reliable / knowledgeable / super fair priced / professional / on time / trustworthy and most importantly HONEST !!! I got three estimates to do a oil to gas conversion and the other two companies both and Nassau told me prices thousands over Tim Daniels and wrote down all of these things that didn't even have to be done and we're charging me for things that I didn't even understand.. not only did the owner himself come give me an estimate the same day which is unheard of but he then had a whole crew at my house two days later super professional on-time polite and they Took care of all the building department paperwork explained every detail to me of the work and the aftercare and finish the whole conversion in one day with his amazing crew and even more great is that the owner actually stayed and worked the whole day with the crew which is amazing.. If I can give 100 stars I would
best plumbing heating n oil to gas conversion company out there !! Allison

NO stars. What a disappoint of a local company I found Tim Daniels Plumbing to be. Only three blocks away from my South Hempstead home I thought the right thing to do was give a local company some business. I do not have a single good thing to say about them, so I will keep this brief as possible, and hope it may be of use to a future customer. I made an appointment to fix a leak in my bathroom sink. The receptionist said Tim usually recommends that all parts be replaced and I replied I would await the plumbers assessment. I had to cancel the appointment due to a family emergency and I left several messages on an unanswered message machine, several telephone messages and texts to Tim""s cellphone. I put way much more effort in this then I should have bothered. Never received an acknowledgement. Than about a week later I began calling the office and Tim about rescheduling, but heard from anyone. About a week after my efforts I get a text from Tim's cellphone; we go back and fort by text; and he states there will be somone at my house the next day. No one shows up and no one calls to tell me there is an issue and they cannot make it.

I am sorry I did not read the reviews on Yelp prior to calling Tim Daniels as it would have saved me much lost time and aggravation. even though I wanted to give a local business my business; instead, Tim Daniels gave me ""the business"". What a disappointing and unprofessional company.

We just moved into our home in Oceanside and found a leak by our boiler. My wife found Tim Daniels with great reviews on Facebook. A wonderful man (Billy) came to the house and said that we would need all new copper piping and a new water filter. He said the office would call back with an estimate. They did the next day for $1,950. As we had no idea if it was a fair price and we trusted Billy we agreed. They would send someone over a soon as possible. We got a call later that day and said a guy would be there that evening. He came, he barely said two words, I had to chase him outside to take the old pipes with him and left with no manual or tool for water filter. When I looked at the job that was done I realized that not all the pipes were replaced. I wrote emails and they sent Billy back who was able to get me an adjustment of a few hundred dollars. He said the plumber that came was there night guy and normally dealt with emergencies (obviously not customer service) I inquired about the filter and he asked where the tool that is needed to replace the filter and I said that it had not been left. He said he would have the office send me a replacement. After a couple of months I remembered that I never received it. I sent another email and he told me to send him a picture so he could order it. This all happened six months ago. Why I remembered it, is because today we had another plumbing issue and I called ARGO Plumbing on a Sunday before MLK Day. He called and walked me through how to manage until he could get there on Monday (the holiday). That's how you want to be treated. I felt cheated by Tim.

Tim Daniels Plumbing and Heating Company did a gas conversion for us. From the start, it was a friendly, informative, and professional experience. Mr. Daniels came to our home, discussed what the job would entail and then within hours, sent us an email with the cost of the conversion. Even though we had another estimate slightly lower, we decided to go with Daniels and never regretted it. The job took only two days and Mr. Daniels was on site various time each day. Honestly, he didn't need to be because his men were more than capable. They removed our old, huge tank, brought in the new equipment and installed it without fuss or mess! The crew spent time explaining our new unit and how it worked. They left our home spotless.
While they worked, Mr. Daniels applied for a significant rebate which we received in the mail. He also took care of the permit paperwork and subsequent inspection for us.
As a final note, being that Mr. Daniels' company is a small local company, we know that we can call upon him at any time and he will be available to answer our needs. We thank him for doing an excellent job!

Tim Daniels plumbing and heating installed a new hot water heater in home. They were very friendly and professional. What I was impressed by the most was the visit from Tim himself to make sure the work was done right. Very easy and I would recommend them to my own family.

Twice I tried to contact this plumber. The first time months ago, via the BBB while checking their rating. NO ONE ever got back to me? The second time a week or so ago, I called their office which is 3-4 blocks from my home, I told the woman who answered the phone what my problem was, she told me Tim is out in the field, and I should call back after 3PM to speak to him.
I called back at 3:40PM, I figured I'd give him a chance to get settled back in the office. NO ONE ANSWERED? The phone went to leave a message. Rather then leaving more messages, on his website, he lists his cell phone number, I figured let me call that number and talk directly to him, I did that and yep, NO ONE ANSWERED? It said leave a message, this time I did! I said what my problem was, and I practically pleaded and begged for him to return my call, and let me know IF he was interested in helping me or not, if not, I would try someone else.
I try to use LOCAL people when I need to hire someone, I think it helps the local economy? This plumber named TIM DANIELS, NEVER CALLED ME BACK nor did anyone else from his company call me back to this day? NO courtesy or decency at all! What a way to run a business! I guess my job was to small for him and he was only interested in BIG BUCK $$$$ JOBS or maybe he didn't KNOW how to fix my problem? Whatever the reason for not taking a job, he should at least call back and say he's to busy or something!
I filed a negative review with the BBB, they are still waiting to hear from him too! I also let the BBB know that on his website, he states he is a BBB ACCREDITED BUSINESS and on the BBB website it says, THIS BUSINESS IS NOT A BBB ACCREDITED BUSINESS under his business name, right at the top of the page. Speaking with a manager at the BBB here on Long Island, I was told he used to be ACCREDITED but NOT any more, I was also told they would contact him to remove the BBB Accredited business seal. I see today it's still up? I guess he does not want to pay the BBB fees?
In my opinion, maybe him not doing my job is a BLESSING in disguise? If something he did went wrong and he ALREADY has my money. Oh boy, what I think would happen is, I would call him and I would get a message saying, LEAVE A MESSAGE!
From my experience, trying to do business with this company, my advise would be to anyone, thinking of using this plumber, find someone who is more reliable and at least return your call and save yourself a possible headache!

Used on three occasions, three different tasks - one an emergency leak. They were fast professional and accommodating. They were also very conscious of cleaning up after themselves - something I have not always seen from other contractors. I have had plumbing work done for less and sometimes more money. So cost I would say is average to slightly high.
Work that was done - Sub Pump in basement replaced, Outdoor faucet and piping to basement replaced and a bathroom leak actively running into the downstairs kitchen repaired.

We just used them to convert my 1952 gigantic oil boiler to gas (the beast as we call it), as well as abandon my 550 gallon oil tank (that was on my front lawn). They were great to work with. My old boiler also provided my home with hot water and I expressed my concerns to Tim about running out of oil before the conversion and not having hot water. He put in a rush order with National Grid and made sure to get us the fastest service available. He kept in contact with us through each step of the process. I honestly couldn't say enough good things about Tim and his staff, they were very honest and clean!!! What more could you ask for? Thank You Tim Daniels!!!

This is an update from my first review that was posted about 3 months ago.

My brother informed me that he received a fax from Tim Daniels Plumbing yesterday regarding my review, here's what it said....

""Steve, After all the work we did for you and your family, was this really necessary? Your brother needs to remove this now or we will be consulting our attorney for defamation of character.""

RH Note: Tim scrawled his attorney's name and number the fax cover sheet and the second sheet that contained my negative Yelp review in an apparent attempt to intimidate us.

This is so typical of this outfit. Rather than try to resolve problems with customers, they threaten legal action. (See the other customer review who went to court only to find other TDP customers there.) There seems to be a definite pattern here. Maybe they have found litigation to be as lucrative as plumbing.

You cannot claim defamation of character when someone is stating what actually happened. My review is accurate and if Mr. Daniels is upset by my positing it to warn other customers, he has only himself to blame.

This Tim Daniels Plumbing & Heating company's owner is beyond unscrupulous. He said he would check the problem and call the next day. When he didn't call I thought OK maybe he's very busy, but if I don't hear from him tomorrow, I'll have to call him again. Meanwhile, the mail arrived with a bill for almost $1,600. and his handwriting
wasn't even legible. But, clearly on the bottom - he printed that we needed a new boiler. We called another company and when the serviceman showed up he said ""You don't need a new boiler, you just need new wiring for $165. When we went to night court, there were 3 people there all being sued by this sham of a company and his lawyer is no better. The day after nightcourt (when neither he nor his lawyer showed up) we receive a letter from his lawyer dated and posmarked the day of the court session stating that he was unable to attend and obviously it arrived the day after the court session. Now we are re-scheduled or another date late in March. I wonder how many other scammed people will be attending that evening.
