The Purple Plumber

When my previous plumber would not return my calls, I found the Purple Plumber through the recommendation of a friend. After calling him, he arrived the next day and he unclogged my sink, changed my garbage disposal and fixed my outdoor spigots that had been leaking. He worked in a timely fashion and his prices are reasonable. His demeanor is quiet with few words which I appreciate when a job needs to get done.

Ignore my earlier review, I was dealing with the Purple Plumber's replacement last time I had a service call. Purple Plumber is a one man operation and when he was away in the past, another service covered for him. That is where the good review came from in the past. I've now dealt with John, the Purple Plumber himself. What an angry, unhappy man. I work in customer service and this man hit every button of what not to do. He is a great plumber, I believe he is, but he needs to hire someone to deal with people for him. Grumpy, angry, impatient. He got so angry at me for paying within 10 days of a service call, he wanted payment the day of but he doesn't take credit cards. Hard to do if you aren't at home at the time of the service call. He wouldn't work on my type of hot water heater and instead of telling me so, he went off on me about how he hates the type I own. Wow, how is the guy still in business? Neffsville Plumbing and Heating charge $58 for a call out, use them instead. No plumber is perfect but at least if you avoid Purple Plumber, you won't be lectured and grumbled at by some old man that must hate his life and his job.

As a new homeowner, it's hard to find reliable and timely plumbers with a fair price. Within an hour of calling John, he was here and giving me an estimate. The very next day he was able to squeeze me into his schedule and make the repair for less $ than he estimated. Great service - I debated keeping it a secret!
