On January 4 2024 I contacted the greatful plumber to replace the full valve assembly to a single handle in my shower due to leaky handle and spout -their calls are recorded. The owner came out and assessed it and suggested a stem replacement instead. Based on his licensed and expert opinion, I agreed but asked for a warranty to be sure because I was weary. He assured me it would be resolved and offered a 90 day warranty. They had a technician come. The issue has not been resolved and it has been leaking all this time a slow drip. A few days ago it began to pour out water and I called the company. They came out and dismissed it saying it wasn't a warranty issue and said it would be $1800 to replace the valve assembly (the original repair I asked for!!) but would deduct the $650 original price. Then they called and said they would go down to $1000 at the lowest to do the valve replacement. He is unwilling to write a quote for that job. And unwilling to keep the warranty on the original $650. Other more reputable local companies offered to do the original requested valve replacement for between $850 and $1150 in total. Somehow he claims his price of $1800 is fair after charging me $650 to do a stem and seat replacement he insisted would be lasting solution. He jacked up the price so he didn't have to actually deduct the $650. Trying to corner me with his lemon repair job. I went with On Call plumbing for the valve replacement, they did not scam me and offered a 6 month warranty and did the job same day for a fair rate within the bracket I mentioned above. Will never go with this company again. You cannot trust them. My suggestion, don't take the chance. It is not worth it. Their Google rating is low for a reason. I hope others come forward with their experience as well. I want to record this complaint in detail for others who have gone through this and those in the future to know about this businesses practices. I still had the same issue 6 weeks after the claimed repair. The hot water was still leaking. The company convinced me to do a $650 job and then halfway through the 90 day warranty doesn't want to take responsibility for misleading me into believing it was a lasting repair. Wanted to charge me $1000 to do the original repair I asked for. The photo attached is what I paid for and the warranty yet never received.
