Shawn returned my call the next day, so we talked about what I needed done and he gave me quote for the job. He then gave me a day and time when he could do the work, and showed up as promised. The work was done in a timely manner and the price was what we had agreed on. He also gave me some good advice that was practical and useful. I would recommend Shawn as he's reliable, timely and fair. His prices are competitive and the work is professional. I called two other plumbers before him and never received a return call from either one. When I need more plumbing work done, I'll call Shawn first.

I will keep this short. I have a leaking garbage disposal. Shawn helped me to diagnose the problem and replaced the bad units almost a year ago. Due to the problem of the garbage disposal design, it started giving me leaking problems once again just now. I gave Shawn a call; left a message. He courteously returned my call very soon. Put me on top of his list and take care of my problem first, as I 'was' a paying customer. He identified the problem and took time to fix it right there. I expected to pay for this service call. Typically many would charge after 3 months of labor warranty. Shawn took care of my problem without asking for a dime. This is above and beyond and I will definitely come back to him if I ever need help. Many thanks!!

I really wanted to write a good review for Shawn, who did a great job of fixing and cleaning our kitchen drain in a very tight schedule. Actually this is my first review in Yelp... Our kitchen drain was blocked after cleaning dinner dishes. I couldn't fix it by using a hand snake bought from Home Depot. I called Shawn and left a message because it was almost 8pm. Next morning after 8am I tried to call a few other plumbing service companies, only got two answered my call. One has open appointment in one week, and the other company transferred my call to service staff but no one picked up. Just when I was so frustrated, Shawn called and asked a few questions to get some ideas of the issue, then he told me he can come around 9:15am after finishing up the current job. He did come before 9:15, which is wonderful for me since I have to go to work in the morning. He is well equipped with different tools, and it took him about 15mins to fix the clog. After that he took one more step to clean the drain down to the bathroom to make the trip and my money well worth it! In between he even taught me how to make my snake tool better and recommend a few things to prevent the clog issue in the future. In my opinion and experience, he is not only nice to talk to but very professional in plumbing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to my friends!

I have no doubt about what others are saying about Shawn and yes, Shawn will return your call. However, I will not get to experience his wonderful service, b/c he left a message for me saying that he has too much business and will not be taking in any new business. So I am left with no one to help me. If you are looking for a plumber, please be prepared that Shawn will not have any availability.

When I suddenly lost hot water and couldn't get my pilot light re-lit due to a degraded thermocoupler, I did a search on Yelp and found Shawn's Handyman Plumber business. I chose him because his reviews were so high and his specialty in hot water heater repairs. I am so happy I called him. He was able to fit me in the next day between jobs and quickly identified that I had a ""unique"" water heater. He called the manufacturer and helped me get the part I needed to do the repair. He came back when the part arrived and fixed the water heater. And then called that night to make sure everything was working correctly. And with all that extra service he still charged me his original quote on the phone. Now that is an honest and fair business man. I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me a new hot water heater, despite it being 10 years old and the manufacturer saying I should replace it, because from his assessment I didn't need a new one yet. The casing is still solid. Next time I have a plumbing issue I'm giving Shawn a call.

The water heater in my house wasn't working one early morning. I looked up Yelp and found Shawn's info (Handyman Plumber). The problem was with pilot flame not turning on. Shawn walked me through the steps over phone and luckily, the flame turned on. He stayed on phone and made sure flame doesn't go off after while. This took few minutes, but saved a lot of trouble and money for our family.

Shawn could have easily fooled me in to big repair that was not required. But he was honest and explained what could be going wrong. He gave tips on what to look out for in future.

Very impressed and will certainly call him for future plumbing needs.

I have a new plumber! After two 'no-call-backs' from plumbers that were recommended to me by co-workers I started looking on my own. I found Shawn on Yelp and I couldn't be more happy. I called Shawn after hours and had asked if he could give me a call the next morning to look at a leak. He promptly called me back and was able to come right out to take care of my problem. Not only was Shawn professional and knowledgeable, he was MORE than happy to field every question I tossed at him. He went above and beyond the job at hand when another issue surfaced. Writing this review as Shawn leaves our house. Neither my husband nor I are very handy, and we just purchased our first home. Every home has its kinks and ours is certainly no exception. We called Shawn out to take a look at why our air gap filter in our dishwasher was gushing water onto our counters, and to have him take a look at why water wasn't dispensing from our brand new fridge. Before he even got down to the work, Shawn showed us (because as new, unknowledgable homeowners, we don't know anything!) where various water shutoff valves were around our house. He really took the time to teach us and explain everything, which is something we really appreciate.

Turns out the air gap filter just needed a bit of cleaning in the hose (there was a lot of gunk in there from the previous owners); now, when our dishwasher drains, it isn't gushing out water.

The fridge water hookup was a bit trickier. Shawn didn't hesitate to put on his crawl space suit and got down and dirty, underneath our house to help us locate the water shutoff valve. The reason we weren't getting any water from our fridge was because the water valve had been turned down to a trickle. He turned the water back on, and now we're getting water from the fridge, hooray!

Bottom line, Shawn is the best; he really cares and takes the time to make sure you are educated so that you know what to do when a plumbing crisis arises! Thank you so much, we're definitely recommending you to all of our South Bay friends.
