I have now used this company twice. Each service was excellent with the plumber explaining everything and solved both problems My most recent experience was due to a leak that would have done considerable damage. I turned off the water to my home and called. Jason was there in less than 40 minutes and explained everything and solved the problem in minimal time. They will be my plumbers from now on

I have never written a negative review but I feel like people should know to NOT use The Pink Plumber based on my experience! I had a technician come out yesterday to fix a blockage in my main line. He wanted $560 to go through the clean out and even more to go through the roof vent or remove the toilet to fix. He agreed to go through the clean out for $359. He was not able to fix the problem so I agreed to pay $514 for him to go through the roof vent. He said this was more expensive because their company uses a camera to make sure they fix the problem and that it would be covered under their warranty. Well.....less than 24 hours later and the problem is not fixed and now they said it's not covered under any warranty and I would have to pay an additional cost for someone to come out.

Let's begin with Tech Mr. Salvato. Very nice to work with, knowledgeable and accommodating. A copper pipe had sprung a leak inside a wall in my garage. Mr. Salvato showed up on a Saturday and tried as much as he could but couldn't locate the leak's exact location, expected, I guess, because the leak was behind the wall. So, he called for a leak specialist who couldn't make it until the next morning (Sunday.) Now, let's examine the costs. I realize Mr. Salvato came out on a Saturday and I expected to pay a little more. He spent around an hour or more searching for the leak, which involved cutting two holes in the soggy fiberboard and drilling out a section of concrete footing. I mentioned I expected to pay more for a Saturday visit, but more than $400? Therein lies my problem -- the cost. So, on Sunday the leak tech came out and found the leak in short order and replaced a 12-inch section of copper pipe. I am guessing he spent a short time searching for the leak and spent, I am guessing, 20 minutes on the repair. The cost $461.00. Originally Mr. Salvato quoted me $400 plus and another $100 for Saturday's visit and the Sunday leak repair. I paid $521.88 on Saturday that included, he said, the additional $100 for the leak test on Sunday for the total of $521.88. On Sunday, the priced changed. He told me the leak test and repair would be around $460 additional. I argued with him and told him we agreed Saturday the total would be $521.88. He said that was the best he could do. I said never mind I was going to get another opinion on the repair and after going back and forth arguing about the price, he dropped the price by $200. Why didn't he quote me that lower price originally? Bait and switch? He asked me if I would like to have a restoration company estimate the cost of restoration, a company he works with. I said yes. The restoration company came out Sunday to review the situation. The tech was very nice and said she would send me a quote by email Monday morning. I said fine, and that I was going to get one or two quotes. She said that was fine with her. Mr. Salvato looked disturbed, shook my hand and left. The restoration clerk said he was quite mad. I said I noticed that, too. She said he probably was upset because he wouldn't get credit for the referral of her company. First, I always get more than one quote for any work I need. It is the proper thing to do. Second, as a journalist we do not trust anyone, because we have been lied to so many times. There is an old saying among journalists: If you mother tells you something is fine, check the facts. Third, I do not like to be rushed into my decisions. He also suggested I should buy a water conditioning system that would solve the problem of gunk in the water lines and help prevent leaks. Cost, $4,800. When I reacted to the price, he said they could finance it for $30 a month. That is one of the reasons I would not recommend this company. Bottom line, I paid a total of $824.69, not including the restoration and replacement I have coming up next. In my opinion, this plumbing company's prices are exorbitant. I don't mind paying my share but to quote a high price and then lower it because of pressure from a customer is dishonest. You be the judge.

Way, way, WAY overpriced. I called on a Saturday for a rush job for a tenant apartment and the estimate I got was so ridiculous my tenant agreed to wait till I could come by. They wanted over $2500 to """"fix"""" a disconnected kitchen sink pipe and leaking shower faucet. I did the work the next day for $30 in parts. Very nice people on the phone and professional response and emails but you better get two quotes if you are considering them!

I waited 3 hrs and no one showed up. I called to reschedule and when I requested an apology, I was laughed at. The lady even had the audacity to tell me someone would call an hr. ahead of time with the next appt. Seriously? What makes the first appt. not qualify for a phone call but the second one DOES? I wonder why these people think my life is so unimportant that I have nothing better to do with my time but sit around and wait on them? Stay tuned for the new appt. tom.

I had them called to fix a small leak just after the water meter outside. The tech was very dishonest , first he told me a valve needs to be replaced and that would cause more money. It seems that he did not replace any valve and did a small C joint which took around 30 minutes. However they charged 350$ for a very small job. I would have gladly paid up to $250 as it was Saturday and he had to drive for 30 minutes but 350$ is just too much for a job that took only 30 minutes max. I would never give them call again and would advise for you to stay away from these thugs.

My daughter had an emergency plumbing issue on a house she recently purchased and called Pink Plumber on a Saturday night. The tech that arrived was a jerk and quoted her $800 to fix the problems (plus $50 service call). The next morning she called Roto Rooter. The difference was night and day! The Roto Rooter Technician was very nice and completed the job for $460. I would never recommend anyone call the Pink Plumber!

My wife and I had a leaky faucet that was caused by an old """"Y"""" valve that we had put on the faucet. We tried to replace the faucet ourselves, but the soft copper pipe would just not seat on the new fitting, so we decided to call a professional. It was toward the end of the day and we thought we might be able to get someone before the next day, so that we didn't have to go without water overnight. Shame on us that we didn't check reviews before we scheduled an appointment, but we had used the Pink Plumber in the past for a simple dishwasher/disposal issue and they seemed to be professional and reasonable. That was not the case this time. We made an appointment for the next day during a 4 hour window and they showed up when they said they would. The plumber (Richard) was very professional, but after surveying the issue he presented me with an agreement to sign for over $500 to repair the faucet. The estimate was a fixed cost without any details of time or materials. He spent about 45 minutes on the job and then had to run to Home Depot because he had an issue with his torch tip. He returned an hour later and after 15 minutes was ready to test his work. It failed miserably and he immediately whipped out his iPad and said that this is going to cost more! I was patient while he made his selections and then came back with an estimate that was double what was originally quoted. I asked him to leave the property and asked him how he knew that he didn't create the leak, since he had not even explored where the leak was coming from. He did not leave and my wife took over and said that she just wanted her water back on. He spent another 30 minutes, plus 30 minutes waiting for the glue to dry, and charged us $842 for the repair. To add insult to injury, I know have a 3' by 6"""" hole in the side of our house that I will need to hire a contractor to match the stucco. After the dust settled and we talked to friends and other plumbing companies, we seemed to have a consensus that the average price for this type of job should have been $200-$300, but I would have been happy to pay $400-$500 to have this job done. Double that was just not reasonable! As part of the deal, the company includes a $69 service contract that is good for %15 off any service or they will come through your house looking for something that needs to be done a year from now. I contacted the Service Manager today and expressed my dissatisfaction with the price and asked them to remove the $69 service charge, but he refused to commit and seemed to have an excuse for everything. If you are money-conscious, this is not the company for you. If you could care less how much anything costs, then I am sure that they would welcome your call.
