First appointment was weeks out. OK, people are busy and help is hard to find. I told them in advance I wouldn't be home and where the key was. Said I would get a phone call 45 minutes before. At 5pm, I get a call saying 15 minutes out. Ok, have the technician call me when he arrives. Never called. Left a card. Then the owner said the tech nician called 3 me 3 times. No record of that call. Tried to insinuate I was in a dead zone.. nope. So I waited for nothing. Never again. Lying and argumentative is no way to run a buisness. Found a guy who came out in 2 days. $100 for 2 fireplace servicings.
Ed T.Matt Calloway is fanatical about plumbing, heating and cooling. And all things septic. You should have seen the grin on his face as he descended into our septic tank to inspect things down there. He blesses the boiler he installed each time he comes to do his seasonal check-up on our radiant heating system (barefoot in February!), and he's absolutely ecstatic about our new Moen faucets. Best of all, when something isn't right, he is just as fanatical about making good on his work and his promises. What he needs is more mini-Matts and they'd all make a fortune doing excellent work as the seashore's most passionate plumbers.
Fred G.Highly overpriced. Charged me $500 for less than 2 hours work. Even had the audacity to charge $168.00 for having to use an extension ladder to repair a gas fireplace vent on the second floor not to mention 4% surcharge for using a creditcard. Material cost couldn't have been more than $20.00. Absolutely would not recommend or ever use them again!
The facts. Made an appt. and waited until 5:45 PM for someone to show up. Was told that in the future we could ask for first appt. in the morning. However, husband was told when he called to make the appt. that you could not request first morning appt. Given a price- started to write check. Wrong price- new price- now it was higher. Nothing was repaired. You be the judge if you want to use this company- just wanted to share our experience.
Anthony D.My 89 year old mother-in-law's boiler stopped working on Sunday and she was in a panic. I went down the list of the HVAC contractors closest to her home and starting calling. After getting answering machines for the first few companies, I called TLC and Matt answered. Matt said he would arrive in about an hour (which he did). Matt fix the boiler and got the heat running !!!! Thank you Matt...terrific service !!!!
Matt the owner did a good job servicing my fireplace but beware! He put the cover on improperly and it started to fall off and when I called to have it placed properly I didn't want them to go out of their way so I suggested they come when in the area. I was told what day that would be and as far as I was concerned I was on the schedule. I called at 5pm to see where he was. I was told by Matt that he would be on his way. Then the owner Matt called me at 7:20 to tell me I wasn't on the schedule after I waited 2 1/2 hours for the technician to arrive. He proceeded to Yell at me and blame me for braking the cover and he was very confrontational and rude. I was very offended and at this point it was 7:30 at night. I said I would wait for his technician if he would come after he was completed with the other house in my area. His employee was very nice and arrived about 8:15 and we fixed the issue. I would never recommend this company to anyone. No one should be spoken to this way and I feel sorry for the people who work for him.
Kathi H.I highly recommend TLC Mechanical and Matt, in partiular, for excellent service! We lost our AC on the hottest day of the year! (Of course!) It was a Sunday around 6:00 pm. when we realized the house was awfully hot and that our AC was definitely not working. I began calling about 8 to 10 HVAC companies and either got voice mail or an offer to come on Monday to take a look at our unit. Several of these companies were advertised to be 24/7 service, so needless to say, I was pretty disappointed. Matt came to our rescue, arriving close to 10 pm. He had to go up on the roof to check things out, wound up going back to his office to get a part and finished up the job around midnight! The hum of our AC unit was the sweetest sound ever! My grandson, daughter and granddog were VERY happy! We all slept well last night and want to say a huge thank you to Matt for his professionalism and kindness in helping us out!
Called because I was referred. Told That if I wanted service this week it would be $20d0.00 to come out, but next week would be 50.00. Kind of turned me off.
Matt was very rude and unprofessional. Used a string of vulgar words and was openly hostile. My company will not be doing business with him in the future. I would recommend everyone else do the same.
Matt has done numerous jobs in our home from renovations to handling emergencies. He is always reliable and does great work and consistently has been a pleasure to call. We feel lucky we stumbled upon such a great guy and his business!
