Don't bother these guys don't want to work. They were contracted through our home warranty company to come look at water heater. We waited over a week and they didn't even show up or call. I called him after and he played dumb and it was very pathetic. If you don't want to work don't tell people you're going to work.

These guys are a joke and will only put you out. Find a reputable company don't waste your time. The reviews speak for themselves.

DO NOT DIG, CALL TIM INSTEAD!

We bought our home, which was built in 1901, in the summer of 2021. Two months later, our main sewer line started backing up into the basement. We spent the next month going through five different plumbing companies, spending thousands of dollars on all manner of recommended fixes, none of which solved the problem. Eventually, several of these companies told us that the problem was an old house trap that was completely blocked. The estimates to dig it up and replace it ranged from 10-15 thousand dollars. Needless to say, we felt this was a ridiculous amount of money and thought there had to be another solution.

We were then put in touch with Tim Thomas. I was told to give Tim a chance because he was an honest guy, and even if he couldn't fix our problem, he wouldn't overcharge me if we had to dig up the trap. Tim came out that week and spent almost two hours analyzing the situation. Much to my surprise, he told me that the digging, which all the other companies told me was absolutely the only way to fix our problem, would not be necessary. He said that he could clean the old trap out and get our line flowing to the street. I must admit that I was a little skeptical, but Tim seemed like such and honest and earnest individual, I decided to give him a shot. I figured we had nothing to lose, and it beats the hell out of 10-15k right?

Tim's solution took several visits, and I don't want to give away any of his trade secrets but he eventually got the trap open. This is where the plot thickens. Little did we know, but we were actually dealing with two problems. About six months after he got the trap open, the line backed up on us again. Tim came out again, and we discovered that the main line had collapsed under the street. If you haven't ever gone through this type of situation, then be prepared because convincing SD-1 that there is something wrong on their end of the sewer line is not easy: It takes a Herculean effort of time, patience, and arm-twisting. Because he is such a good person, Tim took it upon himself to get involved and eventually through his knowledge was able to convince SD-1 that the problem was on their end. I cannot understate how difficult it was to convince the SD-1 people to recognize that the problem was under the street, but Tim was able to do it. Sure enough, they confirmed that the sewer line had completely collapsed under the street, and they came out a week later to replace it. We have not had any problems since. None of this would have happened without Tim's involvement.

To say that Tim is an honest businessman would be the understatement of the century. He is the most honest contractor I have ever worked with for any reason, and I have worked with many over the years of home ownership. He will tell you straight up what he can do to fix your problem. Tim's honesty and integrity are not the only reasons to hire him. He is a true expert, or I would say genius of his trade. The majority of plumbing companies out there today are simply in the business of replacing parts. Much like the mechanics who no longer fix car problems but just replaces old parts with new, these modern plumbing companies want to charge people exorbitant amounts of money to replace sewer lines, etc., partly because they know the customers are ignorant and at their mercy but also because they no longer practice the ""art of plumbing."" In contrast, Tim practices the ""art of plumbing"", meaning he actually tries to repair or fix the existing plumbing. Tim is a rare commodity in this culture as he still practices a trade that has become a lost art in our culture of quick fixes and fast money.

Tim is a one man show, so you must be patient. It took about six months to eventually resolve our problem, but in reality, we were also dealing with two problems, the trap and the collapsed line. If you want a quick fix, call one of these big plumbing companies and let them take you for a ride. You will likely get the quick fix you are looking for, but it might bankrupt you in the process. However, if you are willing to be patient and let Tim work his magic, then he will amaze you while saving you thousands of dollars in the process. I cannot recommend Tim enough, especially if you find yourself in a similar situation. Call Tim Thomas today!

I will never user them again and i will tell everyone i know to not use them. Ventless fireplace valve replacement . I purchased the part. $179.00.They showed up late took too long to do the job 3.5 hours to do a job that I could have done in an hour. Only reason i called them it involved a gas line. Charged a $98 dollar service fee, said i needed new fittings were gone over an hour for parts they should have had (he even said so himself). Told me he went to three places to find them which could have been avoided if they had called to see if parts were in stock. Billed me for that trip time. In the end he billed $478.00 remember I supplied the valve $179.00. i argued they knocked of $28 dollars. I paid $450.00 in the end. In the end a simple valve for a ventless fireplace $629.00 dollars. Crooks!

Unreliable, very hard to get ahold of. They agreed to do the job and then didn't show up. They won't answer the phone or return calls. Avoid.

I don't know WHO wrote the reviews on Angie's List, but they must have done it themselves. I wish I had seen this first and not wasted my time. The only reason I gave them 1 star was because I could not go with negative stars. Twice they no call no showed to an appointment. Multiple phone numbers, all apparently cell phones, and they never answer when I call to see where they are. They finally called back after the first no show and rescheduled, then never answered when they didn't show the next day. Unreliable, unprofessional (they never answer the phone as Thomas Plumbing) and apparently I am not the first. Looks like the quality of work follows suit. Save yourself the headache.

I just have to add my voice. I don't know how this cowboy stays in business. I had an issue with my furnace, so American Home Shield sent him out. He finally arrived after a week of me badgering him for an arrival date. After a while, he told me that the furnace was old (I told HIM that) and he'd cleaned it. Using another company, I replaced the thermostat but the contractor told me that the real reason the furnace wasn't firing up was that the burners had rusted out. I wonder how it is that Thomas & Sons said nothing about that?
I was obliged to call him out again but nine days later, I wash my hands of him. Call after call and the work is still not done. There is no compassion here for a contractor who blames his lack of dedication on illness and long work hours. Sorry but those go with owning a business.
After a very long call, he is now on American Home Shield's DO NOT SEND list. Whether or not AHS survives this at contract renewal remains to be seen.
Absolutely worthless.

I want to give this business a big fat zero. Absolutely awful, unorganized and unresponsive. Contacted through my warranty company for an A/C issue on a Fri. I left a message on Sat. with my contact information and to call me first thing on Mon. morning. Nothing. Called multiple times and voicemail was full. Finally reached on Tues. afternoon and asked for an appointment time and was told he was too busy to get to me and to try calling again on Wed. since he ""might"" be in my area. NO! I'm not continuing to chase this guy down for service. Requested my warranty company remove Thomas and Sons from its list of contractors.

Zero Stars. This business was provided through my home warranty company when our water heater broke. They couldn't come out for 2 days after the appointment was made-bummer, but I get it. I ended up calling just to see if I could get something earlier; I couldn't but I had a guaranteed appointment at 11:00 on a Thursday. (A week after our water heater went out). I did try calling on a Saturday because their website says they are open but no one ever answered and their vm was full. When I did speak to someone, I mentioned the above and they didn't really say anything.
So 11:00 on Thursday came and went. I called at 11:15 and asked when they would arrive. ""Oh we're running behind but we're in the area."" So I asked when they would be there and they couldn't tell me. ""The best we can do is call 45 minutes before we come."" When 5:00 rolled around my husband called and surprise, they weren't coming. No apology, no guaranteed time the next day, just no service. I called another company immediately after hanging up and was given an appointment for the next day. They ended up coming early and replacing our water heater. I had to call my warranty company to switch the contractor and informed them to take Thomas and Sons off of their list. I also contacted the Better Business Bureau. SPOILER ALERT: I never heard from Thomas and Sons and they have yet to respond to the BBB claim. NEVER USE THEM.

by the way, my ac is working temporarily until 7/3. it took the tech 10 minutes to diagnose and get it up and running till he got the ""one part it needed'. i am so thankful to pro source. they did in a few minutes what two visits of several hours thomas and sons could not or would not do, because they wanted more money from me , they ignored me.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!
We are in the process of selling our house and purchased the HSA Home Warranty. Unfortunately, our air conditioning froze up on Saturday and I called to make a claim to the Warranty Company. They stated they would have a contractor contact us. We did not receive a call, so I ended up calling Thomas & Sons Plumbing on Monday morning (per the Home Warranty Company, as they were assigned our claim) Their voicemail was full, so I was unable to leave a message. I called back an hour later. The gentleman told me he would call me back in 15 minutes, as he was driving. I waited over 2 hours and had to call back. When I finally got ahold of someone, they told me their next available appointment wouldn't be until Thursday. So I scheduled Thursday and they told me between 1:00 - 3:00. I called on Thursday around noon to find out what time to expect them. They told me they didn't have time to do it and they could reschedule me for Monday. I told them that was unacceptable, as it was going to be 90 degrees today and I had made arrangements to be off. I missed their phone call at 2:59. They stated they were in my area and I needed to call them back for our appointment. I called them at 3:05 and left a voicemail. Called them again at 3:08, they answered this time and said they had already left my area and they were not going to honor my appointment. I stated they were supposed to be at my house 1 - 3, I was at the house, no one had been there. They stated they called another customer and were not coming for my appointment. I then said, so you are telling me I need to contact our Home Warranty Company and tell them you are refusing to do the job, after I have waited 3 days for this appointment. They hung up on me. This has been a horrible experience since the very beginning and I should have researched BEFORE, I agreed to have this company even scheduled! I agree with all of the other reviews, STAY AWAY from this company! Choose someone else for your plumbing needs!
