Sandra S.I called them on Monday to ask for an appt for Tuesday Nd they squeezed me in right away, told me they would be here by Tuesday anytime from 1-3 and got here right around 2:30, they called me 30 minutes before as well! Which i really appreciated! My shower head kept leaking and Jose came by and assessed the situation, said i needed a new shower head and thank God he had one in his truck and was able to fix it all within an hour. Great customer service and was able to fix the situation in little to no time. Will definitely recommend this company to any and everyone!!
Fyi they do ask for your card number over the phone in order to book your appt. it seemed sketchy at first but it's not!
Had an excellent experience with Thomas Plumbing Co replacing my hot water heater. I found a giant crack and a small leak on my current heater so I was worried it would bust. Talked to Bill the owner after hours & he promised he'd have someone out early the next morning. I sent him pictures of my old heater with all the critical info. Jose and Melvin showed up the next day as promised, with a new water heater. They were impressive & appeared totally competent and professional. I had a new heater by early afternoon. I had used them before and will continue to use them.
My first experience with Thomas Plumbing occurred approximately 8 years ago. At that time, I was experiencing boiler issues that 3 ""big name"" heating /cooling companies were unable to resolve subsequently resulting in temporary fixes. I randomly selected this company from a directory. The owner came out to the property to assess the problem and was able to troubleshoot within the hour. The boiler has been functioning from winter to winter since that time. I have continued to reach out to this company for both small and large jobs and have always been pleased with the results. The staff is not only skilled with their trade they are also very professional and do a wonderful clean up job at completion. I highly recommend this company for its services and plan to continue to call upon them as needed.
The owner Bill called me to delete my honest review and threatened to sue me. He said that one of the property management companies he works with called him and asked about my review. I hope this is it and I don't get another call (trolling bc I'm bothered a little by the whole thing). While I'm glad people read my review/experience it's obviously up to the client to make the judgement. Just updating the world in case you're surprised it happens to you.
Ray M.Working with Thomas Plumbing for four years and I have absolutely no complaints. They get to the job quickly and are extremely responsive. Their pricing is very competitive which is crucial for property management companies and their clients. They are the best and I recommend any property management company or consumer to use them without hesitation.
A third experience with Thomas plumbing makes me even more reluctant to recommend them.
I called to have what I thought was a minor repair done on a toilet. I was wrong; a more significant repair would be necessary. Okay, I don't know much about this stuff, whatever you say. But then when they got into it, the more significant repair could not even be made because the toilet was so old, the bad part could not be removed without wrecking the toilet. The only viable option was to replace the toilet.
Okay, I am still all right with that, but the guy has spent 1.5 hours getting us to that point. The plumber seemed highly competent, but didn't have much English, so I spent sometime with the company's owner/ manager on the phone. He said there was a brand new Vortens toilet on the plumber's truck, that I could have, completely installed, for $650. I figured even if I told them ""no"" I would still owe them for the time already spent, and I wasn't keen on going shopping for a toilet, particularly since I don't have a car. Going from one plumbing supply place to another, without transportation, trying to assess an item that I basically know nothing about did not seem wise. So, I agreed.
Bottom line, the toilet works great. But $650 for it, even given the amount of time the plumber spent on the old one, was way out of line. These turn out to be cheap toilets that a lot of people have trouble with. So far, so good, but buyer, beware.
MY Property Management Company used this plumbing company to replace a 50 Gallon Hot Water Heater located on the first floor of a walk out basement townhouse and was charged $1675.00. This was not an emergency repair; however, because this is a rental property I had to pay the bill.
I have contacted other Plumbing Companies in the area and they said a trained plumbing crew should have been able to do that job for $475.00 with a worst case scenario $900.00.
I have paid the invoice and advised my Management Company to no longer used Thomas Plumbing Company for any future plumbing repairs for this rental property.
Why did Thomas Plumbing Company charge such an exorbitant amount for this repair ?
Nikki N.Everyone at this company who I have interacted with is incompetent. I have only used them because my condo building does. They do not return calls when they say they will and forget they ever serviced your unit or spoke with you. They do not come in the given time window or call before coming as requested. I have called many times for the same leaking shower they failed to fix the first time. Don't use them!
*Note: They seem to be in Silver Spring now.
Matt S.The epitome of terrible service. Do NOT use these guys. Every aspect of working with them was ridiculous.
- completely didn't show up when promised. Wasted a whole day of work sitting home on my couch waiting for them to show up.
- when they did show up, they installed hardware improperly, taking 3 guys to fix the mistakes of the first guy
- when they left they said they would ""talk to me later"" about the bill, then after not hearing from them for a week they automatically charged a huge amount to an on-file credit card number.
I don't like leaving one-star ratings, but I'm hoping to spare others the hassle with these people, especially since it's hard to find a good plumber.
Christina K.Definitely will not be using them again. I highly recommend others don't use them, because they don't seem to know how to operate a business in the 21st century. Not only did we have to have their plumbers come out twice, because the first time, the guy they sent out was insisting the floor grout was the cause of the leak. And when I called to get them to refund the charges on the wrong card they charged, they were going to charge me the 3% service fee. I told him it's the cost of doing business and his response was that the job was ""too small."" If you don't want to do small small plumbing jobs, then don't list as a residential plumber.
