Thistle Plumbing is one of those miracle finds that you hold onto for dear life. We used to hire a local family owned business that got weird when the father retired and the son took over. We struck gold with Brian. He's familiar with old houses and his estimates have been accurate.

So I called for an estimate based on all the great reviews here. I feel obliged to help others make decisions and not waste their time...that's the way this Yelp thing works, right? Guy was very nice on the phone, made an appointment. Other guy shows up to appointment, immediately tells me I owe him $95, his time isn't free. Ok, I can understand that but very strange that the person on the phone had not mentioned it. Goes through the house, saying things but with the thick accent I wasn't completely sure what he was saying. Kept repeating that his time was valuable, that I understood. I asked for an estimate, he said he couldn't even give me a guess or range, but I'd get one from the office the next day. Received nothing. So, $95 dollars later and a bunch of my time wasted, hope this keeps someone else from having it happen to them.

Pro- Brian was very responsive especially on Yelp emails. Also used texting for convenience.

Con- Disclosure, customer asked for both plumbing and cleaning services upfront, but was told no cleaning services available after visit. 3rd party vendors, owner did not disclose them and these vendors were difficult to understand as well their penmanship.

I have used Thistle's services 4 times over the past two years (above grade gas line extension, replace toilet, unclog sink drain, repair underground copper leak). This company does excellent work for a fabulous price. I felt completely at ease with the wonderful Frank who came by the same day I called to do the work. I had a plumbing emergency while my husband was out of town. Some companies would take advantage of my not knowing anything about what might need to be done. Frank came out to work on my tankless water heater. He was fantastic. Knowledgeable, trustworthy, kind, and fixed the problem. Brian has helped us in the past. This is the only plumbing company we trust, and we have been through several. Don't hesitate. Call them!!

We had Brian come out to my sisters place because of an obnoxious hammering sound when the toilet was flushed and somehow he figured it was connected to the sprinkler system. He was able to fix the problem in no time. We called Thistle again, and Frank came out to take care of a leak in kitchen (we were told it was a bad install) and because he was so thorough he realized it was from backup. He was also gracious enough to go through our crawl space without gear! And take a look at our waste line. Needless to say, we had them come out to change out our line to avoid future issues. My husband and I are so impressed with both Brian and Frank's professionalism, knowledge, skills, and their willingness to work a big job on a Saturday to fit our timeline. We would not hesitate to call Thistle for future issues.
