Thielmann Heating, Cooling & Plumbing
Company Overview
Since 1929, Thielmann Heating & Cooling has offered dependable HVAC services in Southeastern Wisconsin. We focus on heating, cooling, and indoor air quality systems for both residential and commercial clients, providing installation, repair, and maintenance services that prioritize reliability and customer satisfaction.
John Thielmann founded the family business in 1929, specializing in boiler and oil furnace service. His son Walter soon joined him, helping to grow the business into its current form. The duo became the local agents for the Lennox Furnace Company. The family legacy continued with Walter's sons, Paul and Tom, who began working in the shop while still in grade school. Paul became the owner in 1969, adding air conditioning services to the offerings. Tom came back to the business in 1977 as a service technician, later becoming the office manager and technician. We are proud to carry on the Thielmann legacy and the outstanding service that Thielmann & Son has been known for throughout the years.

Excellent service. Install was quick. .They removed the old furnace and air conditioner leaving no mess. Cleaned entire area and more after installation. Outstanding service.
Ron F.Shane Peck came to our home today and checked out the air conditioner for the coming season. Everything was O. K. and he was very helpful, turning on the outside water for the season, something I cannot do these days. We were charged $101.66 for the service which was fine with us. We have had Shane as our service person a few times now, so we had a good visit again.

Rachel D.BEWARE! Thielmann tech Jeremy ""serviced"" a perfectly functioning boiler twice and both times, seemed to cause more damage. First time, in 2023, he said it needed a new valve (to the tune of $588) -- which is now leaking and needs to be replaced yet again. Immediately following routine service in 2024, the boiler stopped functioning, requiring $2K in emergency service and significant repairs (replacement of motherboard, etc.) by another company. It's clear Thielmann (or at least this tech) are not equipped to service boilers -- make sure to do your research before using them.
Omar R.Great personal service and response! They help us thru the process of selecting the right unit for our house and also to apply for our maximum rebates. Steve is the best.
Very professional, prompt response starting with the initial call to the installation. Very competitive pricing. I highly recommend them.
Robert H.we just bought this house this year. i called them because it appeared that the previous owner used them. I first called them out because my AC was not cooling. the technician told me it was low on freon and put some in. i asked him if that meant that it had a leak, he said yes. i said i would like him to find it. he said he did not have the die needed to check. then he ran out of freon and was running back to the shop, i said bring some die back. when he came back, he said they were out, and it cost $200.00. before he left, i said, it is not blowing cold. he put his hand next to the vent and said yes it was. the next day, i called them back complaining. they sent someone out he changed something, and it started working. i called yesterday to get a quote for fixing the leak, they wanted to charge a service fee for coming out. they did not care what happened in the past.
After a call with someone from there I decided to change my review. I'm still up in the air with them, they were very defensive and admitted that their call system is not working and they are changing it. They stated on the phone that the part needed would've costed around $700 for them to get the first night compared to $360 on Wednesday, I already spent about $200 on space heater so I would've spent the extra money to get the part on Friday and had it fixed right then and there. Under normal business their part would've been delivered on Tuesday so since the part was backed up that was why it took until Wednesday to get the part, so the guy on the phone said the technician technically did not lie. I am still on the fence about this company and I'll see how the next interaction goes.
I ordered a new A/C unit through them, a few months later it stopped working and took some time to get a hold of someone after leaving a message that they never received. Guy comes and says there's nothing wrong and cleans some sensors and I get charged a service fee. Come a few days ago on the coldest day of the year, it stops working again, called them and they send someone on 12/23/2022 and he says it's a gas valve and they can change it on Tuesday 12/27/2022. So I have to get a bunch of space heaters to keep my 7 month wife and 2.5 year old daughter warm during the coldest weekend in WI. Tuesday comes and they do not have the part still so they have to come on Wednesday. The guy comes and has to get the model number to get the right part. So it took 5 days during the coldest weekend for them to do something and almost $500 later. I will definitely not be using this company again for anything in the future.
***Update***
This company is tied to Roth Heating and Cooling. My system continues to fail every few months (well this time it took a week to fail after they ""fixed it""). We continually have to wait for parts to come in so we have to suffer in the heat or cold for a couple of days. Last week we were charged around $900 for them to fix it and now a week later it's not working again. A guy just came in and charged us $250 for diagnostic and we do not know how much the part is going to be but we have to suffer in the heat until Monday when they get the part. This business just seems shady and untrustworthy. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but since using them our unit continually fails and we are spending a lot of money for them to keep coming and ""fixing it"".
I experienced Thielmann & Son's service through my Costco membership. If that does not tell you something, allow me to expand. From the moment of receiving a call from their front desk to the completion of the project, every bit was clock work professional, clean, and honest. Measurements and size of the HVAC system, explanations of what each term means and how it impacts the home, energy consumption, etc were all provided with a lot of patience. I had enough time to do my own research regarding pricing, current labor, comparison of brands and models, etc. I am impressed by these folks and their business model. The work was spot on, clean and surgically executed. I am a loyal customer now for the annual maintenance and if other needs arise. Keep up the good work Thielmann and Sons.
My entire experience with Thielmann has been seamless from meeting with salesman Wayne to the install of my furnace. The techs were friendly and courteous and arrived on time. I was also impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of their office staff.
I highly recommend Thielmann!
Needed to replace furnace and AC unit . Prompt and courteous service. Willing to answer all my questions. Gave me a very fair price. Found them through Costco in Grafton, WI.
