Company Overview

I deliver an extensive selection of plumbing services for homes including drain and sewer cleaning, fixes for water heaters, as well as any plumbing problems you may have. All my work comes with a guarantee! Homeowners rely on my skills as a licensed, insured, and secured technician. I am committed to offering effective solutions for every plumbing issue you face.

I launched my business in 2001, just after the September 11 attacks. It proved to be a challenging time to launch a business, but I was determined, and within six years, I had five trucks in operation. Still, I wasn't satisfied. As a master plumber, I understood that I wasn't meant to be a babysitter. My customers wanted my presence, and they missed me. The team I had couldn't replace me, so I returned to working solo in 2011, and I have found happiness in that decision. I may not earn as much or have the same amount of free time, but I am far happier, and my customers appreciate it.

I go by George Thomas. I am passionate about the plumbing trade. I believe that I serve about 1,400 clients a year, based on last year's numbers, and only two were unhappy. The majority are customers who will always choose me or have been with me for years.

What motivated me to start? I received too many requests for my services. To be truthful, I had other aspirations. I went to school in the evenings and considered anything but plumbing. Yet, I was given a talent, and I embraced it. I feel this is what I was meant to do.

Great plumber and fair. He's done two jobs for my house and both were super fast, efficient, expertly done . I'll be using Thomas as my plumber from now on.

I found Thomas on Yelp and liked the reviews. Although there were just a couple of bad reviews, I didn't let that scare me away because let's be honest, you can't please everyone! I had water and waste coming out of my basement shower off and on for months. I paid a plumber to come out and they snaked it but I continued to have the problem. I then called a popular plumbing company and they were going to charge me a very expensive amount of money that I didn't have. So the issue continued to go on off and on for months. I finally got tired and looked on Yelp for a plumber that I could trust. I found Thomas and called him the day before yesterday. He said that he didn't have any emergency appointments available that day but I explained to him that it wasn't an emergency because it's been going on for months. He was able to put me in the next day which was yesterday. He gave me an estimate over the phone and a small window of when he would be there. Although I did not meet Thomas in person because I had to go to work, my sister stayed at the house when he showed up. It turned out to be sewer back up on the city side. He gave me an option of just paying the cost of him coming out and then calling the city to come fix it for free or he could fix it for a charge that was actually cheaper than the estimate he gave me. I paid the cost of him coming out and the city came out and fixed it in a few hours. I'm so happy I now have someone I can use for any other plumbing issues. I would definitely recommend him!

Calling your customers ""idiots"" speaks volumes for your service. If my post saves one person from your bs, it's worth it. Please seek someone else for your plumbing needs. A million plumbers out there without this terrible attitude.

I called at 7:15 this morning with a clogged drain (old limes down the disposal yesterday--bad girl!). George (his first name, Thomas is his middle) happened to be in the neighborhood and was here in 10 minutes. I'm also a lucky woman because he's apparently so busy that it just so happened he was in the neighborhood and the job he was on wouldn't pick up the phone. He was quick, professional, got the job done and cleaned up. It's only 45 minutes since I called and now I can wash my dishes!

Heritage was our plumber and so responsive, honest, so fair priced. I'd recommend this company and specifically this plumber to anyone, business, landlord, or for your own needs. They know what they're talking about! Very professional!

George finished up some work for me earlier this week. It was clear to me that he is very busy because people probably look at his ratings on here and call him first. After interacting with him over the course of the project, here's what I think others should know:

If you judge a tradesperson on personality (which obviously is probably not the way you should be determining a review, in my opinion). Then know this: 1. George is a straight shooter. He initially didn't come off as personable as I would've liked, but by the end of the project I checked myself and also understood why, and our interactions also changed. I called George for a non-emergency project right before temperatures dropped to freezing and everything went to crap around here (I.e. pipes freezing, bursting around the city/County). He agreed to take on my project and then was most likely bombarded by others with more extreme issues than myself. It was obvious he was busy and I almost let him off the hook for my project because I was feeling like he didn't have time. We talked it out and it was fine, we continued on. 2. The ""busy-ness"" I was feeling was George actually trying to come through for everyone that he could commit to. He may initially come off with a tough exterior, but it is clear he is just trying to get his job done well, in the appropriate time period, with no BS, so he can continue on and help someone else too. 3. If you read his profile/website (I don't remember where I saw it) you'll see at one point he had five trucks in his business and then went back down to one. This is a man who is committed to his job (and enjoys it) but isn't into the corporate BS. Because of what he had posted about himself, I assumed he was a ""control freak"" and I cannot confirm, nor deny that he may be self-aware enough to know that too. Which brings me to the actual important part...

If you judge a tradesperson on quality of work and pricing (the part I can get behind) then George is absolutely someone to consider. 1. That ""control freak"" attribute comes out in his quality of work. (This is a positive, for those of you who can't read between the lines.) I know enough about plumbing to know that he didn't cut corners or do the project improperly. He came in, did the work, and headed out to the next job. When he needed something from me, he told me. 2. His price was reasonable. Know the saying ""you get what you pay for""? Well, I feel like it's true. I feel comfortable with the price I paid for the work that was done. Sometimes time is money. And this project would've taken me weeks when it took him days. Paying for experience and having access to the correct tools is worth it sometimes, even though I'm an avid DIYer. 3. He personally manages his phone calls and always calls 15-30 minutes before arriving, telling you how long his gps says it will take to get to your house. Very helpful for people like me who commute a longer distance to work and need to head out on time. And when the man says he'll be there at 7 am, he means it. 4. When I thought he left the water off at the house after working that day (but it just happened to be Baltimore County who shut it off cause of a water main break, thanks BMore...) he quickly answered my text messages at nearly 9 pm and helped me troubleshoot (because it was pure coincidence that the water wasn't working).

I would highly recommend George for your next job, but know that the straightforward experience you'll probably get over the phone is just because the man answers his own phone and actually cares to work, a lot, and make sure he can provide services to as many people as possible. I will be calling him back for other needs I may have over time!

I was a repeat customer. Used him many times on a rental property. When I called again for service at the same property for the 4th time, I was met with a very rude, unprofessional, aggressive 'stranger' was this the same person I had been allowing in my tenants home?! He had no idea who I was even after doing business with many times. His one man operation may be getting too much for him to handle. I suggest using a bigger outfit where professionalism is an everyday thing. Why do you keep posting new lies on my review George?

Thomas the Plumber is the best plumber around Baltimore - I am 100% confident that is the truth.

I will recommend George (Thomas) to everyone I know - even the ones who are not having plumbing issues.

DO NOT call one of the big guys if you live in Baltimore. You will have a better experience and pay less to have Thomas the Plumber handle your issue.

George has come out to my house on 2 separate occasions to deal with nasty situations and was a complete pleasure to work with. Both times he told me the problem straight up without any complicated plumber mumbo jumbo, and explains exactly what he is doing. I also was extremely satisfied with the price he charged considering the scope of problems he fixed

First (last year), he helped unclog a nasty sewage clog that a certified drain cleaner was unable to fix. Thats right, I paid a professional drain cleaner to unclog my sewer line, and they failed. When I called George he came up with a creative solution to solve the problem, and he charged what i felt was a very fair rate.

Then, just this weekend (January 6-7 2018 aka the Bomb Cyclone cold freeze) my pipes froze so I called George Again. Despite being extremely busy from tons of other people having the same issue - he squeezed me into his busy schedule and saved the day. He unthawed the pipes, cut out a bunch of galvanized pipes and replaced with new copper pipes.

If I went with one of the big guys, i would have paid 2-3 times what George charged me.

Thanks for the great service George!
