Mike B.Called the honest plumber last Friday night and had a plumber at my door in 1 hour. The plumber put boot covers on his boots and fix my leak in my bath room in a timely manner and the price was fair will be doing business with them again...thanks guys
puneet a.Where is 'zero' star ? As all reviews have consistently said : Dishonest OR lazy, OR unskilled OR out their to make a quick buck .. YOUR MONEY. Yes CHEATS !!
DO NOT agree to these guys if Warranty company send them (I doubt anyone will pick them from Yelp directly !) Like others , our warranty company sent them our way to clean stoppage in the laundry drain. Scheduling was good and easy.
The guy tested the drain and agreed it was really blocked. He snaked it with a snake that I would use for a shower drain and not for something like the laundry drain. Anyhow after cleaning, he declared that it's not fixed , and he has to call the warranty company to approve cleaning from the roof.
Please be careful : Whenever your plumber / rooter says this , they are trying to make money: they know warranty companies don't cover this kind of clean out and are about to give you a quote for few hundred $$$.
Of course the warranty company didn't cover it. They wanted me to give them $300 to clean this out. I asked why he cannot try the clean out on the side of the house (that is especially there for laundry). He didn't want to do it. They said something like 'that won't work'!!!
I called the warranty company and asked for a second opinion. A tech from Pennington Plumbing came in 2 days, went to the side clean out and did a great job cleaning the stoppage. He was amazing !! Honest plumbing guy ... not so. Nada. Yelp doesn't allow videos else I have a video that shows how close the clean out was had he wanted to do the work the right way. It's 5 ft away on the outside.
They are a joke.
As soon as a woman picked up the call, she said HOLD, and just put you on hold forever, until the call ended by itself. I called them three times over different times during the day and got the same result...
WTF
A scam company.
They were assigned to me by Fidelity home warranty. When they came for inspection, they left just as quickly, and said they were going back to get some tools. Then I get a call from home warranty that told me the plumbers had submitted a report saying they had solved the problem. Even though the plumbers hadn't done any work, the home warranty wouldn't listen. They're working in tandem to scam customers. Avoid this lying business, go get real plumbers instead.
Lou T.No kidding.. this is the first business (so they call) I find all reviewers have the same bad experience. This business is not professional at all. They scheduled a visit, but didn't call when they couldn't make it. I had to call back to re-schedule. They hang up on me once. Then they put me on a long hold time. The next call I placed, they picked it up. I just don't have anything good to say about them other than the technician did fix the plumbing problem I had. For that, I'm giving them 2 stars.
Created a work order through fidelity home warranty for a leaky faucet. After 2 weeks it is still not resolved. Terrible to see water getting wasted. The worst is dealing with the representative ""JUDY"" on the phone. Honest Plumber phone number 408 500 5240
For South Bay customers, if the vendor for your workorder is Honest Plumbing, please be carefully before paying your work order fee. Worst vendor in the planet. Won't do the job, and you cannot get your money back.
And yelp please don't force us to pick one star. They don't deserve any star at all.
The work order is still open, water is getting wasted , Fidelity Home Warranty is making money, Honest Plumber is making money and I am left with the yearly contract fee, work order fee and the enormous water bill.
Please think twice before signing a contract with Fidelity National Home Warranty and Honest Plumber.
Cris D.If I could give this company ZERO stars, I would.
I had a stoppage in my kitchen sink and called my insurance company, American Home Shield. They dispatched this company - The Honest Plumber (will come back to this claim/name).
This group of people runs a very crooked operation.
After a few back and forth phone calls, I was able to get the plumber scheduled a few days out. The guy shows up on my doorstep and proceeds to ask me to explain what the problem was with my kitchen sink. I repeated what I had told the person who had scheduled this appointment, in that my sink was not draining and that this has happened in the past and I figure I needed him to use a snake to clear the clog. He smiles and asks me to show him to the kitchen.... Here is what unfolded.
Plumber: turns on faucet, sees water fill up to the top of the garbage disposal and not drain. Opens door under the sink and looks in. Closes the door and says ""Ah, I need to cut out the wallboard and replace the pipes. The pipes are installed wrong and hence the clog.""
Me: ""hmmm That does not make sense. I am on the 3rd floor, have lived here for 10 years and have had this problem occur once before, where a snake in the drain did the job. Can you try using a snake in the drain, please?""
Plumber: ""Well, let me send my report to American Home Shield and we will be in touch.""
Me: ""Okay! So when will you be back to clear the drain?""
Plumber: ""I have to run, as I have another appointment in the area. You will be hearing from us soon.""
This entire transaction took no more than 5 - 7 minutes.
I am left thinking to myself. The guy must have x-ray vision, because he did not bring up any tools, did nothing other than open the faucet for 10 seconds to watch the water run and then open the cabinet and peeked under the sink.
I got billed $75 for this visit and because of his fake BS report, was left with a clogged sink that my insurance would not cover because they insisted that the vendor said the wallboard had to be torn out and pipes replaced.
If you are working through AHS or any such entity, please do NOT use this plumbing company. They are scamming the insurance companies and we, the consumers, are left holding the bag. They get $75 for showing up! Truly, that is the agreement. They have to do NOTHING besides show up and write some BS report. If they squeeze 3 of these in every day, that's another $225 they make per day.
Nice way of earning a quick buck!
Shame on your Honest Plumber. A massive scam artist team!
BTW.. I had another plumber come out and fix the problem with a snake... it took him 20 + minutes of crawling around, but he did it with a smile.
Krishna S.A name such as this means a lot to the average user ... but, the Honest Plumber is anything but!
Similar to the other stories, we were assigned to them by Fidelity Home Warranty (who says they provide a lot of work to them). We had a kitchen sink clog - it was a Rush service. They called us at 9 AM & said they would send someone ... sometime the same day before 7 PM .. but we needed to be available all day. We were grateful, waited and called several times and were reassured that it would be looked at the same day. We lost hope around 6:30 PM & were delighted to receive a call at 7:15 PM asking if we were still available. The tech arrives at 7:35 PM, walks into our kitchen .... says, ""Oh! you don't have a clean out"" ... ""you need one to unclog the sink"" - ""we will ask the warranty company authorization to build one"" and walks right back to his car. Spends 60 secs in the house, didn't touch a single thing below the sink.
I chase behind him to understand what he meant - not being a plumber, I had no idea what a ""clean out"" was .. asked him if he could try and remove the p-trap and snake the drain ... if there was anything he could do at all .. we needed the sink unclogged so we could wash the baby's milk bottles!! At this point, the guy starts talking down to me - ""do you not understand what I am saying? you need a clean out"". Not knowing different, I am dejected .. walk away and call Fidelity at 6 AM - they needed to wait for the report from the tech, agreed to send a senior tech to get another view .... but basically told us that they would reject a claim if we didn't have a clean out. To Fidelity's credit, that part is stated in the contract. We just had no idea.
What disgusts us about the ""Honest"" plumber is when I called the office manager in the morning, she calls the tech to get the low-down .. and informs me that they need a clean out installed to unclog our drain ... and Fidelity has refused that work order and therefore it would cost us $800 to build one! Annoyed by the tech's attitude and realizing we don't live in squalor and dump shit down the drains, I call other plumbers in San Jose to see if I could find one that would be willing to snake the drain without a clean out - turns out, that's the norm!!! The plumber I reached was surprised to hear that I was told a clean out was needed for this at all.
They sent out a tech within a few hours - the guy was helpful, showed me what he was doing, told me how to maintain the sink going forward, used a snake and went all the way down to the main, unclogged our pipe and was out of there in 30 min flat!!
Moral of the story:
1. If you are assigned a plumber by your home warranty company, read the fine print in the contract, do your research to make sure your home meets the needs stated in the contract so that you don't waste your $75
2. If you are assigned the ""honest"" plumber, beware! The Yelp reviews speak for themselves!
3. If somebody is trying to sell you a ""clean out"" for a clogged drain, it most often is not needed - call other places!
Good luck!!
Devanna G.go somewhere else!!! this is the worst plumbing company i have ever come across!! called them several times and they told me they had no records of me calling but then had the exact date that i called the first time. they give you the run around! they tell you to be home because a ""plumber"" is going to go by and they never show!! ive called 3x and the third time i called they told me why i didnt just go through someone else!? so therefore, i highly recommend going through someone else!
more like, ""the dishonest plumber!""
shitty ass customer service as well!
They were assigned to us by our warranty company, it was put through as an emergency. I was told that they would call to schedule an appointment. They called me first thing in the morning whilst I was going to work and said someone has to be home from 8am to 7pm, they wouldn't narrow down the time so I had to cancel all of my appointments and go home. Nobody showed up, I called the office at 6pm but it went to voicemail because the office closed at 5pm.
The next day I called again, this time managing to secure a window between 2pm and 6pm. I was told it would be closer to 2pm so I went home at 1pm. Again nobody has turned up, not even a courtesy phonecall. My wife spoke to their office who said they would call back but didn't.
I'm going to ask the warranty company to assign another company, rather than Dis-Honest Plumber.
