So I'm not one to normally air my dirty laundry on social media but I hope to do this to save someone else from being completely ripped off like I was. My midwest friends. Do not under any circumstances hire Brandon Timberlake or Timberlake Remodeling. After over two years we finally are understanding how much of a con man this guy is.
I was recommended this contractor when we first moved out here to remodel our home and was very pleased with his quote, and demeanor. The fact he asked for 80% upfront should of been a red flag especially when we are talking $80,000 but it was a substantial remodel of a historic home and I had never underwent something so extensive so i gave him the benefit of the doubt.
Over the next two years a lot of work was started. None of it was finished and after $162,000 we are left with nothing but a mess. The most eye opening experience was when the City contacted us told us he lost his license to do business within city limits 4 months after we hired him and that he wasn't authorized to do the majority of the work we hired him to do. Since then we've had to bring in multiple other contractors, electricians, plumbers, windows installers, and flooring experts who have all categorically agreed that we were completely taken advantage of.
They pointed out the dangerous wiring conditions, the shoddy cabinetry, the lazy floor job, the sub par framing, and just the plethora of errors that were done by this ""expert"" Con man I mean handyman or technically.... Contractor?????
At this point all I have to do is hope that our Lawyer is able to get some sort of justice for us. This will ultimately be known as one of the biggest mistakes of my life and it's cost us dearly.
