Do not call these people, they are a total rip off. Poor customer service. They charged me $1800 to watch the septic guy pump my tank after they cut an unnecessary hole in my basement floor.

Run away. I will never call them again.

My experience is the same as left by another reviewer, Judy R. I hired them to get a leaking toilet tank fixed. All the guy did was replace a toilet water tank flapper (which btw, costs $6 on Amazon) in literally 5 mins. They billed me $143 for this repair! This included $65 trip charge and $78 for the flapper replacement! We asked him how much it would cost to replace a single garden tap and he told us about 400! Avoid this company, they are way overpriced.

And what's up with Yelp suggesting that none of the 8 reviews would be of value? Let the people read the reviews and decide!

We had a new furnace and heat pump installed last week from The Meridian Company and it was an all around great experience from start to finish. We've used them over the years as our plumber and got the same great service with our new heating and cooling equipment.

Mike Millard, a plumber from The Meridian Company, came and fixed my kitchen faucet that my husband tried to fix the night before. It works better than ever and, while he was here, he also repaired my laundry room faucet. I've trusted The Meridian Company for all my plumbing and heating repairs. Over the years, they've installed two new water heaters, a new furnace, and performed a complete second floor bathroom remodel. The plumbers are very efficient and considerate while in my home. Never a mess, and always tidy. I highly recommend the pro's at The Meridian Company.

On 10/22/15 I made the financial mistake of hiring meridian plumbing located in east lansing, MI to repair a leaky bathroom faucet. This was a simple repair involving approx. $15 worth of parts and 10 minutes of labor. I explained this to their receptionist when i made the appt. She only mentioned a $55 appt. fee. Nothing was said about their prevailing rate or a warranty to guarantee their work. When the repairperson arrived with his apprentice, he quoted a price of $232 for a simple 10 minute repair and a $55 fee for just stepping into my home. i was extremely hestitate to agree to this repair but i was already in it for $55. I guess that's there ""gotta ya"" policy. i reluctently agreed because like I said, they got me with the $55 fee. By the way, an inexperienced apprentice did the work. Why does this company thinks a home owner show pay over priced rates of $232.00 plus a $55 walk in fee for company trainees.

My advice to anyone searching for a plumber is first do not use Meridian Plumbing in East Lansing. Secondly, please ask before allowing a plumber into your home or business about any and all fees relating to there services, for instance....an arrival fee, hourly or fractional labor fee, cost of materials and warranty fee. If they can't itemize it for you, move on. Otherwise you'll get burned like i did. Unless you have a lot of money, stay away from Meridian Plumbing in East Lansing, MI.

I called Meridian at 5:00pm as our hot water heater stopped working. They were upfront with informing me that I would be charged an after hours rate of $225 for the visit to service the water heater. Upon there arrival at 6:00pm the same night the tech spent about 15 minutes writing up a proposal to replace the water heater and sign me up for there service plan. The total bid was over $2500 (which is insane) for a 50 gallon water heater. The part that bothered me the most was he didn't even open the panel on the water heater and try to diagnose the problem, he just immediately went into the process to replace a 7 year old water heater. Do not use this company!

I give Meridien 5 stars! They have done several projects for us and we experienced outstanding customer service each time. Aaron is professional and courteous. Most recently I was given a two hour window for service and was pleasantly surprised to get a call from the company saying he could be here earlier! The quality of his work is excellent, and I was given an estimate with no 'hidden costs '. If you are looking for a positive and professional plumbing service, call The Meridien Company.

Last summer I had a small water issue in my basement (we have a large hill behind our home with significant water run-off) and was concerned there was a drain tile issue. Certainly didn't want this to become a big problem. I called Meridian Plumbing and they were quick to respond and immediately began to diagnose where the problem was once they arrived. The good news, not the drain tiles. In fact it ended up being a simple fix; one of our downspouts that runs into a drain that directs water to the front of the home was plugged. They needed to dig a couple feet down and replace an 8-10 foot section of corrugated drain tubing/tile. Beyond the service call charge which I expected, it was about $390 additional for the 20 minutes (two men so 40 minutes total and they likely rounded up to the nearest hour to calculate work time) of work to change that section of tubing. Materials were about $10, so it ended up being about $380/hr for their time. Over all I'm pleased as this was a big concern and they jumped right on it. Very professional, conscientious, etc. I recommend them, but know they won't be the cheapest plumber in town. But then in the big picture you tend to get what you pay for, and water in the basement is NOT something you want to pinch pennies on.

BEWARE OF COST; I called for an after hours repair and was told the charge would be $275 plus repairs to replace an outdoor faucet so I aid OK. It took him about 1 1/2 hours to do the job. The charge to replace the faucet (he did have to cut the copper pipe and weld) was another $423 Total $698 to replace a faucet. He was friendly and did good work BUT -$698??????

This company promotes itself as the best in the area, and uses it's alleged bestness to justify the fact that it charges on average 10-40% more for the exact same services as other companies charge. I made the mistake of using them for heating and other services, and they let me down. Not only that, but their attitude is all huffy and in your face. The only thing they care about is getting as much of your money as possible. AVOID MERIDIAN!
