Our renters were having a problem with the toilet. I called two plumbing companies. One plumber came out and gave a very high estimate. They both told me all kinds of things that would need to be done - at very high costs. I then remembered Shawn, who had solved a plumbing problem for me once over the phone, by giving me suggestions of things to try myself before paying someone to come out. It had worked, and he saved me the cost of hiring a plumber. He was so honest, I had written his number down. I called him for the rental problem, he came out within a day, and fixed the problem easily and at a very reasonable cost. The expensive stuff the other companies were saying needed to be done were not needed at all! Thank you Shawn!

In a nutshell, Shawn is absolutely super! He may not be the cheapest guy out there, but he is responsive, professional, and a nice guy to boot. He'll take care of whatever issue it is you have and give you some extra advice if he sees something of concern.

I initially called Shawn to get a quote for some plumbing issues my husband and I noticed in our master bath--a funky (rotten egg-like) smell that kept recurring (it would go away for a few weeks every time we drano-ed the shower) and a strange stream of water we noticed would come out of a pipe that ended just short of a screened opening near the base of our house every time we used the master shower.

Shawn is a super busy guy since he's a one-man shop, so when he didn't pick up the first time, I left a voicemail. He called back that evening, but I couldn't get to the phone. We were finally able to connect the following morning, and he spent a good 15 minutes going over what could possibly be the problem. I had him come out to scope out the issue, which cost us $95, and after suiting up and crawling underneath our house for about an hour, Shawn discovered that we had some weeeird plumbing and piping going on in our house (stuff that the inspector should have caught when the previous owners sold the house!), which was causing water flowing down our master shower drain to go back underneath the foundation of the house. The water that was sitting under the house was likely the cause of the recurring smell.

ANYWAY, long story short, Shawn fixed the weird piping issue and said that we likely had a clogged drain somewhere, which we'd have to diagnose after the stuff he had fixed dried. Shawn left to go to his next job but said he'd call later in the day so we could test which drain was clogged. I suspected the master shower, and sure enough, when Shawn called, that baby clogged up within 15 seconds of being turned on. He CAME BACK that same day and cleaned out the shower drain (nice big black hairball came up) for me at a discount, and even drew me a nice diagram to illustrate to me exactly what was going on with all the plumbing.

Anyway, a few hours' worth of Shawn's time and just over $300 later, our crazy plumbing issues have been fixed. I'd call him again in a heartbeat! Thanks, Shawn!

We had Shawn out to the house today for the second time in a month. The first time he replaced the thermocouple on our water heater after diagnosing over the phone. He was on time, worked fast, and took the time to explain how our water heater worked compared to newer models, gave us some pointers on how to maintain our utility room to prolong the life of the heater, and showed us some piping issues that should eventually be re-plumbed (but said he would wait until we replace the water heater). My husband asked him a lot of questions about re-piping the whole house, repairing pin-hole leaks, etc., and Shawn took the time to answer all the questions and gave some great recommendations for next time we run into a problem. We were impressed that he didn't try to upsell us into doing more work.

When we noticed a leak coming out the front wall of our house on to the porch this Sunday, we immediately called. Shawn said it sounded like a 2 man job so he called Johnny from Arrow Plumbing and they came over this morning. Unfortunately for them the leak was in the cramped crawlspace, so they suited up and got right in there to plan the repair. They were somehow able to figure out a way to repair the cracked drain pipe by opening up a small hole in the back of our kitchen cabinet instead of having to go through the exterior wall, which saved us a ton of money. My husband had wondered about having them re-pipe the drain pipe from the sink while they were at it, but Shawn said he didn't see a need to do that and explained why it was fine the way it was. He answered all my questions, and did a great job containing the mess and cleaning up afterwards.

Shawn was very professional, friendly, informative, with very reasonable pricing. Both times, he gave us an estimate up front and stuck to it. We won't hesitate to call again next time we need a plumber. Thanks Shawn!!

It may not be fair to award five stars to Shawn for a phone call but I'll do it.

Our disposal wouldn't turn on. Called Shawn who led me through a series of checks over the phone. The problem was a tripped breaker. ""No charge"" said Shawn.

So, we have found a go-to, honest, helpful handyman at last. Shawn will be getting our business from now on.

Shawn is AWESOME. Honest, efficient and VERY helpful. 2+ years ago he did a rooter job for me and I truly appreciated his honesty back than. This time I needed new faucets for my washer connection. I've hired Shawn twice now who was referred by a neighbor who found him on Yelp! The first time he was here about a year ago my water pressure was really bad and he was able to diagnose the problem without jumping to ""expensive"" conclusions and doing unnecessary work. He took time to think is through and ask me valid questions before proceeding and it came down to a simple clogged pipe connection from the water heater that was affecting the entire house.

The second time was just the other day around 9 PM on a Sunday night when the copper connection he replaced a year ago somehow developed a pinhole that caused water to spray all over my garage . I called him not imagining he'd really call me back but within a 1/2 hour he did return my call. He had just returned from vacation, too, and still took the time to tell me what to do until he could get to my home the next day. He actually arrived 2 hrs earlier than expected and had the decency to give me fair warning 30 mins prior to arriving.

He is very honest and his fees are extremely fair and reasonable. I have him on speed dial now and would definitely highly recommend him.

Shawn not only came by to fix the problem, but also gave me some pointers as to how to avoid the problem in the future. Seriously though, what plumber educates. Shawn is the most straight up handyman I've known who'll get the job done right the first time.
