAC experience I have ever had after owning 3 homes and having them all serviced mutlitple times. This is how Tom Drexler treats its local military personnel, and if you look at their other negative reviews you can see how they treat the elderly population of Louisville as well, it is disgraceful.

I could go on all day about the predatory and shady practices this company employs, OR their outrageous costs, but I'll just capture the highlights hoping to save YOU money and avoid working with this incredibly scummy and illegitimate company.

I originally called Tom Drexler at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday August 31st, and they said they would be able to assist me. Did not provide an exact time, but said the tech in Elizabethtown only had one job before me and would be arriving shortly.

I called again at 6 pm, 7:30 pm, and 9 pm. Each time they assured me someone was coming and they were just on their last job in ELIZABETHTOWN. Finally when someone called me that would actually come, the technician stated they were on their way from Louisville. This should have been my first red flag, but it was extremely late and my house was extremely hot, so I continued to be patient. Of note, the service was not complete until 2:45 a.m.

When my tech JASON arrived he diagnosed the issue very quickly as a blown capacitor, but charged $350 for diagnosis, on top of the service charge, parts, and cleaning of both units. Not to mention I was accused of turning away an earlier technician, which absolutely never occurred. Three parts were installed which were extremely expensive. I researched nationwide averages for all 3 parts, and Tom Drexler is at the very top for price, or even over the stated national range, but those aren't even the worst prices.

Originally my tech JASON told me I would be charged for a late night charge, even though I called at 4pm and was told a technician would be over soon, I had to negotiate removal of this, and had to continually negotiate down all their charges. JASON continued to act like he was doing me a favor but all in all I was originally charged ~$2900 for what was less than an hour of actual work to replace the parts and clean the inside and outside units.

Further, my technician had to speak with my home warranty company before starting serrvice. Unbeknownst to me, JASON lied to my home warranty company and assured me it would be no issue, a week later it is causing me serious issues on getting reimbursed for this company's unbelievable prices.

I was able to further reduce the price with a military discount and signing up for their membership. HERE is where another LIE was said right to my face by JASON my technician. He told me I could sign up for the membership and cancel immediately, or pay month by month.

This membership saved me a lot on my bill that day so I signed up and planned on just cancelling soon after if I no longer needed it. When I go to cancel it, the terms and conditions state that I will be charged the FULL YEAR regardless of how many months I've used it.

This company overcharges, lies to you, scams you, and has general, terrible business practices.

I should have been skeptical of my technician JASON from the very start, if someone has to repeatedly say they're just trying to 'be honest' with you, theres a good chance they are lying to your face and trying to charge you for as much as they possibly can.

I was very tired and trying to fix my HVAC system for myself and my family, but I absolutely should have never trusted Tom Drexler and I highly recommend you take your business eleswhere.

My pictures show their invoice doesn't show exact prices, which is extremely common and even standard business practice for service industries, but not for Tom Drexler, and it shows what I received when I tried to email them for assistance.

Made appointment on December 30,2022 for Thursday January 5 2023 was told could not give exact time so I requested it to be in morning was told okay would call that day to give time after cleaning everything from around and under kitchen sink called company after 1000 am to get up date on when they would arrive was told they would not be coming but I could reschedule for next Thursday or Friday unbelievable inempt company will never deal with them again
