I don't think I've written a Yelp Review in 2 years, but Jon brought me back. Of course, the worst things happen when you can ill afford it. So no shock my 8 year water heater decided to tell me to go fly a kite.

Jon came out instantly. I couldnt belive it. Said he didn't want to fight thru Cubs traffic, but I told him that wasn't an option. He was there within an hour. Got an estimate, picked the day of my choice based on work schedule, and it couldn't have gone any better.

Fantastic work, most compettive pricing in the area. I'm telling you right now, and I'll end it here. If you have any kind of plumbing, water heater issues, anything whatsoever, quit doing research right now. You are done. Don't waste your time. Not related to this guy and didn't know him from Adam before finding him.

Reliable, High Quality, TRUSTWORTHY (you have no idea how important this is when you are confronted with an unexpected disaster), attention to detail, and knowledgable. Quit wasting your time reading this, second guessing yourself like you always do, wasting more time doing research, and just call him now. You won't be disappointed.

John came to our home two days after my initial call. He was on time, even a few minutes early. My garbage disposal was jammed and I wasn't sure if we just needed a new one. John used his ""lucky"" disposal key and was able to unjam the motor. He told me that another plumber may have just charged us for a new one due to the difficulty he had trying to turn the key. He suggested that I go to Home Depot for a $15 disposal key (I didn't know of such a thing!) and that way I wouldn't need a plumber next time. He also told me to throw in a bucket of ice once a week and add some vinegar if there were any smells. He was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I loved the no nonsense, honest response to what turned out to be a simple problem. John didn't make me feel foolish for not knowing about the disposal key, and I was so impressed that he gave me suggestions so that I wouldn't have to call him next time! So glad I read the reviews on here and his rating is highly warranted!

This guy is a quack. Based on the Yelp reviews I've called him for two separate jobs. I didn't remember calling him the first time (about a year ago) until I spoke to him a second time. Last time he made an appointment and never showed up. I rescheduled (I had to call him!) and he did it a second time! This time he was all set to come out on Saturday until he found out I was getting estimates on the job from other plumbers. Suddenly he had to check his schedule and he would call me back. That was two days ago and I'm still waiting. I checked his website and recognized it from the last time I needed a plumber. Save yourself the trouble and call someone else.

Like most people, I had a few different problems that needed to be fixed. John pointed out a few other things (such as TWO holes in two different pipes), that we hadn't noticed.

When talking to John, you can tell that he is being honest about what needs to be done, and this is one thing that makes working with his business the easiest.

Our clog was gone in about 2 minutes, and he had our pipes replaced in less than an hour. I also had a few other issues, and they were taken care of accordingly.

I wouldn't hesitate to give John a call again in the future,

Can't recommend John enough! Our sink was filling up with our upstairs tenants leftovers... totally gross. John came out within 2 hours on Easter! He was fast, gave us a quote, and it was fixed in about 20 minutes. He then spent time walking us through preventative steps so we wouldn't need to call him again anytime soon.

Lesson learned: although you can put lots of things in garbage disposals, you really shouldn't use them for almost anything.

In the past 10 years, our tub has filled up with water numerous times and usually we are able to fix the problem with some Drano and a snake. This time was different. We tried for over an hour and could not get the water to go down. Panicking at 6:45pm, thinking we'd have to pay extra for an ""emergency after hours"" call, we called John, The Plumbing Doctor. He was at our house in 10 minutes and had the problem diagnosed and resolved within 5 minutes!!! It was the fastest service we have ever received! We can't thank John enough for his prompt service, professionalism, and reasonable service fee. We will definitely call him again, should we ever require the need for a plumber, as well as tell everyone we know to do the same! Thank you, Plumbing Doctor! You saved the day!!!

Not a fan after several visits. Offers a 3-hour span for when he might show up, then changes it to a later one or even the next day. He has also charged me full price when a discount was clearly in order (I asked him to replace something, he tried a quick fix instead, the quick fix didn't hold, I had to pay full price for both visits). Otherwise the work is fine.

Hauled ass during a terrible snowstorm to get here same day, and even though he was slowed by traffic and the weather, he still made it over and kept in contact with me the whole day. When I called he was completely booked up for the day, but said that he could come after hours since it was an emergency--awesome. Had, by far, the most inexpensive quote for the same quality of work. I felt like I was actually just paying for the service rendered and the amount of time spent, instead of just an innocuous $150 or $200 for 10 minutes of work. I'd absolutely call him again.

John (and his apprentice) were prompt, professional and fairly priced. He gave me my choice in day and time (a 3 hour window) and actually showed up within that window. John was even child-friendly, allowing my 2 y.o. to watch him work his magic! In and out in under 30 minutes, too! Definitely a satisfied customer here!
