I live in an eight-story mixed-used building and my unit is on the lowest residential floor, at the bottom of the stack of condos. My building's common drain was clogged and my kitchen sink was in danger of flooding my condo if units above started running dishwashers, etc. I spoke with Sal about it and the potential danger/damage if it wasn't dealt with quickly. He was very responsive, de-prioritized a less urgent job on his schedule, and got Eddy in there the next morning. He arrived right on time and got right to work, explaining exactly what he was doing and what he was encountering as he snaked out the common drain pipe. Problem solved in about 90 minutes. Drain works fine now, disaster averted.

Will totally call them in the future.

We are a disabled household, who woke up one morning to no hot water. I called Thumbs Up Rooter&Plumbing who came to my home in less than thirty minutes. They assessed the problem, our water heater was gone. The owner/partnership explained what it would take to replace it with a new one and the labor cost. In two days we had a brand new water heater installed, the old one removed and taken away, and the area where it belonged was cleaned. This company was fast, efficient and professional.

Gabe is the best plumber I've run into (and I'm 77 and my dad was a building contractor). Corrected major issues efficiently in older single family home built in the 1950's., including replacing a pressure reducing valve with difficult access, replacing hot water heater, and replaced shower/bath valves (hard to find) and hardware. Very pleased.

The other reviews don't lie... if anything they understate how great Sal and his team are - solid work, great price, AND - no joke - pet friendly!

I closed on a two bed one bath house built in 1926 that needed a lot of love - water heater was deemed unsafe by PG&E (it was venting into the garage), the plumbing was galvanized and in bad shape, and it looked like a lot of the plumbing was done by the last owner, and the toilet & tub leaked and angled the opposite way they should have been... and more.

I had two other plumbers come in for quotes (and one that just never showed) and Sal was competitive on everything. He worked with me to figure out the best possible way of replacing my water heater and ran through multiple scenarios ranging from replacing a 40-gallon tank with the same (funky ventilation made this really difficult) as well as what it would take to put in a tankless. He's great at communicating, was really reliable, responded faster than anyone else I spoke with, AND taught my puppy a new trick (circles, in case you're interested).

If you're curious here is a list of the work I had done (and could not be happier with):
- Installed a seismic gas shut-off
- Replaced all my galvanized plumbing with new copper
- Installed a tankless water heater on the outside of the house (in a much better location than the previous one)
- Removed and disposed of my previous tankless water heater
- Removed and disposed of all galvanized pipe, 25'+ of gas line that was no longer necessary, and old vent pipe
- Replaced old exterior 1920's gate valve with new ball valve for easier water shut off
- Relocated laundry supply lines and drain
- Adjusted slope of both bathtub and toilet drains
- FOUND AND CAPPED AN OPEN SEWER PIPE that was just chilling in my crawl space letting rats come in
- I feel like there was probably something else, I'm just forgetting now

The team worked fast, were great to deal with, the work was solid and the price was great. I highly recommend them.

If I need anything in the future Thumbs Up and Sal are my go-to plumbers.
