Our experience with Tilley was fantastic. Firstly, we are not permanent residents in the South Lake Tahoe/Zephyr Cove area but own a vacation home so our experience, except for the initial meet to discuss the job, was all via phone and email.

Tilley came in to assess and replace our heater. During the initial assessment, it was clear that our heater was on its last legs... but still had some fight in it. They were up front in telling us that we still had some time with the heater but the puddling of water/ice under it shows corrosion and it's probably good for a couple months to a year. After getting a quote and mulling it over, which we found to be a reasonable price, we hired Tilley to do the work. In addition, they installed an new toilet that we bought and left for installation. Their work was great.

A couple months later the heater went out. All remotely, they returned to look at it and it was some sort of electrical malfunction, which they fixed without hesitation.

Great workmanship, great customer service... Tilley is our go-to HVAC and plumbers!

They also install and service Air Conditioning systems, which is awesome now that AC is becoming a necessity in the Greater Lake Tahoe area. A while ago our furnace was making a loud strange noise, so we called Tilley. When the guy came out to inspect the furnace he immediately said that he had been here before and that the house needed a new furnace. After inspecting the furnace he stated that the heat exchanger had a leak. He gave us a quote for a new heater and did not charge us for the inspection.

I was a little skeptical of Tilley's evaluation of the furnace because if the heat exchanger was leaking then there was probably a carbon monoxide leak, and we have a carbon monoxide sensor right next to the furnace air intake...and it has never gone off.

So we called a second HVAC company. Their guy came out and did a thorough inspection of the furnace. We did not tell him about Tilley's evaluation. After inspecting the furnace the other company found and removed some debris from the furnace intake, which was the source of the strange noises we were hearing. He did a carbon monoxide test on the furnace too and found no leaks. He said that there was no leak in the heat exchanger. The repairman actually said that the furnace was in good condition and could potentially last for many years. He also said that when this furnace does have problems it will be time for a new one, since parts for this furnace are almost impossible to get (because of its age).

I bought it myself and shipped it to him which saved me a lot of money. On top of this, he's just a nice guy. Plan on using him for all my plumbing and heating needs going forward.

Mr. Tilley helped me with our natural gas grill hook up. We just purchased a new home and Mr. Tilley stopped by to make sure it was safe and hooked up correctly. Tilley Plumbing was recommended by a neighbor, we had just purchased this house and didn't have a clue what pipes were which (heated base boards, driveway etc).

Mr Tilley came out explained the complicated system and advised some maintenance of the system. ( Being from CA, I didn't know heating systems need anti-freeze)
