They don't service sharps chapel area. But yelp has them in the 10 best plumbers in sharps chapel
Maria G.We really enjoyed our experience with the Plumbing Authority. We had a part of cast iron pipe replaced with pvc. We got them at first, for a second opinion, because they offer free estimate. But when their estimate came $200 lower than our original quote we went with them. We had the pipes replaced for about a month now, no issues so far.
Replaced water shut off valve. Prompt, friendly service, cost $142 total. 85 characters needed.
Doug M.They've sent several requests to post a review. Service was fine although it sure did take a long time just to start the work off unclogging our drain. Probably 30 min between arrival and starting the work. The actual plumber was friendly and very helpful, answering questions about other aspects of my plumbing. What I didn't like: 1) I thought the price was steep. Nearly 150 to unclog a sink drain with a high clog...ie not even in the P trap. 2) Spending time trying to sell me an annual service...which of course would have lowered my bill. I knew something was up when plumber told me he was going to present me with a couple options before telling me the price of the fix. It's a drain clog. Obviously there's a price - just tell it to me up front without having me wait on a sales pitch for annual maintenance. That could be handled by just leaving me the brochure. Could have told me on the phone as well when I called for the appt. and asked. So all in all, it was a fine experience. Plumber was professional and friendly. Didn't care for the business practice part of it however.
Kristen H.Someone flipped our house before selling it to us, and apparently it wasn't important to them to use licensed plumbers. Our laundry room flooded whenever we used it because the pipes were laid wrong and were too small. These were the third plumbers to come out and the first to tell us the real problem we were having. Funny how they were more expensive than the first two, but they SOLVED THE PROBLEM. And they even offered a discount for another project. It was well worth the price to have a handful of lovely gentlemen come out and replace and pressure clean our drainage system. They even tipped my 9 year old for helping reach a hard to access spot to reattach a vent. I trust these guys and I would use them again without question.
I had a tankless water heater installed. When I had leak issues with the last bad cold snap, I requested service and never heard back. I had another company come out when the water heater stopped and was showing an error. They fixed the issue and commented there was some interesting plumbing, especially the way they didn't terminate the hot water pipe under the house and instead left it capped off and sticking out of the wall. I guess Plumbing Authority is an average plumber, but I really dislike having to speak with an answering service and then getting text messages from the scheduler. I needed a plumber asap, and didn't want to jump through their weird administrative handling of calls. I'm just loathe to ever call them again.
Bruce P.I initially contracted PA to replace my disposal. Their plumber came out and although acted very professional and nice, left the job with a terrible electrical hookup. I took a photo and contacted PA with my displeasure. Nancy at PA agreed it was not done properly and to their high standards. she immediately scheduled another plumber, Micah, to fix it. And apparently saw from my picture that the pipes under my sink were not done correctly 15 years ago. She told Micah to fix that while he was here at their expense. Here's the bottom line: if you're not happy or they see that something wasn't done right, they will go overboard to fix it. George from OA followed up with a call to insure I was happy. The company has integrity. Thank you PA.
Alex E.We have a historic Oak Ridge Alphabet house and needed a full house repipe. Over the years there had been a lot of bandaids and partial fixed resulting in a hodgepodge of new and original pipes. The plumbing authority had the size to complete the whole job. We also had them install a tankless water heater and garbage disposal.
Due to the scale and scope of the job we had the opportunity to work with about ten of the guys, all licensed plumbers. They did an excellent job getting this house in shape. All new water lines, drain lines, water heater, shower fixtures, toilet, etc. Every person was courteous, on time and nice to work with.
Our job is now complete and I have the piece of mind that our new systems have warranties to keep them running smoothly should we encounter any problems. I'd recommend doing plumbing once and being done over tiny, bandaid fixes, which don't solve the issues.
Had issue with tankless water heater. A company came out yesterday and said I need a new $4700 replacement. My unit is 5 yrs old. Said it's not under warranty any longer and needed replaced. Today, the Plumbing Authority was able to determine the issue. Also, said most of unit had a warranty up to 10-11 yrs. I would recommend this company. I would say who the company was yesterday- they have truth issues.
Lee J.I had TPA replace all the hot/cold incoming pipes in a our newly purchased older home from galvanized steel.
Professional, courteous and very competent work and they went the extra mile by installing an extra tap at the front of the house. Also, very efficient work. Whole house was finished in less that 2 days.
Edit: I went to update my review for this vendor for another reason and noticed that the number of stars indicated was incorrect and not reflective of the positive review that I gave in my original review. Now that that is fixed, I want to continue with the reason that I wanted to edit my review in the first place.
I had a small problem when TPA was finished with the job. I could not find my Werner 6' ladder which was stored in the same area where TPA was working and it was the same brand of ladder they used. I assumed that the crew working here packed I up accidentally and contacted Brian about it. These guys looked not once, but twice for my ladder in their equipment at HQ with Brian even offering to buy me a brand new ladder when they could not find mine among their equipment. I declined the offer and have even done business with TPA again since this because they are good and have integrity.
Anyway I was cleaning my basement the other day and found my ladder in the most unlikely of places.
Crow. It's what's for dinner.
