Had two services by Tim Whistler now and they are great. Easy to communicate with via yelp and email. For my sewer inspection they spent the extra time to trace the line to the exact point of insufficient grade and explain what it will mean long term. Fully explained all findings and left the house exactly as they found it. Would gladly use them again.

Called them after a water pipe broke and they arrived an hour later. Great service and very reasonable pricing. Feel very fortunate we were able to find them on yelp and highly recommend them!

We called about a clogged toilet on a Friday. They came out to look at it same day. Said they couldn't actually do the work until Monday (unless we wanted to pay overtime) but it would be $500 to snake the drain. Fine. We waited until Monday. The guys worked for an hour, cleared the drain, asked me to pay $500, and then the toilet stopped flushing again. The crew came back inside and continued to work on it for another hour. Unsuccessful. They kept the $500 and suggested we wait another 3 days and then do some camera diagnostics to the tune of another $300-400... with no resolution in sight. No way.
Called another plumber and he was able to come over same day, snake the drain and clear it within an hour. We've had zero problems with it since. And it's our 1st floor bath which gets used multiple times a day.
Confused as to why this 5-star company couldn't fix the problem. We reached out to Tim who said his guys did $500 worth of work and refused to discount the service. Moving forward I suggest that Tim's team be clear about this when providing proposals- they expect to be paid in full whether the job gets done or not.

*update* After seeing my review, Tim followed up with me. He came back to give my basement another look and his assessment was that it is probably a ground water leak, not a plumbing leak. I am bumping my review to 4 stars for his willingness to try to improve my impression of his company and for his willingness to explain his assessment. I appreciate the effort; however, I still can't give them 5 stars because of the frustrating first experience.

They responded quickly, but when they arrived they couldn't find the source of the leak. I have a recurring wet spot on my basement floor that is at the base of the wall. The plumber said he couldn't figure out where it was coming from but he had to charge me a $125 fee for showing up. I asked him to cut into the wall and look for pipes so he cut a 6in by 6in hole and said he couldn't see anything. Not sure what I am supposed to do, but my problem was not solved by these guys.

We had a list of plumbing work to be done and Tim Whistler Plumbing and Gas Fitting were fantastic! They gave us a great estimate, and provided us updates using the HouseCall app. They told us what needed to be done and what weren't necessary fixes. They made a stressful situation not so stressful.

I've used Tim Whistler Plumbing multiple times, as the house we bought 7 months ago seems to have a different plumbing issue each month. FIrst and foremost, Tim helped us resolve a massive main sewer line issue that needed WSSC involvement and us moving out of our house for four days. It was a total stressful nightmare, but Tim advocated for us to WSSC and was always available for questions or to come by. His team has also done easier jobs like replace a toilet, snake lines, replace a sump pump and replace the garbage disposal. Several times he or a plumber came by to check something and didn't even charge us.

Tim and his crew provide great customer service, fair pricing and quick response time. I like the online system they use that sends me a text message when the plumber is en route -- very helpful.

I feel like the two-star review below isn't fair and should be taken with a grain of salt. I compared costs for multiple jobs and Tim's rates were comparable, or less, than other plumbers. This stuff is expensive in general! And the equipment he installs has solid reviews online and seems to last longer than other equipment -- so I see it as a long-term investment that will save me money over the long haul. And as far as whether the customer service response was rehearsed? Hasn't ever been my experience, and the fact that the company gave that person a refund is testament to how fair they are. Perception is a person's reality, I guess, but the fact that there's all five-star reviews here and one two-star review should tell you something.

Tim and Frank are the best plumbers you can find.
I hired this company for removing gas pipes for my fireplace and I keep bringing them back for more plumbing work to my house. I told them that they are like drugs ,""addictive"" in good sense.
They do work according to the codes and they do it right or they do not do it at all. They are on-time and communicates well and they have an app that will send appointment information, when the tech is on the way and when the work is completed etc. This is a pretty decent and organized plumbing company. I highly recommend them.

CAVEAT EMPTOR! I hired Tim Whistler Plumbing based solely on the reviews here. But anyone considering their services should absolutely, positively get an estimate before they start work because their rates are what I consider ""eye-popping.""

I am like a lot of people - I wait to call a plumber until I have enough little plumbing jobs ready because I have always been charged a per hour rate and for the cost of parts. But neither the customer service person nor the plumber told me that Tim Whistler Plumbing charges for each ""service provided,"" meaning a flat fee for each service to whatever individual sink, toilet, etc. They charged me $650 for two hours of work - to clear the drain lines of three sinks and two toilets, and also replace an $8 part in a toilet. I was told I was given a discount because I had multiple plumbing issues. Let that sink in -- $650 for two hours of work was the ""discounted"" cost.

I called to object because Tim Whistler Plumbing did not tell me about their pricing scheme prior to completing the work (I mistakenly assumed reasonable time and parts rates). They eventually refunded $200 so I paid $450 total. I believe this was still far more than what others might charge for what I got. The most troubling part of this ordeal was how practiced their response seemed when I informed them that they did not tell me their prices. It struck me that the customer service person had heard it before. She actually initially told me I got a ""good deal"" and that most plumbers now charge per service and not time. But, after checking around, no one I asked (including realtors) had a plumber charge this way. Perhaps she was mistaken.

I learned my lesson: always get an estimate. I can't say Tim Whistler Plumbing is shady, but buyer beware.

Tim and his team is excellent! They promptly replied us with text on possible causes, so i called the gas company to come out to take a look. It's not somehting the gas company can solve. So i called the water heater company, and found out we do need Tim's service to replace the broken sensor. Tim has been very prompt and professional throughout this process. They come twice to fix the problem. There is finally hot water in the house after 3 weeks! Can't thank him and his team enough.
