Do NOT do any business with these thieves.
I needed them to look at my kitchen faucet and the pipe connecting to the dishwasher.
The first thing the guy did was to confirm 3 times, at least, that he would take $69.00 regardless whether he fixes the problem or not.
Then after 1 hour of work opening my faucet and pipes, he said he had ""a plan"" for me.
He suggested to ""fix"" the problem by replacing my faucet at ""ONLY"" $1,750.00, with the ""warrantee that there would be no leaking for one year.""
Once I said ""no, thank you. I can replace the faucet for a maximum of $200.00"" the ""technician"" charged me $244.00 for his work and left.
These are truly thieves. Never do business with the.
Jonathan came at the time promised and he did a great job. At first, I was not happy with the price he quoted, but he then called his office and they reduced it to a more reasonable price. (It was a little complicated because I supplied the water filter. Usually they provide the water filter along with installation for a set price.) After he did the instillation, Jonathan tied off the old filter line, and that took a bit extra effort which I appreciated. He also showed me the instillation site, which he cleaned up, and went over basic maintenance of the system with me. Jonathan was friendly and professional. I would use The Plumbing Dr again.
I don't usually review companies anywhere, but I had to review The Plumbing Dr. I've called places and NO ONE ANSWERED THEIR PHONES! The Plumbing Dr was the only company that picked up.
My basement would flood everytime we did the laundry, so we made an appointment and a technician came by to look through the mess. They replaced what needed to be done, while giving a play-by-play on what they are doing and why the mess occurred in the first place.
I am completely satisfied with their service - timely response, courteous and friendly service, cost of the repair, and actually getting the job done well.
We used The Plumbing Dr years ago for a kitchen faucet repair and used them again this week for two different sink plumbing repairs. For both services, Larry was our service guy. Larry (and the young man helping him) is great, so polite and easy to work with. I feel like he is honest in his assessments and the work is always done right. Yes, their prices are not cheap, but they are fast and the work is great. I'd use them again and request Larry every time :)
Always read the negative reviews before hiring a professional! I know that and didn't do it with the Plumbing Doctor. I feel like I was gouged. Like others have said, they charge a $68 fee just to come out, and were up front over the phone about that. What they weren't up front about was their outrageous fees. I was charged their standard flat rate of $210 for them to spend 10 minutes unclogging a toilet. He wanted to charge me another $210 to replace the mechanism inside another toilet in the house that he said is bad, but I can certainly do that myself. The service guy swore up and down that that's the standard rate. It may be, but it's still outrageous and if the person on the phone would have told me that would be the minimum to unclog a toilet, I would have called around and checked prices, or just hung up the phone and found a way to do it myself. Yes, it's completely my fault for not doing my due diligence. It's my fault for trusting that a company would be honest with me and not asking straight up how much they would charge to unclog a toilet. Now you know and hopefully you won't make the same mistake. Oh...I just checked their website and like other people have said, the Plumbing Doctor does have a ""first time customers"" discount, which was never offered to me, even though they asked on the phone if I had ever done business with them before. I can't stand dishonest businesses.
They did a good job but I have to say that the bill took my breath away. They are very expensive and not exactly courteous over the phone. The bill totaled over $900 and it was not itemized to explain what contributed to the total cost. This was for replaced water lines under a kitchen sink, a new strainer and a new faucet.
I really appreciate the job Matt and his team did to replace our water heater. They responded quickly to our service request as we had a leak in the old one. They did an excellent job and kept us to Fairfax code. Many thanks for your promptness and, professionalism.
I contacted The Plumbing Dr when my gas hot water heater stopped working. Matt, the technician, arrived as schedule, thoroughly explained my options after his inspection, and was back the next day to replace the unit entirely. I am pleased with the quality of the work and the professionalism of the service.
Our water heater burst at 10:00 on a Sunday night. We called the plumbing dr, and they came out within the hour. On Monday, Larry came out and installed a new water heater. He was very professional and explained everything. He cleaned up all of the mess, and we now have a new water heater. The price was very competitive. We definitely will use them again.
Kathy G.I've been using The Plumbing Dr for all of my needs for several years and they have not disappointed! Most recently, I had a clog in a 2"" side drain pipe with no available clean out access. Talel came out and was friendly and professional. He listened as I explained how the washing machine drain water would back up into the utility sink. He asked a few questions to narrow down the exact location of the problem. Then he went to work. He installed a handy clean-out access above the pipe and proceeded to snake out the pipe not once, but TWICE. Once to get the main clog out, then again with a larger diameter tool to clean the insides of the pipe. He explained everything he had done, and then gave me some easy to follow advice to help prevent the same issue in the future (use a lint trap, and do a large ""flush"" using the utility sink about once a week after doing laundry).
Thanks The Plumbing Dr for another job well done!
