Scott of Flying Plumber is AMAZING! We had taken a picture of his truck while doing errands, and then: aaah, we needed a plumber for an emergency and he was here 90 minutes after I called him! His work was efficient, clean, he listened and explained, AND he noticed our water heater was leaking so got on the phone with warranty people and got approval! Had a temporary emergency with the kitchen drain one evening. Freaked out enough that I began calling ""big box"" plumbers that offer 24-hour service. Was able to connect to a few and was quoted several hundred dollars to clean out the problematic drain. Thankfully the emergency part of the problem subsided, giving me a bit more time to figure out an alternative solution. In fact, the next morning I never received a callback I was promised from the larger plumbers I had contacted the night before. This was a bit disappointing.

With time on my side I made the conscious decision to look for small business plumbers with a solid online reputation. After searching my neighborhood's FB group I came across The Flying Plumber. There were very nice comments about owner Scott- how he was flexible, fair in price and performed quality work. Seemed like a good fit so I gave Scott a call. As advertised, Scott was super friendly and willing to make a SAME DAY visit. He empathized with our situation, understood the importance of getting our kitchen back in service and showed a sense of urgency to make a visit that day.

After agreeing on a time, Scott texted me with an ETA when he was on his way. Gave me plenty of time to get the pups put up and clean the laundry area (we had backwash from the clogged drain coming out of the laundry room- hence the initial emergency). Once he arrived, Scott was quick to look things over, explain what he was going to do and started setting up. He used his 75-foort auger to root out the clog(s) between the laundry and sink's plumbing. He also identified a couple of area that needed addressed underneath our sink. They were small things, but it was very thoughtful for him to recognize and offer a solution.

Scott offered tips/tricks on how to keep the drain open and uncluttered, which was a nice touch. The service took about an hour and everything was put back in its original place, leaving the work site clean. We spent a few minutes talking about a reverse osmosis (RO) line as well as a soft water system (we have the loop already built into the home) and it sounded like his options were affordable.

So to recap: small business plumber who is flexible with his schedule, able to accommodate a semi-emergency situation, showed up when he said he would, provided quality work AND changed an extremely fair rate (half of some of the larger competitors I had received quotes from the night before). If you're in need of a regular plumber, look no further. The Flying Plumber is a top-tier business! And it feels nice to support local business!
