Do not use this company. They are unprofessional and unreliable.
I had scheduled an appointment for repair work several days in advance on my one day off. They gave me an appointment window and then cancelled on the day of the appointment when I called them to see when to expect them because they were late. I do not think they had any intention to actually contact me. The phone lady said there were more important issues than mine and I would need to reschedule for another day. Would have been nice to know that this was a not a real appointment because I could have booked with a reliable company.
Samuel K.My wife and I scheduled an estimate with Tom Drexler at a time and date that worked for the company and ourselves. The day came around we received a call at our appointment time where they told us they wouldn't be able to make it out. I understand things come up so I wasn't quick to judge. Once the rep was able to make it out he was very polite and professional. He explained what he was going to do, very thorough.
Once our appointment came around, 10 minutes before our appointment they called to tell us they weren't coming out. The reason they gave was because recent storms have caused people to lose running water and flooding. I understand that, but this is twice now that they called the day of our appointment, at our appointment time to tell us we were being bumped.
Like I said I understand things happen but I find it extremely unprofessional when they call when they're supposed to be here telling us they're not coming. My wife rescheduled her day twice for this. Based on other reviews this is a common problem. I've also noticed that Tom Drexler also comments saying they apologize but apologies only go so far.
I would not recommend this plumber unless you don't mind wasting time.
set up appt online with their form. Entered cell phone number etc so they could contact me. Received email from them saying I would see rep at the time I chose. Sat. Waited. No rep. Called in like 12 minutes before end of the two hour window I had selected. They had a phone number in their system I had over 7 years ago. They did not update phone from the online form I completed and no rep was going to come. they said rep would be here next a.m. between 8 and 9. I am writing this at 9:17 because I have now sat TWO different days waiting on a rep and he is a NO SHOW. When I called in to complain they seemed to not care at all that they had inconvenienced me twice and were losing a customer.
Hannah E.I had Tom Drexler come to my house to fix a 1ft section of my sewer main and put in a clean out. I had already dug up the pipe, so this job would probably take 1 hour. They originally priced this work at well over $2000. From the look on my face, the guy quickly started dropping the price. They eventually offered $1184. I called another plumber who did the work for $500. That's right...1/4 of Drexler's original price. I am a 24 yr old female homeowner. I feel confident that they were planning on playing my (appeared) ignorance. I will say that the employee that came to my house was very nice and professional. It is not his fault. I assume the company advertises $99 unclogging services and then when any other work needs to be done, they already have people's business so they offer outrageous prices. I would recommend that you go to a hardware store and ask for a small independent plumber recommendation.
Stephen D.Was suppose to show up between 11a and 1 pm due to a plumbing emergency. Business called approx 1 hour prior to arrival and stated that they were having other emergencies and it would be 5 days before they could get to mine. In the mean time my septic tank is backing up in my basement. Never again.
On October 16th, we had an appointment for a running toilet in a home we had just purchased. When we were billed at the end of the appointment for $583, it seemed high. However, we had no experience with issues like this in the past, and by this point the service was completed, so we felt we had no choice but to go ahead and pay. Two months later, we had the same issue with another toilet. At the suggestion of a neighbor, we called another plumber. They serviced 3 other toilets in our house for $244. When we told them how much me paid for our last service appointment, they knew automatically that Tom Drexler must have been the culprit. According to this plumber, Drexler is known for excessive billing ... especially when the man of the house is not present for an appointment (as was the case with us)
1/7/15 UPDATE - I strongly refute the claim that they are trying to correct this problem. We've made this same complaint multiple times directly to Tom Drexler, as well as on different social media outlets. NOT ONCE has the company tried to contact us or rectify the matter. Their ""apology"" is a PR stunt to help their online reputation in my opinion. In fact, if you look at their other apologies on this site, it is the exact same verbiage with the exception of a few words here and there
1/12/15 UPDATE - in response to Tom Drexlers claim that they spoke with ""the customer's spouse"", that too is a lie. I double-checked with mith my wife and she never received any follow up correspondence from Drexler, or any attempts to clear up this matter. And again, if you look at their latest apology, it is the same one they use on other websites to respond to customer complaints. I'm glad to see that their unpaid intern has learned how to use the ""copy and paste"" function on Microsoft Word.
Terrible customer service. My house had repair work done using his company during the closing on my new house by previous owners. The work was supposed o have a one year warranty. This company keeps making excuses and saying they didn't receive payment from previous owners. My realtor called and found out that it was paid and I do have a warranty. I call back to schedule repairs on the poor work they performed. They again tell me that they can't repair because account balance wasn't paid. I explained that my realtor just called and verified that it was paid. I was told to have my realtor call to schedule my repairs! Now the faucet has been leaking under the cabinets for 2 days because they don't know what they are talking about! I would never recommend this company. Bad morals, poor quality of work and employees that don't know how to deal with the public! Find someone else if you are looking not have a hassle!
PLEASE BEWARE. Would NOT recommend electric division.
Told ""free to diagnose problem"", not in my case. The technician stared at ceiling fan,
indicated it could be several problems. Wouldn't know until he ""looks at it"". Quick trip
up ladder, twist to remove cover to wiring, look at wiring, remove wall switch.
This was considered ""work involving tools and labor"", thus resulting in fee of
$172 w/no resolution(coupon of $44 applied after complaint)Quoted ADDITIONAL cost of $313 to install new fan, not incl. cost of fan that I would provide. I questioned technician, he became confrontational. I was very uncomfortable. Found myself apologizing for my reaction to the fee & questioning charges. I called to voice what happened, customer service offered to refund amount, while indicating they considered charges fair for the ""work"" the technician supplied.
The technician gave different version of events. I was told he had to take the fan apart. This did not happen other than what I indicated above. The only wrongdoing admitted on their part was miscommunication between myself & their company regarding what is considered ""diagnosic"". Instead of full refund, I requested partial, that we meet in the middle, because I was made to feel that I was in the wrong, they supplied service. I felt like a deadbeat questioning why I was charged.
Chad C.I recently had a wonderful experience with Tom Drexler plumbing. A wonderful experience is very rare in this industry. I've had two other plumbers come out to my home for the same issue, and neither of them resolved the problem. I called Tom Drexler plumbing and they answered the phone on the second ring. They answered a few of my questions and were able to schedule an appointment within two days. The morning of the appointment someone from the company called to confirm the appointment and they also emailed me a photo of who would be coming to my home. I thought that was a very nice touch. Jimmy was our service technician. He was friendly and was good with the kids, who are running around in circles. He identified the problem quickly, and took care of it in about 35 minutes. He even took care of another small leak we were having while he was already there. Probably the biggest surprise was there was no mess to clean up when he left. I have enough trouble cleaning up after myself. Thanks Jimmy! From now on when friends ask me for a good plumber, i'll tell them to call the plumber with the name in his number.
Our Service Tech Jeremy Uptain was very professional, polite and very neat in his appearance, along with a great attitude.
I drove around the neighborhood and saw that he completed service on our neighbors. We needed someone quickly and after calling his office they oked him to service our pipe leaks, Of which he did da good job!
My problem was that we felt that due to our somewhat emergency needs we were over charged by Several $$ hundred dollars. I will NOT be recommending your company in which I am one of two residents who other residents call for recommendations for your type of services.
