I returned from a vacation to find my upstairs Goodman air conditioning unit was not blowing cool air. This was a big deal given the record heat wave. I am a big-time researcher when it comes to anything I purchase so the clock was ticking.

So I first went to Yelp to find a highly rated company and assess the issue. That technician with two decades of experience said I had to replace the whole unit (Starting at $10K up to $16K) because it was a freon leak and even though he couldn't find it, it would likely happen again with a repair.

FORTUNATELY I got a second opinion from a neighbor who recommended Thomas. Their technician, Riley, came out immediately and actually took the time to find the actual leak. He said there was no evidence of the prior technician opening some of the key panels of the evaporator unit in my attic to find the root cause.

Riley was friendly and professional and spent 30 minutes in the heat of the attic to find the location of the freon leak and he shoed me a video and images. He then gave me 3 options and then shared candidly which option he would take and why. To my surprise the option he recommended was not the most profitable one for the company, it was to switch out a component and their labor and the component would be under warranty.

His solution cost me $7,000 less than the alternative of getting a new unit! His team arrived the next day, they laid out a tarp and got to work. 6 hours later my house was blowing cold air and the upstairs was starting to cool down.

I just wanted to say that I appreciate the integrity of any family business that puts the customer first and does not just push their employees to make the biggest sale but rather has them do the right thing as if they were spending their own money.

During the peak of our favorite AZ summer...WE my home's AC system decided to stop working so I called around and was able to get a quick reply from Emily at Thomas Home Services. The tech was Riley and he dove right in with an obvious knowledge of the inner workings of AC systems. He identified the issue as being linked to the system's outdated components and outlined a plan for repair. Throughout the process, Riley was thorough and ensured everything was clear to me, who was more or less confused on how it all worked. On top of the initial problem, we faced challenges with a particularly difficult manufacturer. Emily, the office manager, handled this situation brilliantly. She liaised between all parties, ensuring that any obstacles were overcome and that I was constantly updated. Their collective efforts resulted in my home cooling down with a system that is modern and dependable. I have nothing but appreciation for their diligence and expertise and would wholeheartedly recommend Thomas Home Services.
