I called out Thompson Family plumbing because my tankless water heater stopped working. The young man that came was very polite. He couldn't get the pilot light to work after trying for a few minutes. He gave me a quote of $5500 for a new unit. It was 700 for the unit and $4800 to install. My brother came over and got it working in just a couple of minutes and it's been working great. My brother said the pilot light is a little worn. He went online and ordered a new pilot light system new for $21 dollars. He says it's a simple fix and will put it in as soon as it arrives. I would expect more from a plumbing repair company. I feel like if I had put my trust in them as a female, they would have taken advantage of me.

I normally don't write reviews (yet alone a negative one) but the experience I had was so outrageous, I'm obligated to share.

I requested a quote over the phone to have 3 faucets installed. They insisted on having their technicians visit my home to give an accurate estimate. I asked them for a ballpark, even though I already knew how much it may cost, but I wasn't able to get any information over the phone.

The two technicians that came to visit were very polite at first. They looked at the sinks that needed the faucets installed, went back to their truck to create an estimate, and came back with a more nervous demeanor. I was quoted almost $2,000 to have 3 faucets installed....that's almost 10x the average cost. Of course I wasn't going to give them my business. I told them thanks but I'm not interested. As they left, one of them said ""on to the next one"". That stuff normally doesn't bother me, but I found that somewhat unprofessional.

The company called the next day to follow up, but I explained I can't do business with a company that marks up their services so high. They asked if I receive a lower quote that I call them back. After their initial quote, they've lost all trust with me because I felt like they were trying to take advantage of my situation of not having any operational faucets.

Don't be fooled by their politeness, they will try and steal your money.

We can't say enough good things about Thompson Family plumbing! We first used them two years ago when a root cracked some piping in our septic. They were on time, communicated well and were very friendly and professional! Most recently, we called them again for a leak with our water heater. Richard is who they sent out (they text you a photo and name of your technician, which these days was very reassuring and I thought was really cool). He came out and capped off an unnecessary pipe, quick. A couple days later the leak reappeared, and Richard was sent out again. It took a while for all of us to figure out exactly what was causing the leak to continue, but he wasn't leaving until he got to the bottom of it. He went above and beyond, climbed in our attics to check our piping for the AC, everything- he ruled out every possibility. Once we were able to recreate the leak, the problem was found (and indeed had to do with the same pipe) so he let us know our water heater needs replaced, and brought up to new code since things have changed since our house was built. He gave us an extremely reasonable quote to replace it all, and we scheduled it for three days later, which is today. He is incredibly efficient, doesn't try to rush anything, and doesn't try to push any unnecessary work or charges, which we have experienced in the past with other companies. Very friendly, personable, and he cares about his quality of work. We will ALWAYS use Thompson Family for any plumbing or rooter needs. The administrative side is also very friendly and communicates very well. We highly recommend!!

Amazing service and company. I tried to do my own plumbing over the weekend and ran into a snag. I called Thompson Family Plumbing and they got a plumber to my door within hours. What is amazing is that they sent emails and text messages of who (including pictures?) the plumbing was so I knew who was coming to my house (that would help if I wasn't? home and it was only my wife there). Their? fee was fair and very reasonable?. Don (the plumber that came) fixed the issue within? 30 mins and did not leave a mess, and was very polite to my toddler (that was very interested? in what he was doing). If you need any plumbing work don't? call anyone else!!!

This is the most expensive plumber around....they were going to charge me $5.500 for the exact same job another plumber charged me $1.200...and the travel distance was the same....

I have been following this company on Instagram from quite awhile. And we never needed plumbing service. Then our garbage disposal went out in our home in Phelan. We rent the home in Phelan to our son and his wife. John came out and took care of the problem quickly and was very fair on the cost including before and after pictures. Yesterday, we had a main line crack. They quickly dispatched a tech and then we received an email with a picture of the tech responding. He made temporary repairs and he scheduled a return trip for today, Sept 4, 2018. Today he returned and again, a picture of the tech was emailed to me. The repair was made and completed for the exact cost I was quoted. I also received before and after photos of the work. I am VERY happy with Thompsons Family Plumbing. I highly recommend them.

The owner writes he would like to resolve my complaint, but he does nothing but tell me about all of his business expenses. I did find a company that has the same business expenses and completed the job for half the price.

Late at night I discovered water slowly seeping between my bathroom floorboards. Eeeeeek! After a lot of panic and figuring I had a leaky pipe under my floor, I turned off the water main and in the morning called Thompson Family Plumbing. A time was arranged and a photo was sent of Victor, who would be coming, along with a text confirmation. I won't go into details of the problem, but Victor found the issue, which turned out to be a much smaller problem than I (and he) originally thought, which was a relief. Victor was friendly yet professional, and explained everything very clearly and thoroughly, which I appreciated. Thank you, Victor and Thompson Family Plumbing!
