This morning, Drain Doctor, Inc., of San Jose, sent Bobbie to install my new water heater. Bobbie proved to be a professional and knowledgable, plumber. He explained all concerns before and after installation; and he did so in a very friendly manner. In the future if plumbing or drain services are needed at my home I will call Drain Doctor, Inc. and ask for Bobbie. He did an excellent job.

My water heater stopped working so I called to get an appointment. I was told the technician is going to come by to do a test to find out what's wrong. The trip and troubleshooting are free. When the technician arrived and he asked if another contractor checked out the water heater and that he has 14 years of experience and have seen this before and know how to turn it back on but cannot guarantee. If it works or not I will have to pay him the around $149 if he touches it. And then to fix it would cost starting price around $500 to $1500. That's not what was said to me over the phone so I said no and lucky I did that. Wasted my time and I don't appreciate that kind of game. I already know the water heater doesn't work because PG&E helped tested it out. So I called another water heater company and the technician knew right away the issue when we tested it together. It was the control system that wasn't working and he fixed it with a new part. I only paid $250 for the repair at another water heater company.

Jorge, came to our house due to an emergency drainage issue that was causing our bathroom to have water leakage. He came promptly, diagnosed the problem quickly, told us our options, and was extremely pleasant and professional. Excellent service and great value!

Incredibly quick service. Nikolas was available same-day and gave me good estimates for potential solutions. I appreciated that they followed up over the phone to schedule services once I made my choice. Very fair pricing especially compared to another estimate I was given that was roughly double the amount. Very streamlined experience with good prices. I would use drain doctor again.

I am still evaluating them, so I am giving a neutral rating for now. I got a plastic 11x7 advertisement in the mail that uses the name Drain Doctor (with the Rx) on the last letter. It has a different phone number than this one, in the 510 Area code and was sent via US Bulk Mail - Postage Paid SAN JOSE, CA #1778. (Potential Red Flag- 510 is the area code for Oakland and north). I tried to google the phone number (510)-236-0600 and could not find it listed as a business, but I called it, and it does connect to the company in San Jose. I think they are legit, but that number forwards to a 408 number. I don't know it the license number listed is real or not, either Lic #643458 CA36, B, C-10, C-33. Also, the business name ""Drain Doctor"" seems to be used all over the state, but completely different businesses.

Update: I called the 800 number and got the dispatch guy in San Jose. They are, at least, very quick to respond. Their website is www.draindoctor.com, and they do have coupons, and give free estimates. They have a plumber in the area who is going to pay me a visit on a Saturday, which is nice.

This review is for Song's services. Song came to our house to install a new water pipe and replace some other water pipes. He was very reliable and came on time. He was discreet and polite during our visit. All of his repairs were done quickly and thoroughly despite how challenging the job was.
