If your looking for professionalism and curiosity than look elsewhere. Had an appointment with pipe doctor they gave me a two hour window, now I understand that some jobs take longer than expected but not only did they not show up but they didn't even have the decency to call. What a joke.
A warning to those in NYC who are debating hiring this company for any plumbing work: the company does not have a licensed Master Plumber with NYC DOB; all they have is General Contractor license that expired in 2015. You can check for yourself here: https://a810-bisweb.nyc.gov/bisweb/LicenseTypeServlet?vlfirst=N
Be aware that if you hire this company for plumbing work and you live within the five boroughs, this company would be performing unlicensed and unpermitted work.
Good respond time, good price, outstanding job, great customer service. They came same day, find the problem, gave me estimate without charging me for estimate. Fixed next day. Chris was amazing. Very honest, professional.
Don't be fooled by the Pipe Doctor's YouTube videos. He wastes time making social media videos on your dime, whether or not he actually does any serious work.
The Pipe Doctor came to our house to fix our ductless AC. Mike ended up staying here over 2 hours but didn't actually fix anything. He charged us his first hour rate -- $250/per hour -- for both hours. That's not industry practice and it's ridiculous. He took such a long time because he was on hold with the 1-800# of the manufacturer of the unit. If he's an expert, why does he need to call the manufacturer for help? That's why we called them in the first place.
Waste of time and money. Our unit is still broken.
First of all I'd like to say that the plumber who came, Mike, was very friendly and I think he should open up his own business or make his own money on the side. Looking at the great reviews for him, he'd definitely get a large following. This company should give him a raise. As for the company, I called them this morning (based on reviews) bcs our heat wasn't working. Mike came and checked everything. He was very friendly and answered questions. When he left the heat worked. By evening time it didn't work anymore. I called their emergency service and also left a text message. The man who got back to me was very rude. I started to explain the situation when he cut me off and rudely stated that yeah he knows bc he got the message. Then he was like, ""what do you want me to do about it?"" I was a little confused at that time, and I tried to explain the situation again. I thought he didn't understand. I said that there are elderly people living in the house, as well as kids and babies. He again said ""so, what do u want me to do?"" At that point I thought there was something mentally wrong with him, and that I have to spell it out for him. I asked him if he can send smn over to fix the issue bc the service was just this morning and I paid for it already. He said that he can send smn on Monday. WTH? I said that the elderly n kids can't wait all weekend without the heat. He said this is an emergency service line. WTH? He then cut me off and said that if he sends smn I'll have to pay a fee. Since I didn't know about any fee I proceeded to ask him about it. I explained that it was just this morning and I already paid for the service, so y do I have to pay a fee. He again, with his rude tone, said bcs this is an emergency call and either I can pay, wait till Monday, or he can refund me my money. I said refund me my money. I'm still waiting for my refund invoice to come through. I don't understand y ppl have to yell and be rude for no apparent reason. He could've taken the time to explain things. If there's some sort of policy that describes what constitutes an emergency to them, then EXPLAIN IT!!! The guy was a complete jerk and lost a customer bcs of his issues. In this day and age of reviews, social media, and bloggers, one would think it wise not to treat customers like that. I'm most definitely gonna blast this company. They r so quick to take money from people but so slow in giving basic customer service and respect. Shame on them! This is unacceptable. I often wonder how these people treat their own family. Most likely the same way. Have some class and dignity. Btw my name is different on my gmail account than my customer profile; before smn says it's untrue. Also, it seems that the negative reviews here are all bcs of this same guy. Fire him!! Unless he's the owner? So sad!
Ed T.Looks like these other reviews are not real or attacks. Pipe Doctor for heat and A C are located in VS and the work is exceptional fair priced and we have never had to wait for service out of the usual and customary times that service takes in a well run business, I have used them for over six years and never ever had an issue. Be careful of fake news it can be anywhere...
Scam artists!!!! I have been a regular for them for a couple of years and had no problems. I even gave them the job to put a ductless unit in one of my commercial stores. But that all changed. I call in the beginning of the new year when it was freezing, because my tenant did not have heat. They came the next day and advised me they have to order a part for the condenser which was going to be $177.00 and charged me $195.00 for the visit, which I thought was high ( they usually charge $150.00) I did not mind the price because I trusted them. I waited about a week and called them . I think mike picked up and I asked him about the part. He told me that the part is not in and told me it was a 3-day delivery. I got upset because my tenant cannot operate without heat. All he said to me ""understood"" in a very uncaring way. All he told me he will send the supplier an email.. NOT A PHONE CALL. OR MAYBE APOLOGIZE FOR THE DELAY. I got fed up with that attitude and called another company. All it was that the system had to be reset (turn the unit off for 10 minutes). No parts needed. And the charged me $155.00 for the visit. I hope this helps someone to be careful with this company. Either they do not know what they are doing or they are ripoff artists. I think they are both.. BTW the company that helped me out was TF Obrien. I highly recommend them.
Terrible experience. The technician doesn't show up for the appointment, lies, blames and yells at me, claiming he left a voicemail. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. Would never ever call them again.
Tony M.A couple nights ago I got home late from work and the furnace was dead. Frantically started calling HVAC and Plumbers - only after calling a dozen others did I get Marc from Pipe Doctor on the phone. He tried to help but quickly dispatched a tech to my house. Look no further for 24 hour emergency plumbing heating and air conditioning services in Valley Stream or Long Island - Queens, Far Rockaway area. I own multiple properties and I am so happy I found Pipe Doctor.
The coordinator chick who answers the phone is THE worst (imagine an aging ""Roseanne Roseannadanna""). Bad attitude & NO customer service skill or polish whatsoever! My tenant and I were told we could expect a service tech between 12 - 4pm. We sat and waited 3.75 hours before my tenant called to ask how much longer before we could expect the service technician. First, tenant was told we never made it on the schedule - THEN coordinator lied to tenant and said that landlord (me) was called 2 days ago and told service wasn't coming (she didn't realize I was sitting right there!!). Tenant hands me the phone - I ask coordinator WHEN she called me - she then CHANGES her story to ""oh, I left you a voice mail msg letting you know we weren't coming"". NO one called/NO msgs were on my one-n-only phone. I told her I had driven 63 miles to be there and now had to drive back 63 miles (in beach traffic) with nothing having been accomplished. She asked me (with the driest, uncaring attitude - not an ""I'm trying to work with you"" attitude) ""well, what do you want me to do?"" Here I'm looking for a win/win situation knowing what customer service SHOULD be like, so I asked for a discount, ANY discount to offset the gas spent on a second 126 mile round trip. She said (with the same dry, uncaring attitude - and I quote) ""that's not gonna happen"". Business is business, right? So I'm taking my 3 rental properties elsewhere.
