Recommended Customer Reviews

The technician came to my house and said that our issue was the rusted toilet flange, it needed to be replaced, but American Home Shield did not cover it. After reviewing our contract and seeing that it didn't mention anything that may indicate that we called AHS and they said all the technician reported was that the toilet was leaking due to a cosmetic issue. I posted the photo the technician was nice enough to take for me to help me explain to my husband why we'd have to pay $575 for the rusted and corroded "cosmetic" issue.

Iv noticed that all the reviews based on 0 are from people who have been through AHS, let me begin by stated that this isn't in anyway a bash tword you all who have had a less then desirable experience with the company but to rather add knowlege.
I have AHS and have had this company dispatched to my home on more then one leak issue, I have had some negative and some positive visits, I feel it is based on the technician that comes to visit.
AHS has specific guidelines that the company is required to comply with, I stopped going through them and have the company number which I call directly. The service has been good thus far and they have done a good job with my entire PEX repipe of my home, the arrived on time and got streight to work and so far the clenliness is on point.

Jose whose title I assume is Plumber has been out 4 times for water in my bathroom vanity area getting under the laminate floor there, 1st he said it was a pipe under the sink, then on a recall he said there was a pinhole in the tub don't use it anymore. I pulled up the carpet in the closet and the laminate flooring which the closet by the tub was completely dry.. however heavy water damage under vanity area- mildew on sheetrock and cabinet floor falling in, called Jose back again on a recall and he cuts a small hole in the sheetrock over the mirror says there is a pinhole leak there puts a metal clamp over it and leaves without even looking under the sink to be sure there was no more leaks., my house is now infested with gnats due to the standing water between the walls where this leaking pipe is, AND ITS STILL LEAKING!!!! NOT TO MENTION THAT MY HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE SAID THERE IS SOME KIND OF ELECTRICAL WIRE GETTING WET BY THIS PIPE ALSO.....THAT IS BETWEEN THE WALL OF THE KITCHEN AND BATHROOM, THIS GUY IS LAZY, INEFFICIENT AT HIS JOB AND SHOULD NOT HOLD A TITLE AS A PLUMBER...AHS IS MY HOME WARRANTY WHO IS NOT MUCH BETTER.....

Is zero stars an option? Came out after American Home Shield service request for a leaky toilet. The plumber thought that our tile floor was way too clean, so he accused my wife of having installed a new tile floor (it's not new) and said that's why the toilet was leaking. He then reported to American Home Shield that we had modified our flooring and that it had caused the leaky toilet. Of course none of this was true and there was no possible way the plumber could have known this (he never even pulled the toilet off the floor). His report caused AHS to deny our claim. Very very shady practices - they clearly know to screw up the claims and get AHS to deny them, so that they can gouge an uninformed customer. Of course, I fought with AHS after such an absurd diagnosis and got a second opinion. It was normal wear and tear and AHS covered it. If AHS ever assigns these guys to you, call in immediately and ask for a different company.

Rude employee and horrible work, total lack of communication skills. I have a non-ceramic shower floor. The technician did not place a mat and his shoes scratched the shower floor. He tried to repair my faucet using channel locks. He did not try using a strap wrench, then stated the faucet has to be replaced. I told him to forget it. He left and I notified the Home warranty company that I did not want this company back in my house. I made the repairs using a strap wrench. Would not recommend this company. Now I am ready to cancel my Home warranty if this is the type service company they utilize. Do not use these people

I had a very negative experience with this company. I was assigned to them by AHS for a hot water heater that is not working. After I received confirmation of the service request I tried to call them multiple time. They do not answer their phone or return calls in a timely manner. When I finally spoke to them I found them less than helpful and professional. They scheduled a service call 48 hours after initial request was submitted. I was told they would call prior to arrival and I did not receive call. They said I missed the appointment and would not reschedule. I then had to begin process with AHS all over. Their customer service is horrible. I do not recommend.

Why am I not surprised. Same NEGATIVE stories as the other reviewers reporting. This company was dispatched by AHS to fix a pretty simple "wear & tear" toilet warranty call and the plumber spent all his energy in trying to up-sale a new toilet install for $499 but also reminding me that I will have to pay $75 for him just showing up at the door. What a HORRIBLE service. The guy absolutely insulted my intelligence telling me how I broke the toilet and wasn't wear and tear. I am an engineer and I can explain things in an logical and objective fashion. I literally kicked him out of the house, immediately canceled my AHS warranty and here I am warning everyone not to do business with this SCAM business. Matt as the owner I wonder how you sleep at night?
Absolutely amazing. Just got a call from Matt trying to explain me very hard how things can break if we use them. Is call WARE & TARE MORON. Unbelievable. I really don't understand why they try so hard no to get AHS to pay the warranty? Are they getting a commission or something? What is the real SCAM here between AHS and Contractors?????
Their BBB report card is not any good either

As far as getting this company sent thru a Home Warranty company? DON'T DO IT! Jose the plumber gave my warranty company BAD information on how my issue happened. Basically told them I did it by force. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Led to warranty company denying my claim. Will never use this company for any plumbing issue.

Our home is under AHS warranty. A ceiling pipe developed a leak and caused water damage, starting on Saturday. The soonest the could come out was Wednesday because it wasn't an emergency. Pinhole leak, but still a leak and still there was water damage. Arranged for a plumber to come out. He said, "It's not leaking; the insurance won't cover it." Meanwhile, we asked him to use the ladder we provided instead of stepping on our furniture. "Well, I need to see inside to see the pipe." My husband offered to move the ladder, but he said he was done. He said he had to call the office about coverage and went out the front door. A few minutes later, we see that he is gone. He was here for 10 minutes, decided he couldn't access the leak from above and left. Nothing was said about leaving, calling us back, etc. Just gone. The pipe had developed a leak, but wasn't leaking at the time. That's like having a car accident that leaves damage, but the auto folks looking at the car and saying, "Yeah. But your car isn't in an accident now."

Do not use this company!! My hot water heater went out and Lindsay was sent via my home warranty company. I had some issues with my hot water heater not being up to code. The actual change and new heater was covered by the warranty, but the adds to bring it up to code were not. Their estimate to do the repairs: add a drain pain, electrical switch, small piece of plywood and a new pipe-975. This seemed very high to me, so I called around and found it for half the price. I called the warranty company and as it turns out I am obligated to go with the company that they sent out or cash out a very low number. I called Lindsay to try and negotiate the price to that in which all other plumbers were charging and after 4 calls to a supervisor I could not get a returned call. Bottom line-they were trying to rip me off because they knew I would be forced to take their price. I cashed out and went with another plumber and saved money.
